To watch during October/Halloween time??? I figure with all the Halloween things out and movies coming out..that this would be a fun topic to speak on!!!

I really don't care for them..but I do like the Final Destination movies!!! Idky I do..but I can handle those. Now if you ask me to watch SAW or Nightmare on Elm Street..well..it ain't happenin!!! Lmao!!

Happy Halloweening!!!!

the original "Halloween" has become a mainstream classic over the years. it shows what a very small budget and a little imagination can do.....the real star was aknowledged during an interview with John Carpenter years ago..........he said he showed the rough cut to a friend who was a producer and she more or less told him it was awfull...........he then added the score and showed it to her again and she said it was great..........i think it is the best use of music ever... along with Jaws and Jurrassic Park......................ummm and The Magnificent Seven.

I love the Saw movies, but only in the week before Halloween and with a lot of other people in the room. The movies get a little too gross for me, so that's why I bring my cell phone and text, LOL.

I also really like that movie with Shia LeBeouf from a few years ago. One of the neighbors is a murderer and he has to find out for himself? Not sure what it was called...

Not a big fan of them, but I did like the original "Nightmare of Elm Street"

Every October Nightmare Before Christmas is a must watch for us. For scary- Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow is what I like. It is quirky, funny in parts, scary, and has a complicated story line.

I prefer suspense to gore. Alfred Hitchcock, Twilight Zone - that type of stuff more than murder and mayhem and blood and guts.

I do have a special place in my heart for the original Halloween movie mainly because it was my first date with my wife. ;)

For me the John Carpenter movie The Fog from 1980. I like it because there is no gore, but the sound effect will give you shivers. He leaves things up to your imagination based on the sounds and the shadows that you can see. :scared1:

I really like this one too! I am not a fan of gore and I refuse to watch Halloween, Chainsaw massacre or Friday the 13th.

I am more of a "Haunted House " type girl. The Haunting of Hill House (1963) is a favorite of mine, as is the 1999 remake. The Amity Horror is another scary movie that I will sometimes watch at Halloween time. The book really scared the poopie out of me back when I read it.

Just for fun, I watch "The Burbs" and Nightmare before Christmas around Halloween. ( and will still take in a good Haunted House. )

I don't watch them anymore, but the two scariest for me are the first Halloween (totally agree about the music) and Amityville Horror. (shiver)

I think that movie was called Surburbia..not for sure tho!!

These are some good scary movies people!!! If I do watch any of these..it has to be in the daytime if I'm by myself. If it's at night..then I have to be around other people and then I have to watch something funny right after it!! Lmao

I was just thinking that I LOOOVE suspenseful movies!!! Can anyone recommend a few good ones?!? I can't think of any right off the top of my head..but I'm sure I've seen them!! :lmao:

John Carpenter's original Halloween is a must see for me. I'm old enough to remember seeing it in a dark theater and it was amazing.

I absolutely love teh fog and Halloween. The score from the fog is one of my favorites also.
As far as more recent Halloween fare
if you havent seen it Trick R Treat is a great halloween movie

Halloween is my favorite. I also like the old version of The Haunting.

I'm not a big fan of horror movies.....I like the family type...I love the Holloweentown films, Hocus Pocus, Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror.......however, I also like The Haunting, and the House on Haunted Hill...for the suspense.

I used to think I liked scary movies, but I can't think of any favorites. I don't like blood and guts, ghost stories are ok but they tend to make it hard for me to sleep. I think I will stick to the great pumpkin! :lmao:

I have three. Scream, Halloween (the original, not the Rob Zombie version) and Tim Burton's Sleepy Hallow.
