What kind of camera do you take with you

I have a DSLR that I just bought. It takes amazing pictures but it is also a bit heavy. I also have a little point and shoot. Just curious what kind of camera everyone takes.

If you are into professional type photos a dslr is tough to beat if you know how to use them right.

for just walking around and posting pics on the net I would say a good smartphone camera or point and shoot would work.

I just bought a gopro hero hd2 and though I'm not impressed with it's photo you can freeze video and get very good still shots. best 300.00 I've spent in long time.

I brought my DSLR and a little point and shoot on our last trip. Plus my phone. Carrying the DSLR got old really fast. I'm glad I brought it, but during rides it got to be a hassle. I wear my camera cross body, and it always got in the way of my purse which I wore the same way. I wound leaving it behind in the room. I actually used my phone more than my p&s. The only super great thing about the DSLR is the lack of shutter lag.

i have a conon point and shot i hate how long it takes to take another pic but its ok for what it is, it is older 4years old and it has dropped once but still works. the batts get eatten up quick in it tho. my huby found another conon point and shoot nicer one at the schools yard sale it work sgood too so now we both have one and this year we will get a 4 or 8 gb for each of us so we can take more pics we only had 1 and 2gb one last time

I have a canon power shot sx20is. I love it, especially since it takes great pics and video! I use the camera bag as my purse and wear it crisscross on my body. I've never gotten tired of carrying it.

I have a DSLR and have spent a lot of time/effort learning to use it, as a hobby. I really like the shots I can get of my kids in manual mode using a fixed lens. I'd love to capture some great moments of them at DL. That said, I wouldn't want to carry a DSLR around all week, especially if I was just using it in auto mode as a souped up point and shoot. I will probably carry the DSLR for half of the first day and when we do a character breakfast. The rest of the time I'll use my iPhone or a point and shoot that can easily be carried around in a pocket.

I've also got PhotoPass+ so I'll rely on the park photographers to get some decent pics of the whole family.

Me too! I love that I can make HD movies as well as take great pics. I use my camera bag as my purse, although I am shopping for a new crossbody for our next trip.

I have a dslr and it doesn't bother me to carry it around the parks. Plus I love the photos I can get with it. I wouldn't trade it for a point and shoot and expect similar quality of photos, so it's worth it for me to carry it. Hubby and the kids each have point and shoots and they all shoot whatever makes them happy, so we always have lots of photos. I'm a scrapbooker though so I appreciate them all.

Depends on what kind of DSLR you have. When I had a Canon Rebel I carried that around - its not that heavy. Now I have a Canon 7D and that thing weighs a ton. Not a chance I could carry it all day so I take a good quality point and shoot that doesn't have much of a shutter delay.

I brought both my DSLR and my point and shoot. I wound up leaving the DSLR in the room. It was hot on my neck, and heavy, too. Took some great shots with my point & shoot. Maybe next time I'll drag my DSLR into the park!

I have a DSLR, which is big and heavy, and I was way too nervous to take it on rides like Splash Mountain since it's only water resistant. I even jokingly asked a CM if I could do baby swap with my camera, since it is my baby, but the answer was no. I only brought it for part of the day. I carried a point and shoot that fits easily in my pocket the rest of the time.

I still do not have a fancy smartphone so I can't use that for pics. I think I will take the fancy cameras one day and the point and shoot for the rest of the days.

iPhone 4S ;)
It takes pretty decent photos and videos.

I sold my P and S and DSLR so I have decided to use the iphone. I have downloaded some apps and now how read several articles, I am betting I can get some interesting photo's we will see.

I have a nikon and while it takes great pictures it is cumbersome especially if I bring other lenses and a tripod (unless its the gorillapod). Back to the question at hand though, I typically only bring it one of the days we are in the park, the rest we use photopass or our phones.

Same here. Smart phones have come a long way in regards to camera capabilities

Started out with DSLR, then to point and shoot, and now just Iphone.

Canon elph. Have to be carrying a camera to get good pictures, and the elph fits in any small pocket.

I love my Canon PowerShot S95. The image and video quality is much better than my iPhone - especially in low-light situations - and quite portable. :)

I'd do the exact opposite. I'd use the P&S or iPhone during the day when there's plenty of light and take the DSLR with a fast lens at night. Just back from our trip with a very capable Canon S100, my worst shots were at night. I wish I had my D90 with 17-55mm f2.8 lens for the night shots.
