I thought this would make for a nice fluff thread and perhaps the responses would be fun to read.

What is your happy place? Where is the place that your mind continually wanders to when thinking of good times and happiness? Perhaps a particular place you would return to... or maybe some place you would just like to go. Perhaps a particular point in time when you were very happy and wish you could experience again. Why is this place so special for you?

When you sit back and relax, what is the one happy place you think of?

Cute idea! :)

My happy place is Hawaii - DH and I went right after college graduation, then again for our honeymoon last year. When I think back, I always think of lying by the pool at the Hilton Waikeloa Village, the waves crashing behind me, the hot sun on my face, the feeling of being thousands of miles away from work!!

The thought always makes me smile, whenever I want to cheer myself up, this is what I think of!

May sound stupid but I think about the last time MSEP was at MK and
me and my wife and two DD seen both parades.

I think back about how much fun and electricity was in the air :thumbsup2

I can still see the floats and hear the music.

Ron.

Neat idea....
Hmmm... I always think about my 'next' trip to DIsney.... I think that's what takes me to my happy place, knowing that I *will* be back, even if I"m not sure when :goodvibes

This is a fairly recent one. My boyfriend's birthday was May 22nd and he had to take a day trip for work down to Miami. He called me the night before to ask if I'd like to go with him. It wasn't the greatest trip weather-wise or luck-wise (one of the tires on the trailer he was towing had a blow out) but it was nice to be together talking for that trip and get along for that long of a road trip and he spoiled me that day. It also seems to have been a turning point in the relationship for him since ever since then, he's been spending more time with me and being a lot more affectionate when we see each other.

I was there that night as well! DH and I went to see the last showing of the Main Street Electrical parade. I camped out our spot something like 3 hours ahead. During the parade a light (or one of the little pieces of plastic around the lights) fell off a float. Hubby got it for me and I still have the light from the MSEP in a jewelry box in our room. Just because it reminds me of the parade and DH being sweet enough to get the light for me. :goodvibes

But my happy place is somewhere different. I'll post is later though.

The beach. Always. Not the Body Beaches.. the northern beaches where its cool, and the wind blows, and there are no people and I can sit and watch the sea lions and wonder about whats on the other side. Ive been doing that since I can remember....

(I'd like to formally predict that a particular poster will come on and make a snide remark about michael jackson and the beach or sea lions or something. I've been living with this mans idea of being funny at my expense for about 4 weeks now. So, now, I figure I'll just predict him showing up. He'll kind of look stupid for doing after I say it.)

It's gotta be the beach for me too! Only, I think of Carnival Cruise Line's private Island. It was so peaceful there, and gorgeous. I could have sat there and watched the water all day.

By the way Teacups, I love your sig!! I love MJ! I meant to tell you that the last time I posted after you and forgot! :goodvibes

I have three:

Past: An old one from when DH and I were still dating and we walked along the breakwater during a storm in Victoria, BC and got soaking wet. It still gives me warm fuzzies when I think about it.

Present: A more recent one is just walking around Disney World but more specifically World Showcase and Liberty Square at night. (not the same night ;)) Everyone was happy and relaxed and the whole thing was just, well, 'magical'.

Future: The other is a desire I have had since I was a teenager to go to England and see all the places I've been reading about for so long.

Yellowstone National Park. Two years ago we took our then-12&14yo's on a 6000 mile cross-country RV trip. At the end of the trip we spent 10 days in Yellowstone & Grand Tetons NPs. I can't even describe how wonderfully relaxing it was. We met my mom, sisters, brother and all their SOs for a big family reunion in YNP. When I'm feeling stressed by the complexity of my life, I just go to Yellowstone and I'm in heaven again.:cloud9:

Epcot World Showcase.
I had a significant amount of medical testing this year...MRIs etc. and whenever they said "Now relax and think of somewhere nice" I always ended strolling through the World Showcase.

My sewing table or anything to do with quilting. The creativity, fabric, and everything soothes me.

And, of course, WDW...

Disney, of course! That's what I always tell DS to think of if he's had a bad dream and needs to go back to sleep with a better one.

But there was also this one spot in college, down a little path by a stream, where - even though you were 5 minutes from class - you absolutely could not see one sign of civilization. It was very relaxing.

The upper peninsula of Michigan, specifically Whitefish Point, Sault Ste. Marie, Seney Wildlife Refuge, Tahquamenon Falls and all the lighthouses and waterfalls up there.

The Apple Farm in Maine, at about mid-September when the leaves are just starting to turn but the air is still warm, gold and sweet; the Paula Reds and the Macs are out, as well as other early apples, and the butterflies are everywhere. :lovestruc

I could spend all weekend at the Apple Farm, just walking around. It was the only place I really found peace after my 18 month old niece died in a car wreck, and the quiet and clean air and the smell of apples and ripe wheat just do something to me. :cloud9:

My family lives in West Virginia and there is a beautiful, serene park called Oglebay that I've been to since I was little. Just thinking about it puts me in my "happy place".

WDW, too, of course!
