with the recent codes it looks like we are going to stay at the Poly for the first time in April..we have never even toured this resort....I have checked out tikimans site with sooo much great info...BUT for those of you who have been there also what is your favorite GV bldg and room if you have one ///THANKS :)

Tahiti - hands down. There is NO parking lot view, just gorgeous tropical plants. The Tahiti has the largest rooms at the Poly (as does the Rapa Nui - but it has ALOT of P/L views). The Tahiti is also a hop and a skip from the Transportation and Ticket Center and the arcade!

How far is Tahiti from the monorail and Cap. Cooks?

Unfortunately it is the longhouse farthest away from the GCH. I don't mind because it is only a 2 minute walk at the most! Especially if you follow the trail by the arcade and the quiet pool.

You can also go inside the longhouse on the farside of the arcade and come out RIGHT beside the GCH - we have done this ALOT!

Wewill keep this in mind. Thanks!!:wave2:

Our last three visits to Poly...02, 04, 04...we asked for and received the Samoa building...ground floor looking directly at the Volcano pool. Room 1608 twice and 1606 once.

This is the only GV or Standard View we ever reserve at Disney. We usually stay LV, PV, SV, CYV, or CON, at GF, BC, YC, AKL, WL. However, at the Poly we either stay GV or Con.

Our room has been wonderful. 25 feet to the pool, 100 feet to the GCH and right in the middle of the DISNEY atmosphere!

I have stayed in both Raratonga and Aerotero (SP ;) ). I give Raratonga the slight edge because it was right next to the GCH. :) I would be happy with either one again. :)

You might look at Tokelau.....it also has the larger rooms (not that the other rooms are small). Location is great - it's not far from Captain Cooks and Volcano Pool, and a short walk to TTC. Also very close to laundry, arcade, and bus stop. One side of the longhouse faces the Quiet Pool, and I've heard that one end also gives a view of the lagoon and castle w/o paying for water view.

Good luck on your choice!

The last time we were in Tokelau in 3913 and it was very nice with a side view of the lake and Grand Floridan. The first time we were in Rapu Nue. It is further from the GSH but still only a 3 to 5 minute very pleasant walk. We like this bldg. because it was just a short walk to the TTC. Both rooms were very nice and very quiet. The whole resort is great and I am sure you will have a very nice time...smjj

I vote for Fiji.... either side you have a good view of things. Go back to tikimans site and take a look at some of the pictures he has of the Fiji Longhouse... some great views!!

Good Luck!!

I am thinking of the poly too. I too am curious about the best garden view. On Toleakulu (sp?) what are the rooms that you get Wishes/lagoon view at a garden price? And, if you ask for it when you reserve, what are your chances of getting it or any room specific request for that matter?

Also, what are the best rooms on samoa? And, which buildings don't have balconies on floor 2...i want to be sure to avoid those.

Thanks.

We love the samoa longhouse. Last time we had room 1602, ground floor, volcano pool view. We just love the location for the quick mug runs to captain cooks, quick hop in the pool for the ds going out the slider door and ice machine right outside the door, hop skip and jump to gch etc. Just perfect for us.

We like Tokelau - 3rd Floor, either overlooking the quiet pool OR if you're real lucky down towards the "beach" end where you might get a sideways lagoon view.

Tokelau is very central to everything and all rooms have a balcony.

I just paid my first night deposit, and at the same time requested Rarotonga 3rd floor or Tokelau 2nd or 3rd floor away from the quiet pool. We are staying in Feb. I'll let you know how it turns out, when we get back!:jumping2: :jumping2: :jumping2: :jumping2:

As has been said before-- Samoa, ground floor, volcano pool view. It's so convenient to everything and has a terrific view. Loved it!

My family and returned from a 9 day stay at the poly on September 20. We stayed in Samoa on the 3rd floor. In can't remember the room # but it was the second room on the left as you exited the elevator. The view was unbelievable. I couldn't believe it was garden view. We overlooked the volcano pool and had a great view of the lagoon with the grand floridian in the background.

We stayed in Tokelau room 3912 I believe. It was toward the beach end and yes we did get a lagoon view for the price of GV but there was ONE palm tree blocking the view of the castle dead on. Wonder if it was strategically put there? ha! There was a viewing deck two doors down that you could see the castle perfectly.

The quiet pool was right outside the main doors and it wasn't much of a walk to the volcano pool and GCH. The TTC couldn't have been much more than 5 mins walk away.

We loved it!! If we go back (which I hope we do again) I will request Tokelau again!

Have fun, you'll love it wherever you are!

We stayed in Tokelau room 3943 which had a view of the quiet pool. It was a short walk to the GCH as well as the TTC and the bus stop, very centrally located. I think sometimes people who have never stayed there get the impression the resort is a lot bigger than it really is. It is never more than a 4 or 5 min walk to the GCH from anywhere.

kelscross...do you think if you were on the second floor in the same room that the view of the castle would not have been blocked ? so room 2912 ??
