What kind of shoes do you wear?

last trip I wore shorts and tee shirts with sneakers, and this time I'm leaning more towards sundresses that have a little bit of sleeve (so no bra peeking out of strap sleeves) to make me look more polished in pics. Going in mid September. Anyone have a suggestion for non expensive cute but wearable shoes- I will be pushing a double stroller! Also do people wear bike shorts under dresses?? Where do I buy them? I'm a size 14 if that matters. Thanks in advance!

I don't know about bike shorts but I get more athletic (?) dresses at Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) and city sports.

I like LL Bean's Discovery or Boothbay sandals-- waterproof and athletic support for walking all day but not too clunky looking. Many here also love Tevas. I like Birkenstocks for comfort but worry about them getting wet in the parks.

I also like to be more polished in pictures, and found skorts to be good this last trip because they had the shorts attached but looked like a skirt. If wearing a regular dress I think bike shorts or Jockey Skimmies are a good idea for coverage getting in/out rides, and walking comfort.

My girls swear by crocs while at WDW- though I've never tried them. They have some really cute styles now.

Our whole family wears Keens. But they are pretty sporty looking. They might go with a tennis type skirt.

I have had good luck wearing my sketchers (which really wouldn't go with a skirt) and croc ballet flats. Frankly, I was really surprised at how comfortable the crocs were. I have issues with both plantar fasciitis and sciatica and I had no problems at all.

I am an idiot I read your initial post as where you get cute sundresses with sleeves... My bad! I also like crocs but I get the ones that look like ballet flats. That being said, I don't think they are the best for a full day on your feet. I like Birkenstocks and Naot - which are both quite a bit more expensive but worth it. I think it's worth it to spend a bit more $$ on shoes as sore feet make for a miserable day.

If you don't own it already, buy Body Glide, if you are thinking about wearing shorts under the dress because your thighs rub. It is life changing. You can buy it online from EMS.com, or most other retailers... drugstore.com, probably amazon. It is a wax like substance that comes in a deodorant stick. You can also use it on your feet to prevent blisters!
For shoes, I usually wear something like Tevas.

Do I use body glide even if I am using the bike shorts? I thought the bike shorts would help with the chaffing on legs rubbing together?

With skirts I would wear my Reef flip flops (all cloth) and my keds both are comfortable for a full day of walking.

I have also done my Sperry's with skirts.

I wear shorts under my skirts, they are almost tight like the pair I have and the bottom is trimmed with lace. I bought them at rugged warehouse over 2 years ago and have been searching for another pair. They do keep me from chafing.

No, if you wear the shorts, you don't have to wear it. Although I have big thighs so unless the bike shorts are to my knees, they always roll up on me. And in that case, yes the body glide would help. No shorts necessary if you put the body glide on. Just cover a wide area on both inner thighs and you should be good to go for the entire day!

These are my Tevas of the summer. Wear them everyday and they are super comfy and dry pretty quickly. I live in a walking town. Prices varies by color.

I also have these Chacos, which I think offer a little more support. FYI I bought the kids size 6 and they work perfectly and I wear an adult size 8.5-9. I had also ordered the adult ones for comparison and the kids are less bulky, which I also liked.

Otherwise, my sister has these sandals and she says they are super comfortable and cute!

I love wearing my casual skirts at Disney with a fun t-shirt, but wear nothing on my feet but flip flops. I'm talking the ones from Walmart for 2 bucks. Drives my dh crazy, but I'm so comfortable in them. On longer trips I usually need two pair. My youngest will wear nothing buy cowboy boots, we get our share of comments!!! I'm sure the podiatrist's would frown on it. Have a great trip.

Thanks everyone! I ordered body glide
Online and will try iT before we go. I tried to get bike shorts but be of my thighs they just roll up and are not comfy. I also go a pair of croc ballet flats, croc flip flops and a pair of Birkenstocks. Testing them all out to see what I like best, I liked the flip flops a lot and today I'm trying the croc ballets, I like them and they are super cute but I am not sold yet... And I know the Birkenstocks will be good in the long run but have to break them in.

Honestly, i wore cheap 88 cent flip flops some days and some more stylish sandals that cost about $15 some days. both were fine. Just be sure to bring an extra pair of flip flops in case your shoes get uncomfortable. It was nice to switch between 2 pairs throughout the day.

I only wear Go Walks in Disney, amazing! I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and these shoes are awesome! I used to only wear the classic clog crocs in Disney, but the Skecter's go walks have those beat! Check them out on amazon, that's where I get the best prices for Go Walks!

I wear crocs sandals, the ones with a little lift, and 2 straps. Another life saver I found the last trip was gel inserts for the balls of your feet, that have a split for flip flop style sandals. I also buy my under shorts from target and walmart in the lingerie section. I buy the ones without lace, and they have less spandex. I don't want to feel like I have a scuba suit on, but still want the freedom to enter rides without showing my bum to the world! I think one pair is by Jockey.

We are a Sketchers Go Walk family too! We wouldnt make it with all the walking at Disney without them! I have already ordered each of us a new pair for our upcoming trip.
