What is your Shopping Weakness?

- Kohl's - work clothes at great prices!
- Purses - I really like Coach and off brands too - for Coach I like getting older styles used on Ebay for much lower prices
- flip flops - I have a ton
- magazines
- my newest thing are Disney Couture style t-shirts - I have gotten about 5 in the last few months

Office Supplies! I love the folders and binders and portfolios. Paper clip holders, tape dispensers, pens, pencils, markers, files, and on and on and on.

Yeah, I know. I'm weird.:rolleyes1

Oh, I love those too. :lovestruc And bags to put them in - the more organizational pockets the better.

Holy heck!!! I am the same way!! I heart office supplies!
Books are probably my biggest weakness though...

I love magazines and books! I could spend hours and hours in a books store or library. I lose all sense of time. It's been hard to part with those magazines and books once they are bought. Very hard for me to do. But I don't like the clutter! I am tackling it though. I've been slowly donating my magazines, books, VHS, and DVDs to the library.

You sound like me.

I don't do magazines anymore because I found that I couldn't read them fast enough and I too hated the clutter. I'd find myself so involved in my books that I neglected my magazines. I do spend hours on end in Barnes and Noble at least once a month. Parting with my books, mostly hardcover is very hard for me but I do donate a lot of my large print paperbacks to different assisted living places and nursing homes.

Some of my books I love so much that I reread them annually and if I gave them away I'd feel as if I was losing a good friend. Probably sounds silly.

My DH turned one room in our house into a library with wall to wall, ceiling to floor glass front bookcases as a gift for me for me as a combination anniversay and Christmas gift.

Cookbooks - Ones with lots of pictures of healthy food!

Books for me too :thumbsup2 I love browsing through bookstores and am constantly ordering through Amazon. It is my one big splurge.

And herbal tea.

But then the two kind of go hand in hand, don't you think?

My shopping weakness is Target :lmao:. I almost never leave there for less than $50 bucks even if I am going in just for a small item like face wash.

I am trying so hard to get better but I love the $1 spot and the clearance clothes rack.

Books here, too. And bookmarks! I LOVE bookmarks!

For those of you who have trouble getting rid of them, check your local library. Ours collects books and magazines for their quarterly book sales. (Just don't go to the sale, or it will start all over again!)

My other weekness: counted cross stich stuff. I never have time anymore to sit and do it, but let me browse in a good store (like Strawberry Sampler in Chadds Ford PA), and I'm out a ton of money! (They carry cool frames, too.) I just called to replace a frame I lost for a project for my dd, and bought two more things to do!!!

That doesn't sound silly at all - I always re-read my books. And some are on an annual rotation. I very rarely give books away, unless I really know I will never read it again.

Mine's office supplies. All the girls from work buy me staples gift cards. Staples is soooo much better than "those other two". It's sad when x-mas is over and I have like 10 staples gift cards. My DH always puts a little note on the gift card that says "if you buy one more basket I'm leaving" I always buy another basket and he never leaves. :goodvibes

Thx for such a fun fluff thread MIGrandma! :thumbsup2

Shopping for our grandchildren.....first place I head in a store ~ the kids dept, be it clothes, toys, books! :cloud9:

Coats & jackets ~ I'm knows as the 'coat queen'! Must have been born in a barn, as I can never seem to have enough! :lmao:

Greeting cards ~ love them and always shopping to find perfect ones to keep on hand!

Disney stores or Disneystore.com ~ love browsing their clothing and goodies! :goodvibes

Vera Bradley anything
Karen Neuberger PJ;s
and can't pass up a good chocolate store or fudge shop.

Shoes right now... especially black pumps. Just last week I bought 4 pairs of shoes and bought 2 more the week prior.

I'm a magazine junkie but I just subscribe to them. I'm rarely in stores that sell magazines so I don't know when they hit the stands or not. I have 16 subscriptions right now. I get so excited when they come in the mail!!

Children's Clothes, Books, Office Supplies and Food.

I roate my obsessions. The last 6 months I put myself on a very tight budget while we were getting ready to buy the house. Now we have little money for extra's while we get Must Haves for the new house so I am safe now.

I used to be a HUGE Sucker for Gymboree kids clothes. Goodness help me when they do the Gymbucks. Luckily I have learned that if I just stay away from the store and website I am fine. When I lived in Florida my friend there was so much worse than I was that it was horrible when we went shopping together. I would get DS sensible pieces that matched and sometimes needed a whole outfit because it was so cute ... she was obsessed and would get ALL the pieces down to the underwear (for a 2 year old that isn't potty trained yet!)

I always buy a book in BJ's, Target etc but I haven't been in a reading mood in the last month or so which is good. Cuts back.

Now I am on a project kick. I have been decorating DS's room in the new house and buy just about everything I see with a Cars theme on it for the room. Coming along well if I do say so myself. Now I am getting ready to move onto the Master and the Nursery.

My weakness has to do with anything creative. Don't let me near a Michaels, JoAnns or a home decor store. Yesterday, I went to Michaels to kill some time prior to a meeting. I spent $187. Crazy!

Books and magazines, definitely. My house is lined with books and I have a ton of magazine subscriptions: Cooking Light, Food and Wine, Fine Cooking (my favorite), Bon Appetit, Martha Stewart, the New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Caribbean Travel and Life, and Entertainment Weekly. I send the magazines on to other people once I read them. I have my "permanent collection" of books--mostly classics, references, and the categories I collect, plus a few special novels that I don't share. I'll loan out pretty much anything else I own, and I usually cull my collection about twice a year and donate the books to charity or to the library for their book sale.

My other big shopping weakness is cheese. I have to be really careful in the cheese shop. I'll go in for one or two things and come out with 12 different cheeses! It's the samples...I taste something and then I have to buy it! Cheese shop=danger!

Office supplies?!?! You girls have to got to be kidding!

Purses, books, shoes, clothes, make-up--those I can understand wanting to buy. But folders and pens? I'm sorry, but I don't get it! :upsidedow

magazines are my #1 weakness. I'm trying to quit, but I do have a few subscriptions that tide me over. I have to remind myself in the store at checkout that they are too expensive when I add them all up.
