What is your favorite quiet building at POFQ?

Hey all, I need your help. We have never stayed at a moderate (always a value) and are going to this September because of the free dining. I have the quiet building (and even quiet rooms) down to a science at the Values but I need your help with POFQ.

Normally we stay on the top floor, corner room against traffic pattern so we can sleep in (we are not park openers for sure). I have always avoided the parking lot views and noise. So knowing this, do you have a building and or room number that you would suggest that fits the bill? :confused3

Just spent three nights in 1327 - building 1, 3rd floor, facing the river, 2 rooms up from the far south corner.

Very quite, no foot traffic (don't think anyone was in the corner room or next door) - during the day the boats to/from DTD are using their horns - but it didn't seem to be a problem (kept the AC fan on the entire time for some white noise). Nice view of the golf course, too.

We were in building 7, 2nd floor. It was very peaceful. It may be the furthest building from the lobby, pool but POFQ is so small that the distance is not bad at all. We were only a couple minutes walk to the bus stop.

We're deluxe people but tried a moderate to save a few bucks on a twice a year vacations to WDW... Our favorite mod, POFQ.... Way better than sprawling Riverside... We've done 2 stays, just returned this week from second trip and again we were in building 5... Third floor this time and second floor last time, corner room facing the pool.... Love the location, short walk to everything, pool, food court and boat to DTD...

We were first to be picked up over Riverside a few days ( glad too because Riverside has 4 + internal bus stops ) then we never went there the rest if the trip, Riverside had its own bus thereafter...

We had our first stay there last January, had upper floor corner room, GV, in building 4. We were right across from the food court, but still it was quiet. Never heard any noise from outside.

I think the main factor of noise level will be your neighbours. If you have loud, inconsiderate ones or not. We were walking along river path coming back from POR one evening, and a group of adults ( who should know better) were walking along upper floor walkway of a building back to their rooms. They were talking so loudly we could hear the entire conversation and we were a building away. It was 10:00 at night, and I felt sorry for those in the rooms they past trying to get to sleep, or little ones being woken up by them.

We were in Bldg. 5 with river view, 3rd floor. I don't recall it being loud, but I do recall hearing the boat honking its horn at night. didnt bother me, but I recall it now.

In April, we stayed in bldg 4, standard view (facing the courtyard on the parking lot side). It was very quiet.

We were in building 2, first floor, directly across from the laundry facilities. We were there for 12 days and we never heard a thing from outside our whole trip.

Building 7 - 2nd floor is where we stayed as well. Very quiet and the walk wasn't bad at all.

Last year we were in building 6, 2nd fl., garden view. The room was extremely quiet.

Thank you for all of your input. I will look at the schematics and take your buidling suggestions in mind. We just need to figure out what corner rooms are not Kings and then make a request (I know, they aren't guaranteed but it doesn't hurt to ask;)). I appreciate your thoughts and even picture! I am excited about our first trip to POFQ; not sure how much of a change it will be from our value trips but looking forward to it.

I stayed at room 4125 facing a courtyard and it was beautiful and quiet even if we were very close to the bus stop.

Correct. Would add to request a view of the internal courtyard for garden view rooms to avoid parking lot view. Exit your door and get treated to a view of the river for some rooms. So what if you can't see the water from the room. The shades are closed anyway to keep out the sun and make the AC more effective. Distance to the bus is shorter following the parking lot side past Bldg 6 bypassing the Mint altogether. Use a ruler and check it out. Don't have one so I just use my fingernail. Pinky is 50 feet. My pinky not yours!

To me (we arrive June 16!!) it sounds as if pretty much anywhere is fine! We are booked in standard rooms, so think I will just check in in person and take my chances!

Wow, thanks. I found that all the rooms I see fit my bill are exclusively King size rooms. Not going to work. There is one room in bldg 7 that is perfect but being a water view (and I've paid for garden), doubt they'll give it to me. Most of the other runner up rooms have stairs right by them. So I have about 5 rooms that I've requested from bldg 7, 5, 1 and 6. I hope that I have chosen well and that they will be kind to accomodate. The walking isn't the issue but I will try the pink method just to see. I bet most of the rooms are about the same distance from the front. And, since we park and drive most of the time, parking lot proximity is almost as important. BTW, what is the mint? Also, do you know if the courtyard by 5 is loud. It is a huge area and one of the rooms I requested is on the backside of 5. :)Thanks for your input

Honestly at FQ I don't really care which building as the resort itself is so small and rather quiet. You're never all that far from the main building.

I wouldn't stress much about getting a quiet place at POFQ. They're all quiet since the place is so small. We were in Building 4 ground floor facing the courtyard last summer. It was just 30 or so steps (according to my kids who counted) from the refill station in the food court. So we were literally in the middle of everything. Didn't hear a peep for the 9 days we were there. We didn't make any room requests (were booked GV). I thought there would be noise particularly being on the ground floor with foot traffic getting to the food court/lobby/pool. Nope - not a sound. You've got nothing to worry about with POFQ wherever your room is. Loved every minute of it. :thumbsup2

We stayed at POFQ last August/September. Before getting to WDW, we had made a few requests...Building 2, exterior corner window, and 3rd floor. We received every one of those requests and then some. We had booked a Garden View room but we were upgraded to a River View.

We had room #2332 and our windows overlooked both the pool slide area as well as the river/boat dock. We were also very close to the elevator and stairs which meant a 2 minute walk to the food court and pool and maybe 4 minutes to the buses.

We LOVED POFQ and that room was just perfect!! We hardly ever saw anyone else pass by or even walking on our little street coming and going from the main building.
