We have learned the hard way not to leave ANYTHING in the stoller at the parks. Last summer my youngest son had taken a water bottle with a little fan that clipped on the top ( a present from his older brother who had went on a school trip to Williamsburg) we left it hanging on the stoller while we went to play on the Honey I Shrunk The Kids playgroung. When we returned someone had stolen the fan off the water bottle. The same summer we left the stoller in stoller parking across from Buzz, when we came out our clean stoller was gone and one that was left looked just like ours but was very dirty. We waited and waited all evening thinking that someone would realize they had our stroller and return it... no such luck. The CM told us just to take the one that was left but it was so dirty there is no way I would have put my son in it. My husband had left the case to his Oakley sunglasses in the stoller but luckily had his sunglasses on him. It didn't ruin our trip and I am very glad that the items taken were inexpensive and easily replaceable. But I just wondered have others had this happen to them at WDW?

Nothing that I can recall. Sorry to hear your experience, lbd, but good to hear it did not impact your trip and fun.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I've been numerous times and have never had anything stolen.

While I can't say for sure it was stolen...

My DH dropped his cell phone by the bus stop at CBR. Didn't notice until the bus was on its way. Immediately told the bus driver and guest services at MK then called hotel desk and lost and found upon arriving back at the room. Also searched the entire bus stop area including the garbage can. Never found the phone and it was not turned in.

One of our nephews had his autograph book taken out of his stroller. And we had a half dranken bottle of water and Gatorade taken. Yes, it was hot but that is just really gross. And then during MNSSHP someone took our stroller towards the end of the night. Granted it was a WDW rental stroller but good grief our kids became dead weight as we were carrying them towards the front gate.

Never ruined a trip but it just amazes me what people will take.

I lost one of those waterproof containers (the ones that hang around your neck) at Typhoon Lagoon several years ago. The string broke off and I didn't notice until I needed to get something from my locker. It had $40 and my locker key. I guess I was lucky that the person who found it never took anything from our locker.

Another time I dropped my camera in the AKL gift shop. I realized I was missing that a little more quickly and ran back from my room. Fortunately, someone had turned it in :) So I guess it just depends on who finds it.

Had a small bag of prescription meds and digital thermometer stolen out of our room at the Contemporary. The management could not have cared less.

Thread here where it is a better fit.:goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

Luckily we have never had anything stolen. I don't bring anything to the park that I can't hold on to. There are just too many dishonest people even at Disney World.

One Annual Pass.

Replaced immediately by Disney so no loss.

Original cancelled on Disney's computer and found abandoned outside AK the next morning.

One Canon T90 (SLR film camera)

Put it through x-ray machine departing MCO. I was pulled to one side to fire up my laptop. When I returned to x-ray machine a few second later - no camera. Security staff 'saw nothing - knew nothing' Camera was insured and I had taken film out.

PS... many years ago, when on vacation in Crete, I left my wallet with all my cash, travellers cheques and credit cards on a table next to the pool. It was four hours before I missed it. Went back to the pool and it was still there!

Sorry about your lose.

My whole family cannot understand why people leave so many things on their strollers unattended. Just because it is Disney does not mean it is safe. Would you leave your stroller somewhere in your home town and actually believe that the stuff would still be there. I know with kids you have a lot of stuff but get a good bag, put the stuff in it and take it with you. In addition, the Disney staff does move strollers around when an area gets crowded so maybe your stroller was moved somewhere else.

I really don't know why people loose their senses when they go on vacation. You have practice safety wherever you go. Especially on vacation.

In all my trips I have never had anything stolen.

Many years back we took my niece with us (she was 14). She left her fanny pack in the bathroom and realized it about 10 minutes later. We ran back and it was gone, along with her mom's camera and $80. We even looked in nearby garbage cans, thinking people might have taken the money and dumped the rest.

Her mother, my EX sister-in-law, was furious about all this and made out like it was really our fault. I was not in the bathroom with her (my DH and her had gone to bathrooms while I entertained DD) so couldn't remind her to pick up her stuff. We tried to make up for it by buying her some extra stuff and giving her a copy of all our pictures but we couldn't replace her mom's camera - it was really just a cheap, 35mm anyway. Sad, hard lesson for her.

No, but I travel light and keep everything on my person at all times.

How people with kids do it I don't know . . . I'd be very tempted to leave things on the stroller as well. I've certainly seen many people do this.

i think its pretty hit and miss.
when i posted a similar question re stolen strollers, there were quite a few people who had autograph books, plush toys, beakers taken, it makes me really sad - especially when it obviously belongs to a child! and yet other people have left cameras/camcorders in the stoller which were still there when they got back

Had a small bag of prescription meds and digital thermometer stolen out of our room at the Contemporary. The management could not have cared less.

Any small or expensive items such as meds that I want to leave in the room, I LOCK them in my suitcase in the room. If someone wants to steal something out of my room, they are just going to have to take the whole suitcase out, which would make it WAY obvious!

I also do this with packages, souvenirs, etc. that I purchase.

We have also had the rental stroller taken, if those people only knew how heavy kids can get!!!

Does anyone else leave things in the safe in the room? So far I have had really good luck doing this, just curious what opinions of others are?
