What keeps u going back.

I have a physical condition that makes life extremely difficult. DW has been a way for me to forget. I read the guide books, read DW on-line info, plan DW trips, and talk about past vacations to forget that I'm sick. Last time we went I had to use a wheelchair for the 1st time, but it was every bit as magical as my DD and I sat together letting DH wheel us around!:thumbsup2 Life is good, and Disney is just an excuse to get to "pretend" like we did when we were little.pirate:

My dh has a stressful job that requires many hours and 6 days a week. At WDW, he turns off his phone and you can literally see the stresses fall away. DD and I get 100% of his time and attention.
Priceless.........

Same for my DH...although I think he tells the office we don't get reception in DW. :lmao:

We "get it" too...

And, thank you, to all the cast members. You guys rock! :thumbsup2

For me I have found that it's a place where I can be as silly (sometimes sillier) as my teenagers. They enjoy spending time with me when we are there. We can hold hands, and take group photos without anyone complaining, we each have our own special thing that we look forward to doing/seeing when we go there...and like the other posters have said...the magic is real. It's palpable and really something you can see, taste, touch and feel.
I love it. :lovestruc

What a great question!!!:goodvibes

Disney is the only place we've gone that allows for the interests and activity level of my whole family to be catered to!!

My husband is *slightly* ADD...:lmao: sitting on a beach is TORTURE for him. He NEEDS something to do, somewhere to go, something to plan EVERY DAY. That's just the way he is. Disney allows this for us. It's stimulating and interesting everywhere you go. We are both creatures of habit as well...so we can follow the same path year after year if we want to...or we can switch things up out of the blue too...it works for the kind of people we are.

My step kids are able to grow with their Disney experiences. Each year they are able to do different things.

But really, as many others have said, we GET the magic. We feel it. We think about it all year...we talk about when times are tough, or the weather is cold. We enjoy the planning as much as the being there...talking about which resort to stay in...pestering my husband about DVC...trying new restaurants, looking forward to old favorites. Disney is an all year source of joy for us!

Disney is our emotional life raft on rough seas.

We love Disney. It makes us happy. We will ALWAYS be Disney people.

:goodvibes

We go back for the magic. As a family we just love it together. It is something that we all enjoy and all look forward too. It's really just the magic!

I couldn't have said it better. Thank u all for responding I have had a great time reading these and my husband can't get the dis where is is at so when we IM each other I would cut and paste these to him. He says Thanks 2 all of u he can't wait to go back and for this deployment to be over our next trip we are going for 13 days and he thought that was a bit much now he says it's not enough lol

Keep these coming I love reading them.

I really love this topic! We keep going back because I keep planning vacations! My husband's job is pretty stressful and mine is not much better. That added to all of those personal issues that always come and we become a stressed family. When things get really tough, I go into planning mode and put together a vacation. As most of you know, if it's done right, you can plan for almost a year in advance and it's something to look forward to.

Plus, I know that when we get to WDW, it's just our family. It's our time to reconnect without work questions or house payments.

We're also campers so we go back to WDW because Fort Wilderness is the best camping community that we've ever been apart of. We consider it our home campground. This is only one of many family traditions that revolve around WDW.

But, the most important reason that we return is because there is nothing better in the world than watching my son's eyes sparkle when we see "Mickey's Castle" for the first time on that vacation or seeing his mischevious side when he asks Winnie the Pooh to see his butt so he can make sure that it's okay after being stuck in Rabbit's hole:laughing: . That's where the magic is for me.:wizard:

STRESS-FREE!!!!!! I am a preschool teacher and I have 17 -3 year olds ALL DAY-5 DAYS A WEEK. So to have a nice cold Pina coloda near a palm tree with no worries in the thought that comes to mind:lmao: . I can feel the magic and LOVE IT. My life is broken down into 2 sections- Feb.- Aug. is WDW planning and trip. Sept.- Jan. is christmas and post christmas.:lovestruc.

Dw saved my husband from a deployment but the only down fall to that he would be coming home next month not in Dec. They called the first day we were at the world and said we had to come home cause he came down on orders I told them fine we would come home but they owe us 4 grand. They pretty much told us enjoy your vacation u will deploy with 3rd platoon lol

I am praying for his safe return! My DH is leaving in the fall for the 3rd time. We are thinking about going to WDW with his family in September before he leaves. Just there in March, but I cannot think of a better place to create memories before he leaves.

Have a wonderful time on your "reunion" trip!!!

I love Disney because I work with criminals all day and Disney is my escape. I work all year looking forward to the next Disney vacation. It's the only thing that keeps me going. Seeing "the World" through my 3 ds's eyes makes my heart sing! The place seems to have some kind of enchanted magic spell over me.

I really never grew up!!!!! I like to be a kid and act like it and at DL it is accepted......actually EXPECTED!!!

In 83 days 4 hours 17 min and 37..36..35sec.. we will take our family Adventure to WDW for the first time :thumbsup2

I love acting like a 10 year old.

because our family so enjoys all aspects of WDW!:cool1: we've been going since DS (now 20) and DD (now 18) were little.....new memories....great time...learning experiences...exotic locals....interesting and amazing people...:thumbsup2 When we land in June it will be like coming home to our own special place! I just can't see us EVER not going:banana: for lack of a better term, it's comfort food for our souls:surfweb: popcorn:: :cool2: princess:

There are several reasons I love to go back to Walt Disney World. I have alot of memories tied up in the happiest place on earth. I've been there on several different occasions with my Grand Parents, Parents, Sister, Nephews, Great Nephew, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. I regress back to childhood when I'm and lastly I'm addicted to everything Disney. I will always find a way to go back there as I get older.

I went to Disney World for the first time in 2004 on my Honeymoon. I had always wanted to go as a child but we never had the money. I reread that Babysitter's Club book where they went to Disney World like a billion times. Anyway, when we went on our Honeymoon it was actually during the most stressful time of my life. My mom had just had a stroke, my father and mother were both hospitalized at the time and both had missed the wedding. They actually passed away one month later. But after the urging of my father for me to go ahead and go on my honeymoon I went not thinking that I would enjoy it with all the stress going on back home. Well I did. Whatever magic Disney has worked and I had just the best time. Disney was able to help me forget all the stress back home and enjoy myself. I have been hooked ever since.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It is so great hearing how Disney has touched people's lives. I can't wait to go back and have my husband home.

we go because "there's no place like home". I love going there. It truely is like a fantasy for us. We go there and you forget all your worries, all of your troubles seem to dissappear.

For us, up until 2004 it was just a place that we all enjoyed, my brother and i never fought while there and we also jus "get it" adn all our cares leave while we're gone...

Now, ive been sick for the past 4 yrs so and my parents and i now say we NEED to go or else we will go crazy....its an escape from reality and drs adn hospitals

For the past 4 yrs we have sadi that 2 things have kept us going through the drs, the hospitals, the surgerys adn the medical bills.....
1. laughter...you have to laugh or els eyou will cry
2. Disneyworld....its not reality...nothing outside of it exists
