And has anyone here ever assisted in writing one?:)

My dd is hoping to write for one of the kids editions.:) She sent in an application the other day. It would tickle her (and me:teeth: ) if she actually got published.:teeth:

my favorite one was the everything you want to know about disneyworld book . It is very informational, easy to read, and the information is not so jammed on the pages. In fact all of the Everything books are good. I bought mine at the book Emporium book store at our local mall. Frommers is good. And so is the idiots guide to walt disney world., and Burnbaums official disney book. The others i have seen do not justify the cost of the book verses the information they give.

Wouldn't it be great if she got to write for a guidebook, Shannon? What fun!

I love all of the guidebooks, I buy new ones every year. I like the unofficial guides best for planning touring strategies. I like Birnbaums when I want to have only happy daydreams about WDW :)

We buy a Birnbaum's guide every year, so I guess that's our favorite guide.

I like the Passporter the best.

Good luck with your daughter's application. That would be awesome for her!

I like anything with the name Disney on it!!!:jester: :bounce:

Good luck to your DD, Shannon. That would be cool if she could write for one of the books!:smooth:

The book she's hoping to appear in is Birnbaum's for Kids.:) She was so excited when she mailed her letter the other day.:) I'll let you know if she's going to write or not.:)

I've got a few Birnbaum's and a couple of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. I recently bought Walt Disney World with Kids by Kim Wright Wiley. It's a pretty good book.:)

I like the Unofficial Guide but I buy the Birnbaum book for kids for DS. It would be fun if your daughter got to be a part of it. How do kids apply?

Do you have the 2003 book, PG?:) On the inside front cover it has the address to send a SASE (business-sized). It says the first 1,000 kids that write to them will get an application.:) Let me know if you want the address.:)

If she's accepted...I'll pay for an autographed copy from lil browneyes.:)

LOL, Ethel.:teeth: If she gets accepted, I'm sure we'll be handing out several autographed copies.:teeth: They post the kids pics in the book along with their comments.:)

We do have that book! Or at least DS has it somewhere. I imagine that we're too late to enter, besides DS doesn't like to write anyway. I'd have to be his ghostwriter. ;)

You know it's a shame that there isn't a book with opinions from adults or at least kids of adult age. :p

Hi browneyes,

I work for the Unofficial Guide. Which book did your daughter send an application to?

Sincerely,

Len

I actually love the WDW for Couples (with or without kids) book by the Permulutters (spelling?). It has great info on resorts and restaurants. :)

Cool, Len.:) I've probably read a lot of your research.:) Thank you!

This is the one she's hoping to get an application from.:) She's 10 yo, btw.:)

PG, maybe we on the DIS could make such a book.

Becka, I haven't heard of that one.:) Does it have a lot of good tips on the resorts and restaurants?:)

Ever since I stumbled across the 'Unofficial guide' books in 1990 I have had to buy one for each visit to get the latest updates. My only question is when will one be written for Disneyland Paris??
Claire ;)

I own about a dozen guides, and by far the best one is PassPorter.

The Passporter is my favorite, too. I actually get most of my "info" from here, but the Passporter is a great way to keep everything organized, and have certain info "at my fingertips."

The resort descriptions in that book are the best I have ever seen in any guidebook and I own A LOT of WDW guidebooks. :) The restaurant descriptions are really good as well. It is a great resource.
