It can be a resort, or a park. I am trying to think of something for a dinner after a busy day for my folks. I don't think they'd like the loud hustle bustle of Whispering Canyon, for example, but they also don't want to pay the price tag of quiet at Artist Point! So I am looking for something that is fairly mellow in the 1 TS price range.

(we're not all on dining plan, just using that as a guide).
:)

Olivia's at Old Key West is a possibility.
Grand Floridian Cafe
Turf Club at Saratoga Springs (it was quiet when we ate lunch there, not sure about dinner)

I was going to say Kona, I have never eaten dinner there, but hear that mentioned quite often.

Then Captain's Grille and the YC (only had breakfast there, but it smells good at dinner) - very quiet place and nice.

Le Cellier is one of our favs. is that 1 TS?

I think the main thing for it to be relaxing is that it isn't a hassle to get to. When I bring the grands, I have to find some place that doesn't involve extra walking and is easy to get to. So I guess it would depends on where you are during the day.

MK - Kona or the plaza is never too loud or busy and is less expensive.
dhs- Mama Melrose
Epcot - coral reef, mexico - dark lighting soft music always seems so relaxing although I've never eaten there.
AK - Yak and Yeti or Boma is nice - just not quite so relaxing since it is a buffet.

Turf Club at SSR
Spoodles at BW
LeCellier at Epcot
Les Chefs de France Epcot
Cape May Cafe at BC -it's a buffet, but quiet & relaxing

Boma at AKL is a buffet and there are alot of people but somehow it can also seem intamite. I love Olivias at OKW. It is one of the best kept secrets on property. It is right by the Hospitality House at OKW so you don't have to go all over the place. When going in that direction the majority of people will choose to dine at DTD. Olivia's is very laid back and low key. Kind of like the resort itself. It is also one of the few places on property that does not need a resservation.

Olivia's at OKW
Spoodles on the Boardwalk
Yacht Club Galley (not sure if that is the right name)
San Angel Inn (Mexico)
GF Cafe

The Plaza Restaurant at MK! They have great food, and the restaurant is very quaint and relaxing. I think most seats also have a very nice view of the castle. It's also one of the less expensive TS places. This is one of my favs every trip! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Well I'm probably in the age range of your parents so if you are talking 1TS price range but relaxing (with decent food) I would say

Olivia's at OKW
Turf Club at SSR
GF Cafe at GF

I know others have listed places like Le Cellier and BOMA, but trust me, grandparent aged people do not consider these places relaxing. :rotfl:

Olivia's at OKW has a nice quiet relaxing atmosphere. And with very good food, I must say. ;)

KONA!!!!

or Wolfgang Puck...we went without kids a few years ago and it was really relaxing...not so much with kids, but thats the same anywhere.

I'm not quite grandparent age yet, but I was thinking the same thing. Every time I've been to either, they were loud & chaotic.

Did you dine upstairs or down? WPC (downstairs) was the loudest restaurant I can ever remember dining at. We left, before we finished eating. Maybe, we were there on an unusually loud night. :confused3

Same here, downstairs was one of the worst dining experiences we've had. Very noisy and hectic feeling. I've booked and canceled upstairs twice now for fear that I won't like it.

I would say that no buffet would be mellow. I'd also shy away from a park restaurant based on your goals. The Grand Floridian Cafe might be the best choice. Nice, quiet resort and restaurant, food brought to them and a nice assortment of items to choose from. Easily accessed by Disney transportation by monorail or boat from MK.

If the trip is within the next two weeks Concourse Steakhouse would be an option, but something tells me you more of a planner than that.

Turf Club at SSR would also be an option, but not sure how the travel would workout for them.
