Mine happened during SpectroMagic. DS7 drew his glow sword on the Big Bad Wolf. Big mistake! The wolf came over to him, pushed the sword to the side, slowly shook his head "no", and waved his finger from side to side. DS7 then "fainted" on the ground. It was VERY funny. I think DS was really just a little scared, but he played it off well!!! We have it on video and watch it all the time. :goodvibes

For it me was my daughters first time seeing Peter Pan. I had told her that I personally knew Peter and that I phoned him and that he knew we were coming to visit him. ( you see my name is Wendy get it? ) Well anyway she was just in love with the movie at the time so when we got to our resort we went and bought an autograph book and proceeded to the MK the next day. Well when we first walked in who do we see first thing?? PETER PAN I thought she was going to faint. Of course she just ran to him and was the first one to him! She was so flustered she couldn't even speak! She was on cloud nine all day. :cloud9: She still talks about it to this day! To me that moment was priceless!

The first time my younger DD met Cinderella....

This was a few years ago and he was probably about 9 or 10 and we went to visit her in her groto for an autograph and photo. Well they got into a pin discussion and unfortunately he did not have an Ariel pin - but he was "smitten" with her. Of course after we saw her we had to go out and purchase an Ariel pin. Later that day at the 3:00 parade we are watching the parade go by and who should pass by but Ariel. Well, she recognized my boyfriends son and montioned to him if he purchased her pin. He showed her his lanyard proudly displaying his new pin. She smiled at him and kind of gave him the ok sign - he has been in love ever since. Of course, his father loved getting his picture taken with her also.

We have a lot of great moments.

Here's one...

My son purchased a fake sword at the POTC gift shop. At Tony's there was Aladdin and Wendy. DS went to get an autograph. Wendy noticed the sword. She and Aladdin went on and on about DS protecting them from pirates. Wendy thought pirates were nearby, and DS was there to protect her. DS was just thrilled. You should have seen how happy he was.

Then people want to know why we always vacation here. :wizard:

For my family personally, it was when we had dinner in Norway at Epcot. My son is 11 and now avoids any contact, including eye contact with the princesses. Sleeping Beauty pounced on this and came and snuggled next to him on the chair, hugging him, saying how handsome he was, telling him he was breaking her heart. It was hilarious, the whole family (had grandparents and a cousin with us) was hysterical, my son was mortified and the little boy sitting next to us (about the same age) was so glad it wasn't him!

Another one I love that is rather sad but very sweet, was at Chef Mickey's last October. A group of four sisters was waiting ahead of us to see Donald Duck. I would saya they were all in their fifties, we chatted a bit as we all waited which was how I found out it was "sisters only" trip for them. One of them was clearly very ill, you could tell she had had chemo, was in a wheelchair but they were all having fun. The sisters kidded this one sister about how long it was taking for them to wait so she could see Donald and she said "well this is my last time you know". When she got up to Donald he spent a lot of time really hamming it up with her, he got down on one knee and pretended to propose, it was so sweet. Then when they wheeled her away, she turned around and said "bye Donald". It made me so sad and yet I admired all of those women so much for really having fun and just enjoying life as it was for them. God bless her, she probably never did get back again, she looked so ill. It made me realize that if I am ever in that situation myself, I too would want to spend my last vacation at WDW. I still hope maybe she pulled through though.

I've said it before, but this picture is so wonderful-- great hug, Cindy!!!

Thanks MissusToad!!! I love it and it's one of my favorites from that trip!!! If the camera had been on me, you would have seen the tears flowing away at the sight! :rotfl:

Mine occurred last July at Cinderella dinner in the GF. We were celebrating dd's 5th birthday. On a trip to the lady's room we encountered Fairy Godmother in the lobby. Dd wanted to ask if her a question, but she was a bit shy. She finally gathered her courage and whispered to a kneeling Fairy Godmother, "Do you really say bippity boppity boo?" Fairy godmother gathered dd in her lap and sang the whole song to her...it was precious!

My most magical character moment happened last August while celebrating my daughter's birthday at CRT. We were there having lunch, meeting all the princesses, getting autographs and taking pictures. When it came time to meet Cinderella herself, however, we ran out of film (must invest in a new digital!). Cindy signed my daughter's book and spent a little extra time accepting our apologies, etc. and then moved on. Later that day when we returned to our room at POP, there on one of the beds was a signed picture of Cinderella to my daughter with balloons and ribbons. So if you've never believed in the magic.... princess:

much love,
Mimi

Both at MNSSHP. My two (DS 11 and DD 8) were dressed as Mickey and Minnie from Steamboat Willie. We were waiting to see Mickey at toontown outside his house when a cast member saw the kids and became all excited. She asked us to come back in a few minutes and she would have a surprise for us. We did and she took us back to where you would normally meet Mickey inside and there was Cinerella and Prince Charming. They spent 15 minutes chatting with my two while I snapped photos. A few days later we went back to a 2nd party and on the trail to tomorrowland we met the Mad Hatter. He was so excited that they were in their costumes again he had seen them the previous night and had brought his own camera with him. The Mad Hatter wanted his picture with Steamboat Willie and Minnie LOL.

Mine was during MNSSHP last year. My son was 14 months old and he was dressed as Prince Charming and the girls were Cinderella and Snow White. We went to see Cinderella and Prince Charming was there. They were LOVING my son, we held the line up for 10 minutes because my son was having such a good time with them. We took the greatest pictures, the photopass guy took over 30 of them! In a group shot, I didn't know until after that Prince Charming had kissed my older dd's hand. She whispered it to me right after it happened and when I uploaded the pictures, it was absolutely hilarious! Here are a few pics from that experiance...

1st or 2nd trip for DD and we were in Epcot In one of the back store rooms was the Big dude from Mulan.
DD wanted his Auto so I was taking Video of it .He Wouldn't sign it and the CM said he doesn't like to be video'd and I would have to bow and ask for his forgiveness.

I played along came over on one knee when I went to put my head down he put his foot on my shoulder and pushed me over started to laugh and signed away Then he dismissed us .Where's Mulan when you need her.

DD got a big kick out of it.

I have a wonderful character experience, but it does not involve children, seeing that I don't have any children. It was my first trip to WDW in 1993.
My age was 40, my DH age was 64. We did a character breakfast, I think it was at The Contemporary. Tigger approached me, and I sort of ....lost it.
All of a sudden I gushed: "Tigger you're my very favorite !!", and then my eyes kind of welled up a little. I was shocked that I said that: I didn't even know that I had it in me to feel that kind of ...... "magic".

:tigger:

My most magical character moment happened several years ago in 2002. My mom, myself and my dd (18 months at the time) took an unplanned trip to WDW. My mom had just been diagnosed with end stage lung cancer (to look at her at the time you would not have known anything was wrong.)

We were in the MK and all day it seemed like whenever it was dds turn to meet a character it was time for them to take a break. Luckily dd was being pretty good about this. Then when we were in line to meet Daisey Duck in toontown over my the train station. Well the same thing happened and dd lost. I took dd over to the side to calm her down. The cast member with the characters was talking to my mom. My mom told her why we were there (pre-chemo trip) and about all we had done and how by using the ECV she was able to go everywhere with dd and I instead of waiting. Well the cast member told my mom to come back in about five minutes.

So we hung out there for about five minutes. Then all of a sudden Daisey appeared with other characters. Well ofcourse there was a mad rush to meet all the characters. Well the cast member held off everyone and let dd and my mom play with Daisey and the other characters. It was only for a few minutes but to my mom, myself, and dd they were the most magical moments of our trip.

Unfortunatley my mom lost her battle in January of 2004. My dd and I enjoy looking at those pictures and remembering my mom and our trip before she got really sick. My endless thanks go out to that cast member and those characters. To this day my dd now five talks about that moment she had with her grandma and daisey. It really does not get any better than that! :wizard:

That is so sweet. I have tears streaming down my face now. What a special moment.

There are several great moments w/ the characters. Our last trip (on our honeymoon in November 2003), we took our picture with the Genie. He was trying to convince me to lose my DH and to start dating him. I told the Genie that I would "call him later." Another time was when my DH finally interacted with a character...Eyore. He was very straight-faced with all characters except him. And, of course, finally being able to hug Donald Duck. He's my favorite character. Justing hugging him just brought a smile to me from ear to ear.

Crying even more now.... Another beautiful moment.

What awesome moments you have all shared so far!

Here are a few of my favorites:

1. Meeting Mike and Sully. My boys were shocked by how big they were and thought they must be statues not "real monsters" so my 4 and 5 year old boys each approached them with one finger out, very shyly and very quickly touched each of them to make sure they were "real". It doesn't sound like much but was a truly magical moment!

2. Esmerelda and Clopin (a character from the Hunchback of Notre Dame) in the France section of Epcot. NOBODY was around. They played with my boys for over 15 minutes. Whenever other people did wonder into the area they would stop playing with my boys, do a photo/hug/how are you with them and then return to playing with my boys. This was a priceless time for our family. Both of them being able to talk (since they were face characters) made it even better.

3. Same day a bit later we ran across Genie in Morocco. Genie saw my boys looking at him and picked up the telephone and proceeded to try and make a phone call in all sorts of silly ways. My boys spent a few minutes "teaching" Genie how to use a phone. It was such a wonderful few minutes that it is still (3 years later) something my kids always talk about.

4. At AK we saw Stitch hiding behind a tree. He was all alone and people were walking past him so my sons went up to him and said "We found you"...his handler told Stitch it was his turn to count since he had been found and my boys hid behind the bench right next to the tree. Stitch then found them and bopped them and hid again (this time he picked up a palm frond and held it up in front of his face). My boys had the best time playing and seek with Stitch!!

Many more but those are the ones that come to mind right off!
