I know I heard this in one of the previous email shows I've listened to, but I can't seem to find a link in the show notes or anything like that. I compared my Sony mini DVD handycam video I shot of Pirates of the Caribbean to Pete's Sony miniDV HD video he shot of Pirates in Disneyland and there was no comparison.

I'm in the market to upgrade my camcording, especially since I have a 1080p HDTV. I just wanted to know what the model # and any reviews/advice. I'm wondering if it was the Sony HDR-FX1000? That's the model I'm considering. I am, however, somewhat hesitant though because I've read some ideas that the miniDV format is on the way out. :confused3

Just in case Pete actually answers this question, what editing software do you use? I've got an iMac with a 1tb hard drive. It's not the newest iteration, but it was new in Oct. '07. Just curious how you import your HD video, how you edit it and then how you watch it on your HDTV. I'm assuming you connect your camcorder to the TV via HDMI. I have an Apple TV, but I don't see a way to get the video in HD onto my iMac and then stream it via Apple TV to the HDTV. Wow! I'm about to have an anagram attack!!!! Just in case you field this, Pete, thanks!
