They actually do not snack a lot, so I went by what they like and what DS takes to school for snack. In K they take their own, in PS it is provided, not sure about next year. Now I want a snack
DS7 likes anything red - strawberries, tomatoes, red apples. For the other 2, it really depends on the day - cheese sticks, yogurt, and cereal are more popular though.
They, of course, would eat junk food if I gave them the choice, but I don't give them that as a choice as a snack Those are only special treats they get every once in a while.
Yoplait yogurt. They used to like the kid kinds but then I couldn't get them to eat them. I let them try some of mine and now that is the only kind they want. Banana Cream and Strawberry are the top choices.
I just asked my 7 year old DS...and he said his favorite snack is gjetost. pronounced yeh-toast.) It's norwegian goat cheese that looks a little like peanut butter (that shade of brown). It's very rich so you don't eat a whole lot of it at one sitting. I also like it with ry-krisp crackers, but DS eats it plain.
Quirky kid, huh? One of his other favorite snacks is cottage cheese with steak sauce.
