What is your favorite....

What and where is the secret veranda room?
There are four secret verandah rooms on Wonder/Magic. 6134, 6634, 7120 and 7620. Because of the partial obstruction on the verandah, they are marketed as Navigator verandah rooms (7A) while having clear plexiglass verandahs. They were originally sold as cat. 6 rooms but guests complained about the obstruction so they lowered them one category, with their price following.

On Fantasy/Dream, almost all the 7A rooms, sold as Navigator verandahs, outside of 5188 and 5688 are in fact clear-glass verandahs with obstructions.

I really loved the stops in Spain, especially Cadiz (Sevilla). Took the trip to Sevilla. Most beautiful City I ever have been to.

Favorite ship is easy - the Magic have sailed her so many times the crew is family.
Least favorite is also easy - Dream. The nightmare inaugural cruise makes it impossible for me to enjoy the Dream. Since she's been doing nothing but short cruises since then, it's been easy to avoid sailing her. But even if she starts sailing the best itineraries, I don't think I can go.

Destinations are more difficult. I guess for favorite, Norway would edge out Alaska but it's tough to decide between Norway and Hawaii. (The RT Hawaii cruise still stands as our best single cruise; wish they would do that again rather than the one ways but I know it isn't going to happen.)
Least favorite destinations -Nassau, Ensenada

I haven't visited that many destinations yet (9) but I haven't had a "bad" port (I know I am a bit tough on Nassau but I have to admit that while the terminal itself is not good, they do have some good excursions over there!)...

1) Grand Cayman (I miss it so much!)
2) Half Moon Cay (Pure Heaven)
3) Princess Cays (awesome snorkeling)
4) Cozumel (tons of excursions)
5) Key West/Castaway Cay*
6) Key West/Castaway Cay*
7) Grand Turk (avoid the Cruise Center)
8) Jamaica (breathtaking but not safe)
9) Nassau

Our stop in Freeport was cancelled because of Hurricane Matthew but I heard it's the worst of all ports.

I'm about to visit CocoCay and I can't wait to see how it's going to affect my ranking.

*I just can't seem to figure out which destination I prefer between Key West and Castaway Cay. They are both sooo different but special and fun!

Favorite ship: Carnival Vista, followed closely by the Disney Dream.

Worst ship: Carnival Sensation. It wasn't a "bad" ship but it was too small for our taste (we like BIG ship) and honestly, they should retire it or gut it completely and re-do it entirely.

Favorite ship..Wonder
Favorite DCL itinerary...West Bound Panama Canal
Least favorite port was Puerto Vallarta

I’ve only cruised once so far. Another coming up this December. So based on my one cruise, I have to say favorite port was Castaways Cay, least favorite was Nassau. Favorite ship is the Dream. Sailing on Fantasy this December.

Are you asking about Disney ships/cruises? Or just in general ships/cruises?

Im really only interested in Disney myself but that doesn't mean others are, so any favorites are welcome. I just love hearing others point of view and others favorite might not be Disney and that is ok with me.

The secret reason behind this post is that our next cruise we are between doing Panama Canal or Alaska...I like the length of the Panama Canal but Alaska I am sure is beautiful. Seems like everyone seems to love the Alaskan cruise so I think that is where we are leaning and then maybe PC next time.

A lot of people who did Alaska will tell you that the best itineraries for Alaska are not with Disney.

Nassau seems to be everyones least favorite...I have never been but I am now interested on what makes it everyones least favorite? It must not be very good a large majority is ranking it their least favorite. I am now intrigued :scratchin

OK:
Disney favorite port: Dublin
Disney favorite ship: Magic

Other favorite port: Bora Bora
Other favorite ship: Crown Princess

Panama vs Alaska - I'm sorry, I can't pick one over the other. My suggestion is to do whichever one fits your price/dates the best first, and plan on doing the other one next.

I will say that I wouldn't do Alaska on Disney, as a trip to Alaska is (usually) more about the ports/itinerary and not the ship. Disney is low man in the pecking order for port times selections and doesn't go to Glacier Bay. My take on it is - if you're going to Alaska for the Alaska experience, take another line (Holland America and Princess have been doing it the longest); but, if you're more interested in a Disney cruise with Alaska on the side, certainly that's the way to go.

Interesting. Wonder if that ever backfires on them. We have a family of 5 so have never booked those rooms, but I remember wishing they had navigator verandahs hat fit 5 because it seemed so much safer than the open verandahs if you have toddlers. I'd be mad if I booked one and just got a basic verandah.

The cruise terminal itself is run down. It smells bad. Lots of pushy vendors.

But they do have some fun excursions over there (I did Discover Atlantis, Blue Lagoon, etc.)

Yeah, we had that one on the Dream. No clear glass verandah... but excellent Sorcerer Mickey aft view! :)

Favorite Destination: Alaska
Favorite Cruise: Panama Canal (the cruise not the destinations)
Favorite Ship: Wonder
Least Favorite Destination: Nassau. Nothing exciting about the port area or the shopping. Pushy sales people and nothing to look for that is specifically located in Nassau; in contrast to salmon in Alaska, rum tasting in Caribbean, Mexican opals in Cozumel.
