What is your favorite salad?

I love salads, but at the moment I think my favorite is a green jacket salad. So good and simple - basically a light homemade dressing (very little ingredients, mainly parsley) and green onions and pita croutons. Yummy!

Mine is just caprese. Some great fresh vine grown tomatoes, fresh basil, mozarella and some aged balsamic vinegar with a dash of extra virgin olive oil. We have this at least 3 nights a week for dinner during tomato season.

Mmmmm...love this too!

As far as restaurant salads, I love LOVE Panera's Fuji Apple Chicken Salad. Mmmmmmm!!!!!

I  Panera's Strawberry Poppyseed salad (sans the chicken). I look forward to it every year! As of today, you can still get it, but it won't be available much longer.

spinach, strawberries and pecans with a light olive oil and white wine vinegar mixed with sugar dressing.

That sounds really good! I'm actually eating my favorite salad right now. Asian Sesame Chicken from Panera. It's lettuce, chicken, wontons and some sort of nut...walnut maybe?

This is my favorite salad:

Bacon Swiss Salad
• 4 cups torn romaine
• 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Swiss cheese
• 3/4 cup real bacon bits
• 1/2 cup salted cashews
• DRESSING:
• 3 tablespoons brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons water
• 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1/4 teaspoon dried minced onion
• 1/4 teaspoon poppy seeds
• 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
• Dash salt

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, combine the romaine, cheese, bacon and cashews. In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the dressing ingredients; shake well. Pour over salad and toss to coat. Serve immediately. Yield: 6 servings.

My favorite is BLT Salad. Its quite simple, just something we threw together one night but it has become a favorite.

Crumbled bacon
Iceburg/Romaine salad mix
chopped tomatoes
chopped cucumbers
shredded cheese
extra crunchy croutons
homemade ranch dressing
parmesan cheese
salt and pepper

Add all ingredients and toss with a tbs or two of the dressing like a ceasar salad.
Serve extreeemly cold.

Very good.

Yum! I love salads! Lately I've been eating spinach, bacon bits, banana peppers and croutons at every lunch.
Love cobb, caprice, Greek. There is a nutty, cheesy yummy salad at The Outback now that I've been craving since I had it 2months ago!

Caesar salad! But no anchovies :crazy2:

I also love tossed salads with Italian dressing.

And pasta salad, especially the kind my mom makes.

And fruit salad.

...now I'm hungry :rolleyes1

Don't know the name of it -

Spring mix salad
Craisins
Feta Cheese crumbles
Candied walnuts
Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette dressing

HEAVEN

Maggiano's Chopped Salad. I've been able to duplicate it here at home.
Chili's Quesadilla Explosion Salad

Another salad we make here at home is mixed greens, baby spinach, chicken, toasted walnuts, cranberries, chopped apples, feta cheese with a lite rasberry walnut dressing.

Another one I just thought of is Applebee's pecan crusted chicken salad. TGIFriday's makes a version of this too. SOOOOO good.

My favorite salad is taco salad. I use Romaine lettuce, baby spinach, tomatoes, red onions, avocado, sliced jalapeno peppers, MANGO, ground beef seasoned with chili powder and cumin, homemade salsa, Catalina dressing, sour cream, tostito chips and cheddar cheese. I have to have fresh mango in it or I don't like it. :)

Another favorite is Strawberry Spinach Salad. It sounds strange but it is delicious! :thumbsup2

Strawberry Spinach Salad
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1/2 cup white sugar ***
1/2 cup olive oil ***
1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon minced onion
10 ounces fresh spinach - rinsed, dried and torn into bite-size pieces
1 quart strawberries - cleaned, hulled and sliced
1/4 cup almonds, blanched and slivered
*** I cut the sugar and oil in half & it's plenty sweet

In a medium bowl, whisk together the sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, paprika, Worcestershire sauce and onion. Cover, and chill for one hour.
In a large bowl, combine the spinach, strawberries and almonds. Pour dressing over salad, and toss. Refrigerate 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

I  Panera's Strawberry Poppyseed salad (sans the chicken). I look forward to it every year! As of today, you can still get it, but it won't be available much longer.

I love this too! I make it at home with the chicken (although the blueberries are becoming hard to find in the store).

Guacamole Salad. Make some fresh guac with onions and tomato and scoop it onto a bed of shredded lettuce. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Delish :)

Too funny! Every so often I crave an old-time Michigander J.L. Hudson's Maurice Salad...found this recipe years ago & it's pretty darn close. Enjoyed it yesterday:

I used to work at Hudsons. I loved this salad and their spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. Yumm.

I also love a tomato and mozzarella salad. Now I am hungry for lunch!

Fuji apple chicken salad from Panera Bread. They also sell me the dressing and I make it at home too...

LOVe LOVE LOVE this sans chicken.

Love that sans chicken as well!

In the summer, nothing beats a caprse, esp, as we grow our own basil.
