My DS9 and I are heading down in Sept. We ALWAYS overpack. So this year we are going to try to limit ourselves each to our carry-on, backpacks and one suitcase each. Help us figure out what is a must Pack for you and what is not? Because, obviously I can't do it alone!!! Thanks

My own blowdryer...the ones in the rooms are pitiful.

Tim Hortons coffee (I'm canadian~whaddya want:lmao: ) and my own soap.
If I could fit my pillow in my suitcase, it would come too.

DD (23 and a clothes horse) and I will be down in Sept for 8 days. We will have oversized beach-type bags each for carry-ons and 1 26" rolling duffle each. The duffles will only be about 2/3 full to leave room for the inevitable souveniers. We pack:

3 pr of bottoms (shorts/skorts/capris) with 2 matching tops for each
1 or 2 extra tops that match the bottoms we wear on the plane
Undies for 8 days
2 pr pjs - 1 in carryon - 1 in duffle
3 pr flip flops/light sneakers/sandals plus pr we wear on plane
2 gal size ziplocks hold all our sundries - sunscreen, hairspray, OTC medicines, bandaids, wrinkle release, hand sanitizer, ponchos, stain stick etc - 1 goes in each duffle
2 qt ziplocks in our carryons - hold all makeup stuff in one - toothpaste, rinse in the other

thats it - we're done.

Joined Overpackers Anonymous a long time ago and am happy to report I've been "clean and sober" 3 years now!!;)

My pillow.
I always use the Travel Space Bags to gain room in my suitcase for it. You'd be amazed how compress you can make your pillow to fit the bag.

Me. Just me. I go on vacation to get away from the stuff at home :teeth:

Okay, fine, I bring some clothes, shoes, and toiletries. The only specific "I can't live without" is Garnier conditioner.

I always have to pack a little fan. I need some white noise so I can sleep.

Medicines. I always take a gallon bag with allergy, stomach stuff (pepto, Imodium that sort of stuff), headache, benadryl cream, neosporin, etc. Those things are very expensive and if you don't have a car its not a guarantee the gift shops at the resorts will have the brand you want. So if there is something that you prefer for any ailment, take it. Better safe than sorry.

I also make sure everyone has two pairs of shoes. That way if they get wet or you begin to get a blister, you have a backup.

And a lightweight jacket. Even in the summer, I have almost always needed one for my dd who is cold natured (the ac gets her every time). Naturally they sell those things at the gift shops but they are so pricey!

I don't pack as many clothes as I used to, I can always do a load of laundry at the pool.

Sunblock, sun glasses, my own shampoo and cleanser, tooth brushes, camera, my DD's Bear (usually they're inseparable but, last year we could not find just before leaving for airport  ) , moleskin(we have needed it multiple times), cell phone chargers, zip lock bags, and the last trip ...Pop Tarts - same DD was addicted.:)

We always take our noise machine to cover-up outside noise at night.

Definitely, can relate to overpacking! My DH informed me today that I needed to limit the number of bags that we are taking. We are leaving the first of September and my list is already over three pages.

I think I may try to practice pack and see how much I can squish into three suitcases. Wish me luck! :goodvibes

If you have electronics, take a power strip :)

Surger protector. Something to catch the end of the day junk. Closet rod organizer to keep things off the bathroom counter. Therma care heat wraps. A scented tea light that doesn't get lit, but adds a nice scent to the hotel room. It all fits into a gallon ziplock bag.

I do toss an oversized pashimina and an inflatable pillow into the carry-on, but that's for comfort on the plane.

Okay, I need sleep. I read this exactly as it was written ("gallon bag"), but I pictured it as one of the big trash bags - and couldn't figure out why you're bringing THAT much health & beauty aids! :umbrella:

We can't sleep if it is very quiet so we always bring a small 7" fan that we bought at Target for about $15.00. It stays in the suitcase so it is ready for every trip. As far as pillows are concerned, we thought the pillows were so wonderful at the Boardwalk that we took the mfg tag off and ordered some when we got home. WDW is the only place we go that we don't take pillows.
My other must is bath oil. I have forgotten it before and missed it terribly. I also usually take a candle to put in the bathroom when I take my late night bath. Just make it very relaxing.
