What is your favorite loop?

Thanks Colson. What about 400 and 500? If I'm correct, they are across the street from 100, 200, and 300? How are they on space and privacy? :)

Well here is a picture of loops 400 and 500 (I rotated the picture a bit to get a better view of the campsites).

Loop 400 is circled on the left, loop 500 is circled on the right.

Loop 400 is a much smaller loop, and in my opinion has a bit more open space to it (you can even tell from the picture). It would be a more private loop in the fact that there won't be as many people staying in the loop, so you won't have as much traffic going through there.

When looking at Loop 500, the right side of the circled area is bordered by a canal, so you're more apt to having some privacy there and not being backed up to anyone (except for the people across the canal). Loop 400 is the same way if you're in the upper top/top-left part of the loop, you're not backed up to anything/anyone ( as pictured).

I've always had an affinity for loop 400, it is such a small loop, and just almost seemed more "homey". Loop 500 is a good loop as well, and because of it's increased size, you're more likely to get assigned there if you request it.

I can't keep the preferred loops straight from the full hook-ups anymore. Disney has upgraded some loops that used to be full hook up to preferred (l know 800 is preferred now, but hasn't always been-I know that I personally tent camped on this loop back in the day, and it was not preferred). But, I know 1000 was not preferred when we camped there this past Thanksgiving, and I am pretty sure that neither is 1100, 1200 or 1300. So, I don't think your statement that 700 through 1400 are preferred loops is correct.

Ahh, oops, I had put the info down wrong. I meant to say 100 through 500 and the 700 AND 1400 loops, not THROUGH 1400. Sorry about that, I fixed it.

When I call the Fort back to request a loop, I'm letting them know they need to put you on the payroll.:thumbsup2

I suppose the 800 and 900 loops are tied for 1st place. Close to Meadows, lots of great sites. Based on location 700 is great because it is close to the Settlement, and not a bad walk back to the Meadows.

lol, I already worked for Disney once and it almost ruined it for me ;) And you're also right, they need to start paying me for this free saleswork (word of mouth truly is the greatest advertising tool....lol).

Hey, I would love to have this information right, too.

Your statement is still not right, because 800 is preferred.

The last time I camped on 500, there were pets on that loop. I know that this has moved around a lot. I didn't think 800 was a pet loop, but it definitely was in March, 2007. Maybe it has been for a while, I just didn't notice any pets when we camped there in March, 2006.

So, let's get a definite list of what is preferred, what is full hook-up, and what loops are currently pet-loops. I would love to have an accurate list. I'll bet others would too.

It's amazing that you can't find out this info quickly from Disney, it's like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Yes, 800 is preferred as well. So add that one. And 800 is definitely a pet loop because we stayed there with our dog last Thanksgiving (conflicting information is making my head swim!).

I just read on All Ears that pet loops are 1600 through 1900, 300, 700, and 800. They are normally pretty accurate, so I would trust that. Unfortunately they don't list anything in regards to preferred/full hookup :/

Oh no! I requested 800 because last time we stayed there it was not preferred.

Just to make sure I called FW this morning and asked which full hookup loops are pet loops. As stated before, they are 1600 - 1900.

Now, which one do I pick? Any suggestions? We won't have a golf cart, so prefer closest to the Meadows, etc. We're also in a pop up, so must be close to a comfort station!

Well, unfortunately not too many people have posted that as their favorite loops in here, but I'll tell you what I think at least.

All of these loops are a fair distance from the Meadow since they are all crammed into the southeastern corner of the Fort. Loops 1600 and 1700 will be closest to the bus stop, but it doesn't make that much of a difference really. All the loops will have access to a comfort station, certain sites might make you walk a bit farther than others, but there is not MUCH you can do about that (you can try to request a specific site if you want but I wouldn't entirely count on it).

None of these loops are really "close" to the Meadows trading post, so if you have to choose one of these loops, there really isn't much you can do about that unfortunately :(

We like the 300 loop because it is the closest preferred pet loop to the settlement. Just a quick bike ride to the boat, free refills of my FW mug at Trails End and sitting on the porch, ahhhhh the memories!
Wow!! 6 weeks of camping!! How did you manage that?

Personally I always say the last one I was in. We have stayed in 500, 700 and 800, in that order. I don't use the comfort stations so that isn't a factor. Just want preferred pet loop is all. I have to say I loved them all. One thing about 500 is it's an overflow pet loop so no dog walk area. But still loved it.

Just an update:

We are here now. I had requested 800, thinking that it was full hookup. I never called back to change it, hoping for some pixie dust and an upgrade - LOL. :goodvibes

Well, it sort of worked. We didn't get an upgrade, but we are in 900! We're right across from the Meadows and close to the comfort station, so I'm thrilled!

I'm not sure if they're using 900 as an overflow pet loop or if it's permanent. There are signs as you're leaving the loop that say "No pets past this point."

So now 900 is my favorite loop!

What eaxctly is a preferred site? We do not have pets so we do not need a pet friendly site. So what makes the other sites a preferred site?

Partial Hook-up=water and electric, no sewer

Full Hook-up= water, electric and sewer

Preferred= water, electric, sewer, and cable(as well as a loop closer to "things")

These hook ups are by loop, so you won't find partial hook-ups and full in the same loop.

Any thoughts on the best cabin loops and why? I haven't requested a cabin loop for our July trip since we've not stayed at FW, but I'd love some info on them. (Especially if there's a loop someone didn't like!;) )

I'd like to see suggestions for these as well. We leave in three weeks and I requested loop 2100, just because I read somewhere that it was a good loop, but don't really know much about the cabin loops

The last time we went we stayed in the 1100 loop and we loved the size of the sites and the distance between sites! I would like to try a preffered loop just to be closer to the mariner but I'm a little worried about being cramped too close together.

How do I found out which loop and site we are assigned? I do not see a phone number on our confirmation information

We always ask for the 1700 loop. It is a full hook up/pet loop. I have my own cart and the kids have their scooters, so we like to be further away from the marina traffic. The 1600 loop is probably your best bet for your request. It is small and has a comfort station at the beginning of the loop. It also backs up to the 1500 comfort station about 2/3 of the way around. You can cut through the 1500 comfort station and walk about 5 sites down on your left and will be right across from the meadows pool. Less than a 5 minute walk from 1500 comfort station to the pool.

My vote is 1700 loop and I have no idea why!:rotfl:
