People "bump" their threads back to the top of the page to see if they can get any more responses (sometimes even for a first response).

We used to use these guys to help bump threads up: but there was HUGE smilie reorg about a year or so ago and apparently they didn't have as good an agent as this guy: and this one: and a few others so they got top billing to the right of the posting box and our BUMP guys relegated to [MORE] status and no one really uses them any more. It is really quite I think Webmaster Alex really had some personal grudge against myself and that was the beginning of the end for them all.
