What is your ONE best WDW moment

My cousin was married in WDW in May 2003, I was one of her bridesmaids. I was wearing a light blue dress and had my hair up. After the reception I was standing in the loby of the Yacht Club waiting for other family members, when a little girl came up to me and asked if she could take a picture with me. She then asked which princess I was. I was so flattered. princess:

My favorite memory happened on our second trip to WDW, first one home at DVC. We were at MK and at about 9pm DW took the 2 burned out DDs6 back to OKW. DS7 and I stayed at the park to take advantage of the small crowd and we were going back and forth between Splash Mt. and BTMRR and walking on. DS had just made the height limit and was lovin' it. At one point when were were walking between the rides, he looked back at me with a huge smile and said, "I'm havin' the time of my life! Just me an' Dad hanging out at DW." I knew right then that DVC was the best money I ever spent. DS is all grown up now and getting ready to leave the nest for college next fall. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to make those magical memories when they were little.

Many years ago they had Mickey's Halloween Treat at Disneyland. DH and I dressed up as Raggedy Ann and Andy. Little kids were waving at us - we felt like one of the Disney characters! We went into Toontown and there were bunches of characters there. I went to the restroom and as I'm fixing my face someone comes running in to tell me to get out there - Huey Dewey and Louie want to see me! They had seen Andy, and wanted to see Annie. They seemed quite impressed, and then stole my teddy bear backpack and played keep-away for a bit - kids were watching and laughing. Then Roger Rabbit and Minnie Mouse showed up and took a pic with us - RR is DH's fave character and MM is mine! That picture - of the four "characters" is one I dearly love and is hanging in my hallway. We wanted to stay and play with out new friends all night!

Of course there are sooo many memories - I'll have to create some new screen names and share them..... ;)

Mine has to do with WWTBAM too. We were there in 2001 at the hight of the show's popularity. At the end of the show, they show the board, and I was #1. My DS was so excited that for two days after all I heard was "Dad's going to get in the hot seat, dad's going to get in the hot seat... When we retured to the show, after hearing this for two days, (no preasure) I was lucky enough to make it into the hot seat. When the emcee asked who I was there with, I pointed out my family, and on the screen I saw the incredible look of pride on my DS face. Something I will never forget. I lost at the 500,000 point level, but that mattered little. I was, for that moment, my sons hero. That was Magic!

The funniest moment for our family was touring Discovery Island (that dates it to begin with) and one of the small monkeys line up my DS (about 10 at the time) and peed on him. At first he didn't know what is was, such a tiny little stream, but then we all realized at the same moment what it was. As gross as it was, it was hysterical. :rotfl:

Seeing my son 22 months at the time and my husband walk down main street hand in hand and thinking of the days when my beautul parents(now gone) would take all of us to Disney and I could not believe it was my turn to take my family.

The one best moment is easy, although in general I didn't enjoy the trip. The one best moment was the first time I went to Disney and saw the signs welcoming me to Disney. It evokes thoughts of magic, dreams that could come true. Now the actual trip was in late July 1995 with the temperatures in the upper 90s / lower 100s. It was crowded, it took almost 2 hours to get on some rides. I felt like I walked into a mall with all the commercial activities. This was suppose to be fun? A friend recommended giving Disney another try and I went about 1 1/2 years later at Xmas time. I have been going yearly since but none of these experiences, even though more enjoyable than my first trip, as memorable a moment as the first time that I went to Disney and just saw the signs which indicated, that yes, I am here.

awwww.... :goodvibes

Hubby asking me to marry him in Cinderella's castle. princess:

For my girls it has to be when Mary Poppins and Bert asked them to join them for a ride on the carousel. They took their hands and walked them straight thru Fantasyland right up onto the carousel. It was right outta the movie. AWESOME!

The Beach Club is special to us as we stayed there with our friends and family for our wedding at the Pavilion in 2001. When I became pregnant and my due date was May 2003 we figured we would have to skip our WDW trip for that year.

However, when DD came along she was such a good, easy baby we booked 14 nights at The Beach Club for early December. It was our best trip ever, slow paced and relaxed.

My favourite memory was one morning at the character breakfast in Cape May Cafe. DD 6 months had been cooing and smiling at the characters. It was a quiet day so she got lots of attention. One of the chipmunks (must have been a mummy chipmunk!) held her and rocked her while DH and I ate. DD loved it! The chipmunk came back over and over to hold our baby, and even pretended to take off with her. We have some precious photos. It was amazing!

DD is now 21 months and has been to WDW 3 times. (Not bad considering we travel from England) Every trip is a joy. People at home think we are nuts, but Disney make a trip with a baby so easy.

I have to share one...but it really doesn't count since it happened after we got home from our last trip to the World.

We have a sleigh bed in our master bedroom. DS4 was playing in there (watching Playhouse Disney no doubt). He knows he's not supposed to stand on the bed or play around the footboard (it has been scratched and has a couple of bite marks from when he was a toddler!).

I catch him in there, straddling the footboard with his legs. When I asked him to stop, he laid down on the top of the footboard...left arm/leg on one side...right arm/leg on the other side and starting scooting from one end to the other. When I asked him what on earth he was doing, he said, "Mom, I'm a Monorail!"

Mine is from our very first trip to BCV in Sept 2002, and a surprisingly similar story to AmyBeth68!

During our trip we went to the MK and had a very magical day! It was VERY slow, walk on for many things! We ate lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table and Cinderella was in the lobby shortly after we got our meal and our waiter wispered this in to my ear! So, I went down stairs and had a pic taken with Cinderella, while sitting with her I mentioned that a pic of her from the day parde was my wallpaper on my computer and she was my FAVORITE! There was no one else waiting to see her (can you believe that!!) so, she took a guide map, circled a spot on the parade route and told me she would look for me during the parade (by the way, I am in my mid 30's!). So, we got a spot for the parade, and sure enough, she looked for and remebered me!!
She blew me several kisses and pointed at me to have Prince Charming wave and send a kiss! My husband said I was actually jumping up and down during this!!

So, I was drifting on clouds for the rest of the day! It is nice to see the magic still happens :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

There are so many, but here's the most recent Best Moment for me:

In December I went with my best pal, Elaine, left my teenagers home. As I really like Off Kilter, of course we went to hear them play. I absolutely adore Mark, the Bass player for the band. I've been photographed with the whole band, but never had the nerve (besides it seemed sorta rude to the others) to ask for a picture of me and Mark alone.

Well at the 7:30 show someone was videotaping the band, and evidently Mark knew them, because after the show only he came down to say hi to them. I figured this was my big chance, so I waited for him to finish with the people he seemed to know. He posed for some photos with them, said goodbye and began to walk away. I am not a shy person, and didn't want to blow this opportunity, so I walked over and asked if he'd mind posing with me. He said he'd be more than happy to. He comes over to me and puts his arm around me and I put mine around him. And then the best part, LOL, my friend had problems using the camera. So I got to stand there for an extra long time while she figured out what how to get it work, all the while with Mark and me standing there for over a minute with our arms around each other. <swoon> I apologized for making him wait, but he was SO nice and said not to worry one bit, it was fine. Finally she got it right, the photo was taken, and he gave me a hug <double swoon> and left with a smile.

The picture turned out just OK--he looks great (naturally!), I look so-so (but I admit to being super critical of pics of myself) plus since it was dark the focus is off a tad (I think that's why the camera was having problems, it was the last show and it was very dark. This seemed to affect the meter in the camera, and, evidently, the focus). I wish the photo was better, although it's clearly me and him it would have been great if it was 100% sharp. But it's still great that I have a photo of us at all. And more importantly I will never forget the feeling of standing next to and holding onto that cutie for so long. I told my friend afterwards that I could not have been happier if it was George Clooney, that's how much I think of Mark Weldon. (Are you reading this Mark? I'm single!! :love2: :goodvibes ;)

Our very first trip to WDW was in 1983 (I had to go look that up, can't believe it was so long ago), when our children were 4 & 5.....I will NEVER forget the moment we walked into the MK and we all saw the CASTLE!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in AWE and that moment will be forever be embedded in my mind!!! The kids eyes just light up and so did Mom's and Dad's. Like some others I still get goosebumps each time we enter the MK. I am tearing up here just remembering that moment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine was walking onto Main Street with my 13 month old son. We tried for 5 years to have a baby. Every trip to DIsney during that time was sad for me. I would want to cry when I saw other parents showing their babies the Magic of Disney. I was so upset I couldn't have my own baby to bring on our annual trip to WDW.

When I finally found out I was pregnant, I couldn't wait to go back to Disney with my baby! We went for one last trip with just DH and myself when I was pregnant, but that didn't count. :) On DS's first "official" trip, right after checking in, we ran to the MK. After going under the train station and walking onto Main Street, I cried because I was so happy. Seeing my own baby in awe as he looked at the Castle for the first time was amazing. I am not an openly emotional person and this still tears me up 5 years later!

My wife was chosen to participate in MGM's Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. She's a terrific ham, and they had her do lots of running around and shrieking. Huge fun.

AmyBeth68 & kweaver,
What cute stories!

My most magical was a late PS at the castle. While we were seated they dimmed the lights and turned up the music for Wishes and we seemed to be in the midst of the show.
I had just expected we would miss the fireworks being in the castle so it was magical to immersed in them instead.

On our second trip to WDW we were watching the night parade and Snow White walked by us and stopped to give DD a kiss on the cheek. DD had lipstick marks and wouldn't let us wash her face that night. It was very magical and we thought Snow White to be the perfect princess for picking our DD.

I remember the most magical time well!!!
It was my first trip ever to WDW.
I was sitting on the balcony of our lagoon front (now Hawaii building) Poly room, drinking wine and minding my own business.

Suddenly, there was an Octopus out in the lagoon and weird music...just for me and my soon to be (he proposed the next night) fiancee!!!! We had no idea about the Water Pageant, we'd had a LOT of wine and stuff, and it was just PERFECT!

There are so many wonderful moments - but the absolute best was being picked as Grand Marshals of the afternoon parade at MK in January 2003 - on the day we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary! That same day we returned to our hotel room to find flowers and a congrats card from the hotel (Polynesian) plus a message on our phone that we had been upgraded for the Wonder cruise leaving the next day! Wow!
