I went to the Reimen visitors center today. Got me a new cookbook!

I LOVE http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/ Great for those who love the food porn threads. Her photography is beautiful and she has lots of quick contests.

YES!! Big thumbs up for the Pioneer Woman. She has changed my life (cooking-wise). I've made several of her recipes which have now become family favorites. We had a dinner party last nigth and my friends were raving about the meal. All of the recipes were from PW!

I'm working up the nerve to try her risotto. Bought all the ingredients. Now, just need the perfect time to do it.

That I find helpful to a point because I like to know if others felt it needed more garlic, less liquid, if the cooking time was off or if they did it stove top instead of in the crock pot etc. What drives me nuts are reviews where people changed quite a bit then slammed the dish. IE "I used pork instead of chicken, I did not have fresh garlic so I used powder, I used fat free half and half instead of cream and subbed the sundried tomatoes with roasted peppers. The flavors were off - my family hated it and we won't be making it again"

I love All Recipes because you can sort by rating if you are looking for something "tried and true"

I don't mind if they say that it needed something so they added. Or maybe that next time they would change something. The ones that drive me nuts are where they clearly had no intention of following the recipe in the first place. Just like you wrote, they change everything and then review it as if they followed the recipe.

What did you make? Her stuff always looks great but I have never tried anything yet.

Update: Just made the risotto and it is AWESOME!
