All this talk of costumes has me remembering some of mine.
I think the one that is the most memorable to me was in Jr. High-either 7th or 8th grade, can't remember which. My MOTHER decided I was going to be a hula dancer. She had found this bright pink hula skirt and made me a hot pink tube top and I wore that to school!
I was not one to show much skin and I was embarrassed and kept tugging at that top the whole day. My friends were all shocked that I had something so risque. And to make things worse, my skirt was shedding! Everywhere I went I left a trail of bright pink grass.
And even better? I grew up in Central Illinois. Halloween there usually means long underwear and coats with your costume! I think I ended up with sweats and a turtleneck for ToT with the hula stuff on top, after freezing all day at school. To this day I have no idea what my mother was thinking. That costume was so not me! I think the other year I was a baby and wore the full one piece footed jammies-- that was more my style!
