What is your indulgence?

I love my morning 24 ounce WAWA decaf with fat free milk and sugar and can't seem to give it up even though it has as many calories as a small meal:goodvibes

So I was wondering what sort of indulgences do other people have?

pedicures.

I treat myself every month to month and a half.

Hmmmm, it's about time for another.

Oh another indulgence is paying our "tax man" to do our taxes. I used to do them, and just take a standard deduction. Then my husband got talking to our tax guy who told him all of the things we can itemize and deduct on our taxes. He even went back and amended some returns for us from previous years and got us more money back. He always does a good job, gives us advice throughout the year, and does them for us at a great discount. He is well worth the $150 I pay each year. I totally understand everything he does, but I am so glad not to have the headache.

I indulge in a grande, iced, nonfat white mocha from Starbuck's about once a month! They are delicious.

Stupid, I know, but concerts. I could literally hit a live show (at least) once every weekend. But I don't because tickets are so expensive. I try to find lesser-known (cheaper) bands to see or otherwise restrain myself. I'm currently trying to talk myself down from buying Jackson Browne when I have 3 other sets of tickets in my possession!

Disney's Yacht Club, club level, water view, 7 nights once a year. :cool1:

Weekly dinner & a movie date nights with my DH. :goodvibes

pedicures, yummy lotions, a Coke each morning, and 2 vacations a year...no matter what. I would give up just about everything else I buy to make sure I get those.

This.
My job is severely cutting into my show schedule. My husband and I sit for hours with our computers waiting on tour dates and tickets to be released. When I'm not at concerts, I'm listening to live shows on my iPod. We've always enjoyed it, but we really got the bug last year. We live stream concerts when we have to miss them, read set lists to each other over the phone, etc. It's really sad. But, this is how I justify it. We both work really hard and we never go on "date nights" like some couples do. Our dates are sending our son to the grandparents and hopping on a plane to see Phish in Chicago.

Desserts of all kinds.

Hershey's cotton candy ice cream. :lovestruc

We can't find them anymore -- the few stores that do carry them sell out almost immediately. Last week DH happened to go to the store when they got some in, so he bought a whole case of them for me. :lmao: No worries, I've been rationing them and not pigging out on them, although it is tempting.

An ice cold Carolina Blonde beer, re-runs of Beverly Hills 90210 watched from bed in the morning on the weekends, and a nice long shower with no lights on after a really good, sweaty run (weird I know).

Sparkling water. :lovestruc Sometimes with a slice of lemon or lime, squeezed.

Flavored creamers for my coffee, or sometimes flavored beans, fresh ground.

Netflix movies.

Afternoon naps.

Lazy afternoon car drives to nowhere in particular, stopping for lunch or dinner out at a new restaurant we've never tried before.

A vacation (cruise, Disney, cabin in the Smoky Mts., etc.) once or twice yearly.

All good stuff. Isn't it funny how the little things in life make it so much more enjoyable?

Oh, another one of mine is I actually stop and make sure I actually do really take time to smell the roses, well not just roses but any flower I come across and I also make a mental note as each new species of tree blooms, last week it was the magnolias and this week it was the tulips and dogwoods. I know it's little but it makes life so much sweeter to watch it unfold.

Zazz- the Stop and Shop brand seltzer. Not exactly an indulgance, because it's calorie free and only 40-50 cents a bottle, but when you buy 20 a week, I guess one can consider it an indulgence!
Also, going out to dinner. It's a terrible habit of mine and DBF's that we have to break.

Diet Coke, plants & flowers for my yard. I spend a small fortune each week at the local nursery

Hershey's cotton candy ice cream. :lovestruc
Plain old cotton candy for me. I'm the only adult I know who loves cotton candy. And I'm not afraid to eat it either....right there in front of everyone.

Well, at least your husband is on your side. Mine is about to divorce me. Oh well.
