Headed to the mouse end of May/early June and wondering if I could only pick 1 or 2 evening park shows what should I pick and why? Am travelling with a tween and teenager.

Also, what are some of the not to be missed shows during the day?

We are going to all 4 parks and trying to figure out our plan of attack!

Thanks,
Jenn

It was Husband and myself, no kids. We LOVED Harmonious at Epcot, but actually found the fireworks and projections at MK to be a bit disappointing. Actually, we preferred the MK fireworks the night that we watched them from behind the castle while we walked from Liberty Tree Tavern to Haunted Mansion.

Other shows -

DHS:
  • the Indiana Jones stunt show is pretty great. I work in the theatre industry and I was pretty impressed with the show overall, as well as the things they showed.
  • If you like Beauty and the Beast, or just need a break, the BATB show is good. Somehow they condensed the movie down into 25 minutes. Most of the sound is recorded - only Belle and the Beast are singing live - but the costumes and set are great.
  • We really enjoyed the Lightning McQueen show. It was pretty cute, and even my parents - who've never seen any of the Cars movies - enjoyed it
  • We thought the Muppets 3D movie was really fun and cute (also at DHS)
At MK, I think Monsters Inc Laugh Floor was the only show we did, but we loved it.

AK - The Bugs Life show was really cute and fun, and Kite Tails looked really good (we just got a couple of minutes of it, from quite a ways away). We wanted to see Lion King but when we tried, the line was so long that the CM told us that we would definitely not get into the 1 pm show and might get in for the 2 pm, but we would definitely be able to get into the 3 pm show. Had I known it was that popular, I'd have used a LL for it.

Epcot - We didn't do any shows during the day.

Thank you!

Is there an evening show at HS worth checking out?
Depending when your trip is Fantasmic may be back as it is supposed to return sometime this year

As far as current nighttime entertainment I’d recommend harmonious at Epcot it definitely exceeded my expectations while enchantment was meh

We watched Enchantment from Storybook Circus and then road barnstormer 3 times with no wait. It was awesome haha. The fireworks are actually set off SO close to there.

At DHS there is a small show but it didn't seem like a "must see."

Fantasmic was my favorite nighttime show in WDW. I can't wait for it to come back.

Any fireworks show in MK over the castle are amazing in my opinion. We also thought Harmonious was great.

Festival of the Lion King in AK is one of the best shows, if not the best, in all of WDW. The performers are so talented and the show perfectly choreographed that we never miss it when we’re there.

Probably depends on how often you go to Disney and what you enjoy doing. We hadn't been in several years and found some of the shows from MANY years ago had not changed. Muppet 3D movie was a good example. I think the movie is the same it was 20 yrs ago. Seems they could have updated it over the years so you aren't watching the same thing over and over. The fireworks shows around the lake at Epcot has changed recently, so might check that out. Lion King show is also fairly new since it is based on a recent Disney movie, was well done but nothing I would describe as special.

We enjoyed watching the MK fireworks from the patio @ Contemporary where we were staying. Avoided the mass of people exiting when the show was over even if we couldn't see some of the close-up effects around the castle.
