What kind of offers for late Nov/early Dec?

I think the weekend of 1st/2nd Dec is looking best for our pre Christmas trip :) The current 40% offer only goes up to 7th Nov so there's no way of knowing what sort of discount will be available at that time of year.. if anyone's travelled at a similar time, do you remember what kind of deal you were able to get? I know there's an Early Bird offer on at the moment but I'm not entirely sure how much of a discount it is. I'm hoping it'll get better! :)

When this booking window closes (30 April) it is very likely that another discount will be offered for later in the year :thumbsup2

We are going around that time too. I can't wait (think I'm more excited about that than my June trip :lmao:), I have wanted to do Christmas at DLRP since our first visit but with one thing and another we never made it. We've booked our flights this year though so it is definitely happening :cheer2::cheer2:.

I wanted to do something extra special at Christmas for my girls this year, as my eldest is getting older, so while she still believes in the 'man in the red suit' ;), it's something we must do :goodvibes. I had thought about Lapland but I don't do extreme cold and think DD2 is still too small for that so DLRP is perfect :thumbsup2.

Anyway, back on track :rotfl2:. I asked a similar question a while back about offers and how busy etc it would be and a few people said they got good offers - 40-50% off at that time. However, I'm not sure whether their offers included a weekend (which can be a bit of a sticking point at DLRP as mid week often seems to be cheaper). Still, I'm sure there will be something, and do bear in mind your price bracket goes on your arrival date not your whole stay so as we arrive mid week, we should hopefully benefit :wizard:.

I, like you, priced up online and yes, there was an early booking discount but what it was I'm not sure as it didn't say - it didn't seem much though :confused3. We have APs as well so I'm going to hang fire and price RO as well as a package when an offer comes along.

The nice CM I spoke to a while back said early June will be a good time to ring back so I guess that is roughly when an offer might come out. It might coincide with the new brochure around that time advertising Christmas etc.

:santa::santa::santa::santa:

Well I'd probably do Thu-Sun like last time :) It seemed to work well and only meant taking the kids out of school for 3 days. I am a bit concerned that the government apparently might be making termtime holidays illegal though! I CAN'T WAIT to go at Christmas time though. Honestly, it sounds sad but I think planning our first trip to DLP was one of the happiest things I've ever done :cloud9:

40-50% would be awesome :) I'll keep checking for offers!

We will do those dates too :thumbsup2 (my DDs get some teacher training days then so we are lumping them onto a long weekend). We might even see you there :goodvibes. I'm hoping that the Sat/Sun won't be too busy but I suspect it will be fairly so. Still, we have the Thurs/Fri to do all the queue building stuff :thumbsup2.

I've already been and bought us thermals and DD2 a red Belle dress for the trip :rotfl2: Need one for DD1 too but haven't found any nice ones in her size. See, told you I was excited :lmao:.

Plus it's a special Wedding Anniversary for DH and myself on the trip, so I'm planning a nice meal (minus littlies as my parents will watch them) etc :lovestruc.

I think what tipped me over the edge of my excitement was seeing photos of the Duffy decorated tree at the DLH last year :cloud9:

Happy planning anyway. If I see any deals I'll post on here :santa: (loving the Santa smilie!)

Sounds like you're going to have a lovely trip :santa: (loving Santa smiley too!) Lucky you knowing in advance what teacher training days your kids will have.. no hope of that here! They always seem to tack the odd day on to the end of a holiday, though, so that's no good for us taking a long weekend. I'd consider going in the school hols (DD2's birthday is 23rd Dec and I'm planning to get her a cake at Cafe Mickey, even though we'll be there 3 weeks early!) but they don't break up til Fri 21st, and I'll definitely be in last minute Christmas prep mode by then! Last year they broke up a full week before Christmas so that would have been perfect. Oh well :)
When we were there last March I didn't honestly think the weekend was that much busier than the Thu and Fri, although DD2 is a bit of a wuss about rides so we didn't go on anything with a long queue! This time I'm bringing another adult so it'll probably be a whole different experience

What dates did you go last year then? As I said, there are lots of shows on at that time, so we would be quite happy to do Thurs/Fri rides, Sat/Sun shows if need be.

I asked about the training dates and was informed it is not set yet (but has been the same for the last 6 years or so), so they didn't *think* it would change - it's a gamble. I wanted to go then, as after that they get into Christmas play rehearsals and the like and I don't want them missing those.

Agree about Christmas this year, it is a very late finish. I too was thinking about going away just before Christmas (before booking DLRP) but when I realised how late they finished I canned that idea. I can't believe how many parents complained about the kids breaking up so early last year though, so I guess it doesn't please everyone. We've booked a surprise trip to Santa at home when they break up that weekend instead :santa:.

Don't think it is going to compare to DLRP Christmas though somehow :lovestruc:wizard:.

NB - if you went at that time last year what was the weather like? We are expecting quite cold, hence thermals!

PS - Cake for your DD2's birthday is a great idea. We go in June a few weeks after my DD2's birthday but I think we aren't going to bother with a cake. We will never get to go on/very close to their birthdays as they are term time sadly!

Keeping an eye on this as this is when I'm hoping to go. Looking at what's offered now it's £368 for 2 adults 2n/3days in Sante fe mid week, but don't know how much of an offer that is?

We did March 25-28 last year, it was really cheap at that time of year!
That's what makes me want to go at the end Nov rather than mid Dec, the fact that they put on Christmas plays and I don't want either of them to miss out on that. Also I work with children and we're busy ourselves as we get nearer Christmas!

The cake at Cafe Mickey is meant to be a birthday treat instead of a party. Parties are NOT good for my nerves so I'm trying to avoid doing them this year by planning special treats instead ;)

I think I'll get some thermals and some snow boots for us all.. and hope that it doesn't rain! I can cope with cold, but cold AND rain is a different story.. ;)

Probably no harm in waiting a few months to see what comes up :)
