Whenever saving money comes up the top things that get cut are those little things people splurge on every day. Some people it has to be a latte from Starbucks or a Dunkin Donuts Coffee every day, other people its scratch tickets, buying lunch vs. bringin it, etc.

What item do you splurge on and could you give it up?

My splurge is probably Dunkin Donuts Coffee and I limit myself to 1 a week or every other week now that we are trying to save money - I make coffee at home now. The only other thing would be cheesecake but I only do that every 3 or 4 months or so.

Craft items...stuff is expensive over here and i tend to be a collector of stash than doing much with it :rotfl: i have cut down alot though, due to running out of space.

Not an everyday splurge, but I've been known to spend $50 or so on rare import CDs and videos. I've got a couple of Japanese imports that were never released in this country...I'll cry if anything happens to them!

Disney snow globes.
Also my hsuband and I go to Dunking Donuts several times a week after school.

Clothes -- I only buy good quality clothes that will hold up over time. Good craftmanship is important to me.

Shoes -- just cuz I love 'em!

Bath and Body stuff -- just cuz its important to smell good!

:)

Has to be new clothes. If I don't have new clothes, I feel naked.

I am an admitted clothes-a-holic, who has no intention of signing up for rehab.

Japanese anime sets, took me almost 2 months to hunt down my Bebop set

We don't splurge on much, don't get the best of everything but there is one area where I will gladly pay more. We buy Macintosh- it's costs more but there is sooo much less hassle in owning a mac compared to a pc- and they tend to last forever. Ours is 8 years old and going strong. Of course there are those who have differing opinions, and that's fine, but this is my opinion. I would never spend money on a pc.

Mine would probably be my coffee, too! :) Dunkin' Donuts is all we have in this town, so that's what I usually treat myself to.

My dog. I spent more than an entire pay check on him last week on surgery/teeth cleaning, ultrasound and xrays but i'd rather have my puppy than money any day! Oh, and i had to buy him a jacket to wear cause his belly is naked and it's snowing here.

Every Friday we go out to a local diner.

About once every couple of months we like to buy a couple of nice, thick filets mignon from the local butcher and grill them.

When a book I want is available in hardback, I spend the extra to buy it in that format rather than paperback.

i would say starbucks but....

i think the 3 disney trips in 1 year gotta count for a splurge :woohoo:

Hardback books, nice soaps, needlepoint supplies, and, occasionally, nice china or sterling silver.

I collect Annette Himstedt dolls which are very very expensive.

We also splurge on traveling. We go somewhere at least twice a year not counting little weekend trips here and there.

Books! I love to read and there are more books around here then could possibly be healthy, LOL!

Real expensive Coffee, other then that I only get the necessities for myself

Jewelry. I just went to Vegas and splurged on some earrings from Tiffany's. I actually already had a pair that I received as a gift, but I lost one in NYC. I bought another pair and now I have a pair and a spare!

I also splurge at Coach once in a while....on the Vegas trip, I got a beautiful star keychain.

food would be mine. I like to eat lunch out everyday. I have my little routine depending on where I am going for the day. I have been known to plan my week on when the blue plate specials are in small town diners!

Candles, Yankee Candle in particular. I have lots of them in every room in my house. I have about 100 of the different tarts. I have 8 tartburners in the house.
