My DF has been fussing with me about the whole TUX thing.

He says he will be to HOT and I'm thinking the same for him and me as well my dress is so heavy.

We arent use to hot hot weather and our wedding is at the end of august.

What are some alternatives for the groom? What is your groom wearing or what did he wear?? Pictures if you have please.

Our wedding is at the WP/ADH/ DP in France.

We will be inside for a good part of the day. But I know with pictures and everything and nerves it will get hot and sweaty.

Our wedding was outside in April, so we knew it was going to be fairly warm. Since my dress was very simple, we opted to have DH wear a suit, not a tux. Even so, we stayed indoors as much as possible and as soon as the pics were done, all suit jackets came off!

Depending on your dress/colors, maybe your DF could even wear a tan/light-colored suit?

HTH!

Were getting married 1st week of sep, my DF wear the whole shirt, waistcoat and jacket (and it is a big heavy jacket at that!) He didnt like the idea much but I think he appreciates that im going to boil to look good for him so he doesnt mind doing it for me. We are getting married in the WP so hopefully it wont be hot in there, the only time we might heat up is having photos outside and at our DP (but im hoping it will have cooled down by then) I would post a pic but have not got round to taking one yet.

My hubby wore a propper suite, although we got married at the end of November the weather was much warmer than we are used to in England

I stressed over this too, as we are getting married in July. We haven't done any shopping yet, but DF and his brothers (his best men) will wear black dress pants, white tux shirts, black bowties, and DF will have red suspenders to match the detailing on my dress and his brothers will have black. None of them are wearing jackets. Suspenders are one of DF's favorite things, so I was willing to let him trade the jacket (which I knew would make him super hot and grumpy) for a pair of suspenders. There are so many options out there, I'm sure you'll find the one that is right for your DF!

Bouncy bounce, you've got to decide what sort of memories you want captured in your wedding photos. 20 years from now when you look at those photos, what do you want to see staring back at you? If you think you will regret seeing a less formal look, then make an attire decision now that will prevent that from happening. However, if you honestly don't care what your significant other looks like on the day of your wedding, whether it is 20 years or 100 years from now, then I think you should let him decide what to wear.

For my elopment, the following photo shows what we looked like. I need to note that the entire elopment was basically a big joke to me (and not in a funny way). We couldn't get married back at "home" due to our old state's marriage licensing requirements, thus we were forced to elope in the area of the country that we were living in. My mother actually US Mailed to me the dress that I am wearing in the photo. Had it not been for my mother, I probably would have worn work attire (a suit, either with a skirt or slacks). My husband wore a sports jacket & sweater (his job was more lax and suits weren't the required attire). Now that some background is out of the way, here is our wedding photo:

For our 20th wedding anniversary vow renewal, I wanted it to feel like the "wedding" that we never had. So did my husband. He chose what to wear -- I had no idea what he would actually look like until we met for photos in the lobby of the Grand Floridian shortly before our ceremony began. I must admit that he looked very dapper and exactly like I had hoped he would look. Here's a photo of us shortly after we said, "I do - again."

That photo captures perfectly how we felt on the night of our FTW vow renewal: we were on cloud nine. And I will love looking at that photo 20 years from now. My husband looks absoultely adorable.

But that is me and this is you. Decide how you'll feel 20 years from now when you're looking at your original wedding photos -- and take the apporpriate course of action now. No matter what that course of action is, I hope you have a lovely wedding, followed by many years of happiness.

You look so beautiful in both pictures!!!!

I agree with you 100%! Figure out what you want your day to look like and go with it. I had envisioned getting married at Sunset Pointe, seeing the castle, etc.. Well, the day that we got married, it was the coldest day that florida had in the past 5 years AND the wind was blowing so hard that it could lift my dress up and over me!

Everyone gave me the option of changing the venue, but I stuck to my guns. I knew I would be absolutely freezing, but I also knew that the pictures would be wonderful. When I look back on these pictures in 20 years, sure I might remember how cold it was, but I'll be more likely to remember that the whole fairy tale came true!

The wind blew my veil the whole time:

i'm hopefully going to wear a linen suit, a light coloured one!! my bride is going to wear a proper dress, she is happy for me to wear linen as i'm tall dark and handsome as she says!!

DH would have worn whatever I wanted him to wear, but our wedding was small and not too formal. I felt a tux was way too formal. Originally I wasn't going to wear a traditional wedding gown but fell in love with my gown, which had a cathedral train!

DH wore a dark grey suit with an ivory shirt (my gown was ivory) and a burgundy tie as our wedding colors were burgundy and ivory. I think it looked completely perfect :cloud9:

look at my pj...df is going to wear cotten pants and just a plain white shirt. Then we are going to have the grooms change for the reception later on into polos

That's pretty much what I did too.

My DH hates wearing a suit and September in Florida is NOT the time to force someone to wear one! :faint:

Since our ceremony was very casual, DH wore dockers style pants and a beautiful white linen shirt. He was comfortable and his style matched mine.
