What kind of an audience does Disney channel think they have?

I haven't watched Disney channel in a while, but I was watching the wizzards on waverlie place yesterday and they were spoofing Gwar (with a band called Arrg) and on a commercial for the Zeik and Leuther show they had an entire episode parading "The Hangover" not to mention the many godfather scarface ect references they put on their shows. I just don't get it, would the children in the age-range that these shows are targeted for really know about any of that stuff? It just seems weird to me.

No the kids don't get it or at least my DD8 doesn't. They pit it in their for the adults like the rest of the adult humor in most of their movies.

All of that stuff was aimed towards adults. The kids don't get it, but usually a parent is watching television with the child (or at least in the room with them) and the jokes are aimed towards the older audience.

Go watch the cartoons you loved when you were a kid, you'll notice a whole lot of jokes that you don't remember the first time around.

Even in Winnie the Pooh I've found jokes like that- I'm glad they put them in though, it makes them just as much fun to watch now as it did when I was 4.

all the jokes on ALL there shows are really sex jokes that got twisted around. its soooo obvious. i think the worst is that new one victorious. idk how many sexual refrecences ive caught on that thing but they do a good job hiding it! my parents have noticed though i can just tell!

like everybody said it goes towards the parents. The Suite life is the worst with sexual refrences and Wizard does the most paradoys. I don't i like using Disney for back ground noise.

This is because "sex" is being pushed on to 8-9 year old Look at the clothes parents are letting there kids wear Heck in KY, more middle school aged kids are getting pregnant. And from what i'm seeing it's not just KY!! I picked up a "tween/teen" magazine for DD14 and when I opened it, I thought i was looking at a magazine for high school kids not tweens!!

How many parent today use the TV in their kids rooms to babysit them? Not too many family's still sit down for meals at the dinner table. Mom and dad are both working. Heck, look at the music on Radio Disney Even my DD thinks it's wrong!!
