What is your Shopping Weakness?

definitely clothes...it's always a battle of wills to keep me OUT of Kohl's!! especially if they're having a sale...oi!

Some of my books I love so much that I reread them annually and if I gave them away I'd feel as if I was losing a good friend. Probably sounds silly.

Definitely not! i've given away plenty of books, but the ones i love, i keep forever. i still have my two favorite kids books, i would NEVER give them away.

My DH turned one room in our house into a library with wall to wall, ceiling to floor glass front bookcases as a gift for me for me as a combination anniversay and Christmas gift.

 :cloud9:

I have several things I can't resist: :rolleyes1

-- Lipstick (I have probably about 40 different tubes of it at home, and they are mostly the same shade of pink but I still buy more when I see it on sale or clearance!)
-- Clothes (Clearance racks mostly. I can't resist a bargain.)
-- Shoes, any kind!

Dishes. Different ones for different holidays and seasons. I saw some adorable candy striped Christmas mugs last night, but due to the presence of my husband I managed to pass them by. Threw very broad hints his way, however.

I love to shop for ingredients! I love cooking and baking so after I look up/hear about recipes, I end up with a shopping list the size of a textbook and I head to the stores to buy what I need! I love:lovestruc going through the ethnic aisles in the grocery stores because there are so many interesting ingredients and possibilities!

I also  Disney Couture purses/totes, etc. They had some gorgeous ones this time at WDW when I went in summer ... such as a dark turquoise bag with the 7 Dwarves and unique fabric flower appliques!

Kids' clothes, handbags, and Bath and Body Works. Also any holiday-themed stuff for the house. Halloween kitchen towels, Christmas votive holders, etc.

In the same way some women have a weakness for shoes or shopping or chocolate?.I was arguing with one of my friends who said, i only have to look at American women for the answer. Is this true?

I don't know. What did she mean?

I'm pretty good but if anything it's earrings on sale. I have about 20 current pairs and I don't think I paid more than 25% of the full retail price for anything of them :)

I'm not an impulse buyer, I know what I want and that's what I'll buy. That said, I did buy two pairs of jeans last week :rotfl: (on sale: $40 instead of $100).

DVD's. I always say to myself, nope, not gonna buy any this trip! And I always do.....

kaffity- You should never go to Kohl's. they are always having a sale-the biggest sale of the year! The lowest prices of the year. If they keep getting lower, shouldn't things start to be free around this time?!?

I likle to buy "new" groceries...new flavors of gum, new granola bars, etc. I guess I am not very exciting!

I just love shopping in general. Shopping for anything is exciting to me.

But, make-up and office supplies are my big items. You don't even know HOW much self-control it took to putz around in Sephora the other day and not buy anything. :( I don't even wear make-up, that's the thing! Aside from mascara and nail polish, I don't wear it. Office supplies because I'm way too organized and type A for my own good!

Even when I was on chemo and in a wheelchair, the only places I went besides the hospital/doctors office was Perkins/Denny's or the mall! People hate going shopping with me because I drag them all over.

Clothes for my kids, especially for my DD when shopping at Gymboree.

I actually find Kohls sales to be pretty lame. They are like JCPenney to me; the sale prices are pretty much what the clothes should be selling for at full price.

I find much better deals at Macys!

DVD's, especially from the $5 bin at Wal Mart and Target. I always find something that I think to myself "Oh yeah, that's totally worth $5." And TV series on DVD that are under $20. Such a deal!

Shoes and books call to me as well... but I have better restraint with them.

Mine are:

---shoes
---things for the home (I have to drag myself out of World Market and such places.)
---books! (I could literally live in Barnes & Noble.)

Clothes for my daughter and now my son who's due in Feb

Although lately I've been obsessed with thrift store and consignment shopping. It's alike a treasure hunt. I have a lot of fun.

I'm loving that so many people said office supplies - I thought it was just me! Post-its, folders, notebooks, pens. Love 'em all. My newest addiction is Sharpie Pens. They're fantastic.

I also love books and magazines. There's just something about new book or finding a magazine in my mailbox that makes me smile.

One that hasn't been mentioned.... mugs. I know, totally random. I have mugs that I use for coffee, mugs that are for tea, mugs that I only use around the holidays, ones that I prefer to use at night, others that I like to use in the morning. Going into Starbucks is a constant battle for me. I just bought a new one yesterday - it's a beautiful white mug with silver and gold snowflakes all over it.

I just re-read that. Man, I sound like such a complete loser. And a little neurotic, too.

Book of the Day club sounds like me.....my roommate asked me one day exactly how fast I read because he was coming home and seeing a book in the trash can almost every day (I don't reread romance novels and I don't have anyone to trade with or give them to.)

You could join paperbackswap.com. You swap with people and only have to pay the postage on the books you send out. I also send some of my books to soldiers in Iraq. With a flat rate box at around $10 it is not too expensive as you can fit a lot of books in.

Purses, shoes, watches, and body care items (perfume, lotion, etc.) It's a disease.

Office Supplies! I love the folders and binders and portfolios. Paper clip holders, tape dispensers, pens, pencils, markers, files, and on and on and on.

Yeah, I know. I'm weird.:rolleyes1

Ooh, I forgot about office supplies! I LOVE going to Office Depot or Office Max. I always buy stuff like binder clips, pens, etc., in cute colors. I used to love the "fun" pens they carried about 10 years ago...the ones that had marbled or swirly ink that changed colors as you wrote. Nobody carries cool stuff like that anymore. :sad2:
