I personally selected 90+. In some cases, I may not plan a vacation 7 months out, but 3 or 4 months out instead. Also, 6 months allows a lot of time for menu changes, cancellations, etc.

Hey there ByTheBlood!

After the one year where my family and I got totally shut out due to the inception of the Disney Dining Plan we now make our ADRs as far in advance as possible! :surfweb:

If, for some reason in the future, plans change or you decide you don't want to do a particular restaurant or something takes priority you can always cancel ... but it is a near impossibility to get a reservation on short notice. :cool2:

Hi to You too! :) It seems like if everybody was using the 90+10 policy, it would work the same way as 180+10. Everybody would be making their reservations 90 days out instead of 180. I am not sure I understand how that would tie up all of the reservations when your (generally speaking) 90+10 comes around. :confused3

The only way I can see this causing an issue would be if you are caught in the change from 180 to 90, or vise versa. That would stink.

I voted 180. Since we are DVC, I am already in planning mode at 11 and/or 7 months anyway. Truthfully though, if Disney were to change it to 90 it wouldn't bother me either way.

for 90 + 10. We are always prepared at 180 days because we feel we have to be but would prefer the shorter planning period.

Of course I can tell you almost our whole itinerary for our trip out west July 2012. We return from our WDW trip June 30th and can make our Grand Canyon hotel reservations for that trip July 1st.

I voted 180 + 10....I'm a super planner and we usually do the DxDP, so I'm on the phone at exactly 180 days just to make sure we get everything we want. Works for us, but I can understand why some don't like it at all.

It doesn't matter to me as long as accurate park schedules are available before the reservation window opens. I dislike that I've already made my reservations for our October trip and the Food & Wine Festival schedule has yet to be published.

We spend a lot of money on the Disney trips and we always plan on going at least a year in advance (except out very first trip). Part of the fun for us is the planning which includes the ADR's. We like knowing what and when we are going to eat each day of the trip. The sooner I can get that planned out and confirmed, the better I feel about the whole thing.

When we planned our DS's trip, they changed ADR's to 90 + 10 and I hated every moment of it. I kept feeling like I was missing something and it really freaked me out. Don't like it, don't like it, really don't like it.

We plan on coming back the last week of October 2013 and the kids have already put in their choices for restaurants to eat at.

I think the issue is that more people are planning at 90 days out than 180, so you are competing with more people for ressies at 90 days.

At 180 days, you have the diehard planners and those that know ressies have to be made if they want to eat. At 90 days, you have the diehard planners, those that know that ressies have to be made if they want to eat, those who never plan more than 3 or 4 months out and the newbies who have never been before.

Unless I'm missing something (which is totally possible!) I don't see the difference at all. EVERYONE would be doing either 90+10 or 180+10 - so no difference to me. I voted for the 90+10 because I would rather book things somewhat close to the time that I'm actually going, not half a year before!!! Its torture!!!!!!

I like the 180+10 because it is a lot easier to get into the more hard to get restaurants than if it was the 90+10 (at least this has been our personal experience) :goodvibes.

I voted 90 +, but what Disneybabies said made me rethink it. I hadn't thought about more people trying to make ressies at the same time. I'm an early planner (I think that's a big part of the fun!) so 180 + doesn't bother me at all. I did just fine when it was 90, but I think 180 is better now. Thanks Disneybabies!

Can I vote that whatever the booking date is, Disney releases acurate park times (and most importantly Fantasmic day/times) so I'm not freaking out the week before when they change something? :rotfl2:

I prefer 180 + because, as some PPs have noted, at 90 days there are more people out there who have made their trip plans between the 180 and 90 day mark. Accordingly, there is more more competition for restaurant slots. Since we usually make our plans at least 6 months ahead I prefer to get ahead of the later planners.

I've done reservations at both, and 90+ was so stressful, as it was much harder to get. If you plan at least more than 3 months in advance, then 180+ is better.

I like 90 better because we often don't know for sure at 180 when/if we'll be able to go because of DH's work schedule. I still book our ADRs at 180 out and more than once have had to cancel a whole trip's worth when we had to change plans, but I really don't like doing it that way. I'd much rather just book ADRs when we book our trip but as it stands right now availability is so slim by that point that I don't dare because I don't want to get stuck with the choice of counter service or traveling to inconvenient locations for meals.

I voted for 90. 180 days ahead I either don't have a trip booked yet, or I end up changing everything anyway, though that does give me an extra three months to play with my times. I personally wouldn't mind if they got rid of ADRs altogether, and just made everything first come first serve, or day of ADRs.

I voted 90 because 180 is just ridiculous to plan meals. I liked it so much better before WDW went to 180 days.

I see posts all the time on here about people changing their party size after ADRs are made, causing them to have redo them or fear that they won't be seated. A lot of this would go away if they made it 90 days.
