We've gotten the Birnbaum book every year since 1986 and every year I read it through many times. I like to see what changes there are and it serves as a little pick-me-up when I need it.
I've never seen the Passporter, but it seems to be pretty popular.
I'd like to do my own book someday, maybe The "World" According To George. I like to write, but the research would be the fun part!
