Our family has been to Disney World 3 times and we have many, but these are a few that stick out:

1. Being upgraded to a Theme Park View room at the Contemporary. My family had no idea what this meant, but seeing their faces as we watched the fireworks from our balcony that night was priceless.

2. On one trip as we were riding Space Mountain, it broke down in the middle of the ride and we had to evacuate. Sounds like a bummer but we got to walk through it with the lights on and it felt like a peek behind the scenes. Plus we got fast passes to come back later.

3. On our very first trip, on our very first night, we happened to be on BTMRR during the fireworks. It was an amazing view on what ended up being our favorite ride. I will never forget it!

Funny you mention #3 - on our last trip, my granddaughter was finally big enough to ride 7Dwarfs, and loved it. On our final night, we always close out the vacation at MK, and we managed to ride 7Dwarfs 4 times in a row from 7:40 - 8:00 pm - the final ride though, the fireworks started, and as we came up over the first hill, they lit up the sky. I doubt I could have planned that more perfectly.

Another is when we went when my DGD was only 2. We did the character breakfast at AK, and Mickey came back to our table to lead her around for the sing-along. She held his hand the whole time, and kept looking up at him, like she couldn't believe he was really there. Silly little things just mean so much, don't they?!

OH - almost forgot my personal experience with Jack Sparrow. It was right after the release of the original movie, and believe it or not, they had Jack Sparrow roaming MK one evening. He was MOBBED! My kids still talk about me running down Main Street, with a group of 100 other women, screaming out "Jack!!!!". I did manage to get my photo of him with his arm around me :) I'm pretty sure they cancelled that character-walkabout after experiencing all those crazy women!

In 2006 when my daughter was 5 we met Mulan and Mushu with no one else in line. My daughter told Mushu she didn't have a dragon. He took her hand and waved goodbye to Mulan and started walking off with her until Mulan reminded him that he already had a job. At 17 my daughter still talks about that.

Too many over the years but a few that stand out:

When my son was a toddler, I don't really remember how old but it was in the early 80s, we were eating breakfast at MGM Studios, it was my Mom, my son and me and evidently there were characters there, at least Chip and Dale. I really don't remember where we were eating but if I remember right it was next to 50s Prime Time. My son and Mama were sitting in the booth seat with their backs to the window and facing toward the restaurant. I had my back to the restaurant facing them. Either Chip or Dale (I get them confused) came up behind me and hugged me. Scared the crap out of me since I wasn't expecting it, I jumped and screamed bloody murder. My Mama and son saw him coming and knew what was going to happen, they died laughing, I'm talking crying, rolling around, pee in your pants laughing, poor Chip or Dale jumped as well and screamed, then covered his mouth since he/she wasn't supposed to make noise. Everyone in the place turned around and then Chip/Dale started laughing out loud, which brought everyone else to laughing. My son still talks about that and he's 37 years old now.

Years later, my son (now an adult) and I were riding ToT, which is our favorite ride. It broke down on the first scene when it opens the doors and the people are standing there waving at you. They had to turn the lights on, which was pretty cool. We sat for a while then they told us they were going to have to go ahead and drop up so they did. When we got off they told us we could get right back on, no line if we wanted. We were the only ones in the car to do so, we have hoped for a breakdown ever since but hasn't happened yet.

Last summer my son and I had dinner at V&As. We always do one high ticket item when we go and decided that would be it for that trip. We both love to dress up and play grown up. It was perfect. We loved the food (waddled out of there not able to eat the dessert) both of us had a wine pairing and we loved that, especially my son since he had to finish most of mine. By the end we were both fully stuffed and more than a little tipsy, the harpist was playing a Beatles song, which my son declared was better than the original. I couldn't believe my ears, "you are dead to me I declared" right when the waiter came to the table to start our coffee. At first he was shocked then my son started laughing, which of course, got him to laughing. Which got me to laughing. The three of us were sitting/standing there laughing like crazy people. Thankfully we weren't doing it loud so we weren't disturbing anyone but the waiter told us that had never happened before and he enjoyed it so much he gave us extra chocolates to take with us.

Gosh, there's been so many...

But probably my best one was my first two encounters with Peter Pan as an adult. The first time, I didn't get to his M&G in time to get in line (this was when he was still in Adventureland) so I decided to get myself a spot nearby where I could just watch and work on writing my trip report because he was extremely entertaining (and really cute). I guess I must have been staring a little too much because as soon as he finished with the last person in line, he hurried over to where I was, got three inches away from my face (my god he was even dreamier up close) and asked if I was writing a story about him to which I immediately felt my face flush and struggled to form a cohesive sentence.

The second time, I was prepared and when I went to see him, I asked him to make me a Lost Girl and he led me through all the things I would need to do like knowing stories and making pumpkin pancakes and declared me his and the Lost Boys new mother.

I go visit Peter every trip now. :lovestruc

My very favorite is from our first trip the first year WDW was open. We had stopped to get ice cream and were sitting and talking about which ticket to use next. I don’t remember a lot about that trip (apparently I cried all the way back to the car that night because “I was never going to be able to come back” - lol!) but I remember how happy and excited I was in that moment. It was better than Christmas!
