What is your not so normal item to pack, which is helpful while at WDW ?

Question: Someone way back in the thread mentioned glow lights as opposed to glow sticks. Basically permanent glow stick bracelets. I cant find these anywhere in HK or on the web. My Google-fu has failed me (as has Amazon). Anyone know if glow light is the correct term for these? As I keep getting glow sticks instead.

Maybe try "LED lights bracelets" or "LED jewelry". Those work with tiny cell batteries which usually come with the product. Hope that helps

Prior to going put some dish washing liquid on a sponge. Leave it to dry. Then cut into small squares and pack. These work AMAZING for washing cups and bottles out. No need to bring the actual dish washing liquid with you.

My favorite travel items can all be found at the Dollar Tree.

1.) Collapsible hamper (folds flat on bottom of suitcase)
2.) Folding fabric "drawer" (for keys, camera, change, etc. in the hotel room)
3.) Two pack of rain ponchos
4.) Suction cup hooks for wet bathing suits or clothes in shower
5.) Bubble wrap for souvenirs (unroll flat for packing on the way)

An empty cinch bag folded up in the stroller. We always leave the parks with a lot more than which we came. When it comes time to get on the bus, we just throw everything in the empty bag, fold up the stroller and hop on the bus. We can sort it out when we get to the room and have the empty bag again the next day.

i bought extra cell phone batteries online. using park apps for info is awesome but can drain your battery. you add in fiddeling with your phone while in line and it's dead by 2. it's not a concern if you can just pop in a fully charged one. you just have remember to charge both when you get back to your room.

This is a perfect thing to do! I did this my last trip 3 weeks ago, and it saved me some headaches! I was able to take pictures and videos, plus use the park apps without worry of a dying battery. For my next trip (hopefully in May), I will most likely will purchase another battery and charger just for the added back up!

We did this last time and it was wonderful. The other thing we added to the bag was the matching hair band.

We do this too - I have 2 young girls. I packed everything but shoes: shirt, pants, panties, socks, hairband. LIke you said it's grab and go!

Me too! I read an article once written by someone in Europe where these are apparently much more common and their point was everyone advocates for putting their dogs on a leash for their(the dogs)protection, they dont know not to run away or run in traffic etc and is the sign of a caring pet owner why should it be different for your children? I'd much rather deal with stares then have that feeling of dread when I can't find my child in a crowd!

My daughter hates the child leases, but my 2 yr old DGD doesn't like to be pent up in the stroller all day. I'm in an ECV @ the parks, that I keep on slow so I don't run over anyone, so I think I'm going to get one for our upcoming trip. When the little one gets antsy, we can take her out and stretch her legs, without losing her. =)

Oh I love this thread! Thanks for all the great ideas and if I would happen to use all of them that I like I'd have to rent a Uhaul ! I, and I know several others, have taken their own coffee pots and toasters and never had an issue. I did ask Disney a few years back about crock pots and they said no in the standard rooms. The only thing I have a hard time with, on this thread and on other threads, is how rude people can be to others. People on this thread are just trying to give helpful information to others and there is no need to be rude when replying to their comment maybe some individuals should be a little nicer. I just wish some people would think before they type and post !

Can't forget to mention Body Glide. It's great to prevent inner thigh chafing from all that walking in shorts!!!!

Not sure if this has already been mentioned- this is a super long thread! But regular deodorant works for this, too! I usually reapply throughout the day.

We stay DVC so we don't get cleaning everyday..Therefore I bring those 3M hooks to put on the walls so everyone has a place to hang up their towels to dry! Works great and doesn't damage the walls.

loving all these ideas!

- We take a small screw driver and an in wall outlet adapter. We also take a power strip. The problem we have is that the outlets at the resorts get so much use that they usually won't hold the plug firmly and these offer a perfect solution.

- The collapsing clothes hampers are a must.
- Extra garbage bags and ziplocs.

- Probably the most unconventional item we pack is a convertible hand truck. We drive down in our van and generally stay DVC and basically move in. Once we get to our resort or when we are leaving I don't like to wait on a luggage cart to become available and these things are perfect. I use the type that fold down.
