After much debate we finally decided to add Jiko to our list of dinners. So what is your favorite app/entree/dessert from here?

Overall we are doing Jiko, Narcoosee's, LeCellier, Kona, Tutu Italia, and Chef Mickeys.

Thanks for your imput podcast foodies!!!

Gotta have the "Taste of Africa" appetizer. Mmmmm, I love it.

I also liked the filet mignon with mac & cheese when I had it in Jan 2007, but it sounds like it didn't get such a good review by Kevin and John recently. Sounds like the portion sizes got smaller.

I'm also a fan of the Tusker beer.

Kevin was right. After our dining review, I have often found myself thinking "I could really go for some Taste of Africa right now..." Don't miss that appetizer, but be prepared to be thinking the same thing months after the fact. :lmao:

The Barbecue Chicken Flatbread is good. I once went and made dinner out of Taste of Africa and two chicken flatbread. I had to share the first one with everyone at the table.:)

I had the filet mignon & the mac & cheese on my 12/07 trip and it was to die for! I still think about it:rotfl: Assuming I can still afford my May trip, I will be making ressies to eat there again.

Here's my Taste of Africa appetizer from May of last year.

Mmmmmmmm. With that restricted substance Naan bread too... *dabs up drool*

I love the Beef Short Rib, but I get it with the Mac and Cheese that comes with the filet. The BBQ chicken flatbread is great and the samosas!

favorite appetizers - Lamb Patis (not currently on the menu), BBQ chicken flatbread, and the Ostrich.
entrees - Filet w/mac & cheese and Short Ribs
desserts - Pistachio creme brulee

Happy Eating!!!:thumbsup2

Oh my that looks sooooo good I am definately excited. We always go to Boma and it has slipped a bit; so we are going for Jiko!! The Pistachio Creme Brulee sounds wonderful. Which of those breads is the naan bread?

It's the bread on the plate, in front of the dips. So yummy!

I absolutely ADORE Jiko! It doesn't help much that it is at our home resort either. ;)

Appie - Taste of Africa MmMmmmm...
Entree - Hands-down, Mac & Cheese Filet
Dessert - Anything not nailed down... ;)

The scallops at Jiko were great. Also the curry shrimp - but not as good as scallops

Dh and I have never had an entree or an appetizer that we didn't like at Jiko's. We have had everything on the menu at one time or another (except all the desserts) and although we have favorites, we have enjoyed everything.

My favorite is the Maize-crusted Halibut with Vegetables of the Moment, Tomato-Butter Sauce. It's also the entree they include in the Disney chef cookbook.

They used to prepare that dish with monkfish. I used to dream about it.
