What is your favorite TS place for lunch?

So I've talked the husband into an extra day at DLR (yay!) by promising that we would NOT get up early for rope drop the next day after driving into Anaheim after work the night before.

We're going to be a little more low key this day, so I thought I'd do reservations for lunch at a TS location in one of the parks since we've never done TS reservations inside the parks before. We've eaten at RB's Jazz Kitchen (which I want to do for dinner this very same day, Thursday, because we LOVED it) and Steakhouse 55, but that's the extent of our ADR experience.

What would you recommend for TS lunch? I was thinking maybe Carnation Café, but am open to other suggestions. TIA!

Our favorite in DL is Cafe Orleans and in DCA Wine Country Trattoria!

Carnation Cafe is a solid choice, we enjoyed our lunch there for sure.

We have also done the World of Color lunch package at Carthay Circle over in DCA and really liked our lunch in the beautiful restaurant.

If you've never done Blue Bayou, I'd probably do that. It's pricey to do it on the same day as another sit down meal. Consider splitting so you'd each get gumbo or salad and then split the entree. RBJK also has gumbo, so there would be some crossover, which is the same reason I probably wouldn't do Cafe Orleans. But at BB you're paying for the atmosphere more than the food. To me, Carnation is TS but the quality isn't any better than French Market or Plaza Inn, so I tend to play it by ear and go for a walk-up there. YMMV.

Carnation Cafe is good, and I like that you can make reservations and not wait so long to eat, but I also like Rancho Zocalo for the food and it normally is not so busy.

Blue Bayou is lots of fun.

Carnation Cafe is really yummy. I totally recommend the sourdough melt and a cherry malt.

My two choices would be Carnation Cafe and Cafe Orleans. Carnation Cafe has a good food selection and is very different from Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (I especially like the Baked Potato Soup, Fried Pickles, and the meatloaf). It has both indoor and outdoor seating, which can be nice depending on the weather. Cafe Orleans also has a lot of good food options (I like the gumbo and pomme frites) and while it does have have some similarities to Brennan's, they don't really remind me of each other. I think they have different enough menus that it would be fine to go to both (I often do that on my trips). The only drawback to Cafe Orleans is that the bulk of the seating is outdoors, so on cold days it can be cold and if it's raining, the wait (even with an ADR) might be pretty long.

I think you guys are selling me on Carnation Café here so far! FRIED PICKLES?! Yes, please! I've looked over the menu before, but did not see those!

Cafe Orleans. In October, I had the Crescent City Salad with blackened chicken (excellent, and nice and light when it's hot out!), and beignets with berry dipping same for dessert. So yummy! Now I'm craving those beignets - with the berry same, they're like the best, warm, jelly donut in the world!

Carnation Cafe and Cafe Orleans are both solid choices. The food is great, yet different, at both places. But I must say, the service is much better at Carnation Cafe.

Carnation Cafe is a must do for us at least once during our trips. Great food and the ambiance of being on Main Street and just watching the world go by.

Blue Bayou if you can get reservations. There is no other place you can have an experience like that of dining inside of Pirates of the Caribbean, the atmosphere is 2nd to none!

I also recommend Carnation Cafe. This is one place where everyone in my family has a favorite and requests to eat here once per visit. The french fries are very good here, we ended up ordering a side to share (son didn't appreciate the family taking his fries). The potato soup is so good one of my daughters orders it every time we go. Hubby really enjoys the chicken fried chicken. I tried the meatloaf (without the gravy) and I can say, it was delicious. The salad made my other daughter happy, so I am a happy mom with Carnation Cafe.

Always Blue Bayou!!! We've been to Carnation Cafe, and it was good, but nothing beats a waterside table at BB. The ambience is awesome and we have always enjoyed our meal. BB is an experience, CC is a restaurant, if that makes sense...:)

Thanks to everyone who replied to my thread! I made reservations for Carnation Café @ 11:30am and for RB's Jazz Kitchen @ 5:30pm. I cannot wait, YUM!
