What is your favorite food at Disneyland/California Adventure?

I second those who love the corn dogs-and I literally dream of Disneyland churros :lmao:

The only place I was not impressed with the food was at the Hungry Bear.

I've been looking for brats at Disneyland ever since we had some at Epcot. I guess there is one place to get them - Trubadour Tavern, but it was closed when we got there. Has anybody tried the brats there? Are they good?

Popcorn. There is something so amazing about Disney popcorn. I love it from DLR and WDW. I have written several times about my DLR popcorn injury. The smell that comes from those popcorn carts is intoxicating. I lose all control. I love the smell. I love the taste. I love the bucket. Addicting little morsels! i dare say it's better than the movie theatre kind!
It's the methadone.

LOL J/K :lmao:

I thought they were okay. I personally make better beer soaked Johnsonville brats at home.

I also had the chicken sausage at Village Haus and preferred that over the brat from Troubadour.

This may sound sad but I'm looking forward to the food about as much as I'm looking forward to the Expo and the attractions! When I leave, I bet I'll at least gain 10 pounds and I'm going to enjoy EVERY minute of it :thumbsup2

The fried chicken meal at Plaza Inn (could feed 2 small eaters).

The salmon at French Market

the corn chowder at Storyteller's Cafe (or at the wharf area).

I totally agree with this, for our upcoming trip, the food planning is just as important as anything else. As a bonus, both DW and I never seem to gain any weight at Disneyland, all that walking and running around counteracts the increased rich food and calories!!!

LOL. It's something! I call it "crackcorn," but I wasn't sure I would get away with that on the boards. I have literally spilled blood while in pursuit of popcorn at DLR. I even broke a camera.

WOW :yay: So many amazing answers. My DH and I are making a list of foods to try. I'm sure we won't be able to get to them all but that just gives us another reason to return as soon as possible :woohoo:

WDW has many more choices for PLACES to eat, but going through everyones responses it appears that DLR has a better variety of food items. I have never seen pomme frittes, mickey soft pretzels, monte cristos or fried green tomato sandwiches, just to name a few, at WDW. Possibly at a restaurant I haven't tried yet (and there are still a few) but not at any of the park eataries. This is going to be so much fun!

We always start our trip with Breakfast at Minnie's. It's great to get in before the park opens and see it quiet, and the breakfast buffet is GREAT! Yes, it hascharacters, but my 11 year old and I have fun with that too.

We also like Ralph Brennan's. and weirdly, our favorite place in DCA was Pizza Oom Mow Mow. Sadly, that's gone now (but we LOVED the atmosphere!).

I personally was dissapointed by the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. There was no entertainment, the guy kept trying to put us in the bright sun instead of in the shade, and their menu is obviously pretty limited, so if you have some picky eaters, it may not be the place for you. We honestly felt we should have gone to the Blue Bayou for that price...

I am obsessed with the breakfast platter from the Tomorrowland Terrace! I love the potatoes and the muffin! I have so many fond memories eating here with my family when I was little, I'll be heartbroken if they ever change it.

Another favorite is the Chieftain Chicken Skewer from Bengal Barbecue. I also have memories eating this as a little kid and it's still so good. I wish I knew how to make the sauce so I could try to duplicate it at home. I usually eat this everyday whenever I visit.

Finally, the pineapple Dole Whip and churros are my favorite desserts!

My favorite breakfast is also Carnation Cafe, and you really cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Last time we ate there, I got the eggs benedict for the first time and it was fantastic! We eat at Carnation Cafe for breakfast as often as we can on our trips, but I have never been for lunch or dinner. (Adding my list now).

I also have to agree with the chicken pasta from Plaza Inn, very good & very filling.

I have a couple faves that haven't been mentioned yet:

Oatmeal Raisin cookies from Pooh's Corner for a breakfast on the go (hey, it's oatmeal which makes it a nutritious breakfast, right?) Same goes for Mickey Krispie Treats.

The Cheddar & Apple Salad at Pinocchio's. So, light yummy & delicious. And it balances some of the other questionable nutrition decisions you might make on vacay.

The BBQ Chicken Baked Potato at Troubadour Tavern. So amazingly good and there is rarely a line of more than 2-3 people.

The Steak Nachos at White Water Snacks. I have tried and tried to recreate these at home but they are never quite the same as they are at Disney.

And, finally the Broccoli Cheese Soup from either Pacific Wharf or the little shack across from Haunted Mansion. This is my go to, in either park quickety lunch or dinner. I usually order it in a bowl with the bread bowl on the side because I don't like soggy bread. But, it's a matter of taste.

I just saw that menu today & had to call my son. He loves BBQ sauce on his baked potatoes and has already decided we have to eat there this trip.

The bread bowls at Pacific Wharf are definitely on my list but I have been meaning to ask if there are any other kinds since the chowders seems to be the only ones mentioned up till now. So happy to find out they have Broccoli Cheese Soup. :yay: It's my absolute favorite!

And the oatmeal raisin cookies are going to the top of my snack list :woohoo:

Thanks Cheshiregirl :goodvibes

It just came out a few months ago but the Fried Green Tomato sandwich with Sweet potato fries at Hungry Bear Restaurant is sooooooooo AMAZING! my new absolute favorite!

I agree- am vegetarian and try and eat low fat/ healthy (and avoid pasta/ salads) but this sandwich is wowza! And the price is great! Love the seating thats along the rivers of america- beautiful, cool and quiet!!

We want to try Breakfast at Minnie's, it sounds like fun :wizard: Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen is definately on our list ~ it's between that and Steakhouse 55 for our anniversary dinner. Big Thunder Ranch wasn't on my top ten list so no worries there. Thanks for your input :thumbsup2

BTW ~ where did you get the Disney Name Tag counter?? I didn't see it as a choice when I did mine and I really like it. :earsboy:
