What is your favorite "extra"?

It depends on your pirate master. We had Gina who was tons of fun really in character. She was so fun she talked my five year old into the mermaid package after fighting with her all during older sisters appt over princesses and bibbidh bobbidi boutique.

They get a good bit of items. I priced it and all the accessories not even including the sword and sash/scabbard (is that what a sword holder is called) would be $26 plus they get the makeup and hair done. I'm sure the sword would be $10 so basically they hair and makeup is free.

I wasn't into going but got it for oldest dd birthday and they won me over. I think it's a better value than BBB. But I do still love BBB.

We love characters meals and the Pirate's League. My oldest DD got the mermaid package on our last trip and she absolutely loved it and was so beautiful; and I think this is a nice makeover package for a broad age range (little girls and even up to young adults). My oldest DS got the Jake pirate makeover which also really turned out nice because he didn't want as much make up on his face so that particular package was the best option for him. For other extras we want to try the Wishes Dessert party on our next trip and also maybe the Fantasmic dinner package :thumbsup2

My family loves to rent a pontoon boat from one of the MK resorts and go around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. It is so peaceful and calm and I can get great pictures of MK and the surrounding resorts :goodvibes.

The other extra that my family really enjoys doing is resort hoping. We like to spend some of our off days dedicated to resort hoping at different areas (take the monorail around the MK resorts, walk around the Epcot resorts, etc). We always go into the shops at the different resorts and just walk around and enjoy the grounds and if we are visiting the Poly, we always go into Captain Cook's and get a Dole Whip ;).

Only have done a couple but BBB was a great "Extra" for our DD the last trip however it was definitely made better by her FGIT. She was the best! She was engaging to our daughter and to us, made her laugh and truly made it wonderful. I looked around at some others and they weren't having close to the amount of fun we were. The 1st time we did the dessert party it was a great "Extra" also. The 2nd time, not so much. We are looking forward to doing the resort movie night as a new "Extra" even though it is free, it is something new!

My favorite is getting a crystal palace reservation before opening. There is nothing like walking down Main St virtually empty :)

Do you have to make reservations for Pirate's League? If so, how did you make reservations? You can't just do that online can you?

We did BBB and Pirates and Pals, while my kids loved becoming a knight and princess, as a family, we all enjoyed PandP the most. Our pirate was fun, and watching the fireworks on the water was my favorite Disney moment yet.

Typhoon Lagoon, winter summer land mini golf, getting ice cream from Beaches and Cream and strolling down along the board walk, taking the hay wagon ride at FWCG in fall to see the campsites decorated for Halloween/winter for Christmas( if timed right you stop at the beach in time to watch Wishes) and photo pass plus. On the wish or yet to try list... Keys to the kingdom tour, pick a pearl at Japan pavilion, eat at California grill during wishes...

I didn't see dole whip on captain cooks all ears menu. Do they really have them there?

Does anyone have any pics of the mermaid/pirates pkg?

Is there a reason the 2nd time was not so great?

THIS! Pirates and Pals. We are wanting to do on Oct. 12th. We have waited too late, unfortunately. I am so sick about it! I'm not giving up hope yet. I'm hoping someone may cancel. I'm sure chances are slim...:(

Which time would you schedule to time the fireworks with the wagon ride? Any more info on this?

Thanks!

For the hay wagon ride, they usually have an 8:30 pm ride. As long as the fireworks are scheduled for 9pm it's works out perfect. If you go to the campgrounds early you can fit in chip and dale's campfire and sing along before. The campfire activies are free( unless you decide to buy a s'mores kit) and the hay wagon ride was $8/person( you don't need to make reservation). It's great evening outside the parks, fun and relaxing!

To make a reservation for the Pirate's League you have to call the same number you call for dining reservations (Disney Dining) and select the option for special events (if my memory is correct). Unlike making dining reservations, you cannot make reservations online for the Pirate's League. There is a required credit card guarantee but they do not charge your credit card unless you don't show up or don't cancel the appointment within 24 hours.
