What is your must do while on you Disney Vacation?

One of our must dos is that we have to take a picture of our kids in the steel Mickey ears statue in back of Contemporary Resort. We have been taking their picture there every trip since they were 6 and 4 (they will be 13 and 10 at the time of our next trip). It is kind of like our growth chart for the kids. I love seeing how close their feet are to touch the ground while sitting in the ears. The first time they took the picture, I had to help them both up on each ear, now they can get up there with no problems....such great memories we have through the years with each one of the pictures :goodvibes.

A few that I can think of:
Our trips have always started somewhere in the last two weeks of Sept, and must be on site ;)

Must rope drop MK to see the park opening show!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Last full day is MK. Gotta end with the best, even though it tends to be a little sad on that last night.

<---- Family photo in front of Sorcerer Mickey Hat

Once each kid is tall enough to ride RnRC we get a photo of them in front of the big guitar while giving the "hang loose" sign

Beside the headliners, some must do “less popular” attractions: People Mover, HoP, Sum of all thrills, Turtle Talk, Animation Academy

Sharing a low carb Monster Energy Drink in the mornings

Hitting the resort pool after a full day at the park.

A mixed drink by the resort pool at night

Food related:
Arrival afternoon/evening is spent at Epcot with dinner at Coral Reef

At least one HS day includes a boat ride to the Beach Club and Cape May’s

At least one MK day includes a monorail ride to the Polynesian and Ohanas

At least one MK night is spent sticking around after park close/Wishes and having a treat from the bakery (ice cream, cookie, etc…) and waiting for the crowds to disperse. So relaxing.

AK lunch at Flame Tree BBQ (preferably in the outlook area down by the water/river)

A new fav is BOG lunch, and Columbia Harbor House is still a must do for lunch at MK, and Sunshine Seasons at EP

The drawing class at DHS. We do this every trip and enjoy seeing how much our drawings have improved quality-wise.

We must stay on-site, would never dream of staying anywhere else. Once there, we absolutely must go to one or both of the water parks, couldn't imagine doing a trip without spending a day at one of them. BB is my favorite Disney park!

DH's is that we always close down MK on the last night of our trip and DH "says good-bye to Walt". That man LOVES his tradition of saying good-bye to Walt late at night.:cool1:

We also would never miss Illuminations. Positively love it!

It's really fun reading everyone's "must dos".

For DH and I (ages 48 and 46), we've only taken 2 trips and our 3rd is next month. We really don't have must see things. We are on vacation, so our "must do" is have fun, enjoy the parks, eat good food, enjoy the weather, and have more fun. LOL. Seriously, we don't get too bent out of shape if we don't get to do something, but we thoroughly enjoy everything that we do.

Love it! We've done many of these and this list reminds me of my own good times. This is the stuff that matters, not that FP+ limits the number of times that I can ride RnRC.

We also must take time to sarcastically comment on how surprised we are that there is no wait for Living the Land

Hilarious! I just woke up my wife from laughing at this.

As a SoCal boy and a long time Disneyland Annual Passholder, my huge must do at WDW is the Country Bear Jamboree. That particular attraction brings back so many fantastic childhood memories of times spent with my family that I would probably reschedule a WDW vacation if that was going to be down during my visit. Other must dos are Spaceship Earth and Festival of the Lion King (hope this is back by January!). We aren't so much into the thrill rides as the whole Disney experience and theming.

I definitely agree with you! We have our most memorable moments just hanging out as a family and my hubby & I love to just watch our kids and the smiles on their faces! My oldest who is 18 reminded me that breakfast at Chef Mickey's is a must - he is still excited about seeing the characters. And being the mom of two boys I love that they consider one of the "must do" things is letting their mom have a girly moment at the Castle or somewhere to meet Cinderella! And of course we make time for all the nighttime fireworks shows every visit.

So much fun reading everyone's list!:lovestruc

I don't mean to be thread poster hog, but I would like to add to mine:

there are days when I was at WDW or DL that I would just ride the train around. for no particular reason. and I saw many others do the same.

I know the story, but seeing Beauty and the Beast in HS is my first thing I do in that park.

I walk around the Tree of Life every visit, just marveling at the art.

I NEVER fail to wonder on the safari adventure if the Zebra is black and white, or white and black.

CoP-----------I sing Great big beautiful tomorrow after every visit.

and, most importantly,
Now matter what bench you sit on, seeing how the disadvantaged and sick children visiting under very difficult circumstances are treated is the biggest eye opener.
They are treated like royalty, and I realize I have life too good sometimes, and that I need to be more thankful.

Getting a a gingerbread shingle from the gingerbread house in the GF right after check in.

Than drop off our stuff at the room, change to park gear and take the monorail over to MK to pick up a new TiW card and just wander around the park no commando or anything, just soak it all in. After a few hours head back to our room and have dinner at Citrico's and watch Wishes from our balcony that's how we start our trip.

Also love waking up that first morning in the world stepping out on the balcony and hearing the noise from MK. Than walk downstairs to grab a egg sandwich and enjoy the smells of the GF.

For me, it has to be Haunted Mansion, a few times if possible. After that I would say absolutely ToT, again multiple times.

I also have to get a churro, and my DGF has to get a Mickey Pretzel

:thumbsup2

Carousel of Progress. My husband and I love it.

Mickey bars

Popcorn and diet coke at MK (it's standard popcorn but it tastes better somehow)

Obligatory shot in front of the character totem pole at WL -- similar to another poster, this is our growth chart of my son and nephew/ niece.

Used to be the (non flash) shot of the Viva Christina in Mexico but now that's been replaced -- I will never forgive Donald for that one lol
