What kind of shoes do your teen girls wear at parks?

DD14 is not a tennis shoe person. What kind of shoes should she wear for 4 park days in late May? She wears Rainbow flops, sandals, or flats every day at home. The Rainbows might work? Need another shoe to alternate with though.

The rest of us will wear tennis shoes every day.

Thanks for your advice!

She wears Rainbow flops, sandals, or flats every day at home.

Does she walk 6-8 miles (or more) a day at home? If so, wear what she normally wears on those walks. If not, wear what she would put on if she knew she had to walk 6-8 miles.

You will get responses from everyone ranging from Teeva's, to crocs to flops to running shoes, but everyones feet are different. I would not consider (unless it was raining and cold and I needed pants and paired them with my rain boots) wearing anything other than sneakers/running shoes with non cotton socks for a day of parking.

Most blisters are caused by two major factors - friction and moister. Wearing shoes without socks increases friction. Wearing socks with sandals or crocks is....well, I digress.

Mine wears Vans while we're at the parks for the walking, then the minute we're done she switches to flip flops so her feet can breathe the rest of the evening.

If we're doing a Downtown Disney day, or have an off day.... it's all flip flops!

My daughters wear flip flops, crocs, occasionally tennis shoes. My 15 year old pretty much only buys shoes with heels (wedges) but doesn't seem to be bothered walking in them. I would say the rainbows are fine, whatever she is accustomed to wearing.

My DD was 9 on our last trip and she wore exactly what she wears at home -- flip flops. She wore nothing but flip flops for 8 days in WDW. She did fine. The rest of the family wears sneakers or keens.

I wasn't a teen too long ago (and don't dress differently now)- I wore tennis shoes. Yes, I looked dorky but it was worth it. I also liked my Toms and Pumas.

Ain't no way I'd encourage anyone to wear flip flops to the parks, regardless of how high end the shoes are or how comfortable the person thinks they'd be.

I have gone more than 2 weeks in my cheap Old Navy flip flops, best shoe experience ever. I have tried other sandals, but I wear my ON ones all the time, so my feet are used to them. Have her wear shoes or sandals that she wears at home.

Unless it is too cold, my DD and I both have only worn flip flops to the park. It is just too hot for feet to be trapped in an athletic shoe for us. The only problem we've ever had with blisters is from Crocs that a) have that hard rubber as the upper part of the flip flop or sandal, and b) truthfully, we probably didn't break in as well as we should have before hand. We wear Crocs that have a non-plastic upper part, Teva Mush, Nike or Adidas that have a gel footbed.

I don't do tennis shoes and socks (unless I am running), either. I swapped between Teva flip flops and Toms. It was October and it wasn't so hot that I sweat in my Toms (I hate to wear them sweaty or if they get wet), and they did great. I bought Tevas for the trip a couple of months in advance to see how I would like them, and they were great! I will take the same again this October.

My niece wore flip flops, as she does at home in hot weather. But I made sure that they were cloth thongs and not rubber because I feared a blister from the rubber. She did fine. My arches would have been screaming.

My girls are 14 and 18. They only wear Old Navy flip flops the whole time. And we hit the parks hard for 10 days straight! I too pretty much only wear the Old Navy flip flops. But I do have a dressier pair of flip flops I wear if we're going out for a nice dinner.

And now that I think of it...none of my family of 6 even brings tennis shoes. We all wear flip flops and my youngest sometimes wears Crocs.

On our Christmas trips if it's cooler we wear Toms, Sperry's or even Uggs.

I always wear flip flops (like flojos or havaianas) with really great cushion/support and have done 2 weeks at disney with no foot problems! Whenever I wear more restricted footwear, I get blisters!

I usually go when it's "cold" and wear jeans and "cute" tennis shoes, but when it's warm enough Old Navy flip flops are the best. The only bummer is the people who walk too close to you and step on the back of your flip flop.

Crocs , the soles are great.

Most teenage girls do! ::yes::

Thank goodness, I thought I was out of touch with reality. I feel better knowing it's only teenage girls. The only thing more lost than the mind of a teenage girl is Jimmy Hoffa's tomb.

I am 19 years old. Normally I never ever wear sneakers but I always get a cute pair with pretty colors and I either wear those, or Olukai flip flops. They come in all different colors and they are extremely supportive!
