What is your favorite MELLOW dinner that is also 1 TS?

I think I have a different idea of mellow than others. Many of the choices listed I find noisy and a bit chaotic - I have enjoyed them, but just did not find them mellow.

I would suggest the Yacht Club Galley. We ate there twice for dinner during our trip, the food was good and it was really low key and relaxing.

Yacht Club Galley would be a good choice. Another suggestion is Marrakesh. It's usually not crowded and we enjoy the music and the belly dancer. Not as crazy about the food, but it's been tasty when we've gone.

I agree with daneenm. There are numerous restaurants listed here that I would put in the unbelievably crowded and chaotic category -- and not at all what the OP asked for, which is "mellow". That list would include:
Chefs de France
San Angel Inn
Le Cellier
Spoodles

In our experience, they are all noisy and terribly crowded. At Chef's, San Angel and Le Cellier, it's as easy to eat the food at the next table as it is to eat your own -- the tables are that close. We've sworn them all off, other than Spoodles, which we will occasionally do for breakfast.

Olivia's at Old Key West is a possibility.
Grand Floridian Cafe
Turf Club at Saratoga Springs (it was quiet when we ate lunch there, not sure about dinner)

I ditto these three, Olivia's and Grand Floridian are two of our "not to be missed" and we've eaten at the Turf Club and while it's not a "not to be missed" it is very good.

I think Olivia's would be your best chance of real peace and quiet, but it depends on who's in there, but all will be just the "normal" restaurant eating. If you have your car, Olivia's is also very close to the parking lot and front drop off for the least walking after a busy day.

We just had dinner at Kona last week and it was very loud. In addition to the noise from the restaurant there ws alot of noise in the lobby that drifted up to the restaurant. By far the loudest restaurant that we ate at. The Grand Floridian Cafe is a nice quiet environment and the atmosphere at the hotel is relaxed and attractive. We took the boat over from the MK and that was a nice experience as well.

Olivia's!! Always delicious, homey, quiet and mellow- *if* you have a car. If you are at another resort and rely on WDW transport, I would try something easier to get to. What will you be doing that day/where are you staying?

My family agrees with some of the other posts that Boma is not what we think of as "mellow"! Although we love the food, it has always been quite packed and noisy.

Our pick for a nice, mellow dinner is probably Mama Melrose in HS. We have been a few times, and we have never felt rushed or overwhelmed by noise. The tables are large and nicely spaced. Plus, it is kind of tucked back in the back of HS which gives it an "out-of-the-way" feel.

29 DAYS UNTIL YC!!!:cheer2:

Thank you everyone! Wonderful suggestions :)

We have been to Kona, Boma, and I agree that those are really LOUD and busy! I like the other ideas to try. We have found Artist Point to be a quiet dinner, but that is not in the price range I am looking for this time, and with four little kids, we are trying to keep in mind the other guests as well. I don't want to take them some place TOO nice where they may disturb other guests (they are generally well behaved, but they are 5-7 year olds, and there are four of them, so they can make a bit of noise!) I should add, they were VERY well behaved at Artist Point both times we did go (not to scare anyone!) and a tip to anyone reading this who wants to take their little ones to a NICE restaurant and they are worried about the noise level for a long meal...
here is what worked GREAT for us! My dad bought 3 separate gift items for the kids (dolls, pens, cases of animals, all very small and inexpensive) and he gave them all to the server and then he asked the server to present the children with these gifts throughout the meal! It worked beautifully. We dined for two hours and each time the girls started to get a little stir crazy, out came something new and exciting to entertain them! It was very fun for them and for us. Our server was just WONDERFUL (over the top wonderful) and I would not ask every server to do such a thing, but my dad was friends with him so he felt comfortable doing so.
BUT you could do the same effect by having a member of your party hand out goodies too.
:)
