What is your fave WDW TRIP memory?

I think my fave moment is when my DD 14 was 9 y/o, she was scared to try Splash Mtn. (go figure...she rode all the other mtn's multiple times).Anyway, she got up the nerve to try it , so we went on during the last moments before park closing. We were the only ones in line...I mean literally the ONLY ones....the CM's told us to pick ANY log!!!LOL!!!. As we went on the ride, she loved all the scenes, but was pretty nervous at the "big hill". Anyway, as we got to the very top of the hill, the fireworks went off over the castle, and we had a beautiful view, although a quick one...My DD was so amazed by the view that she actually forgot about the hill...and loved the ride. The picture that was taken as we went down the hill is perfect, we are the only ones in the log (no strangers) and we all have an amazed/happy look on our faces!!!! I had to buy the 8x10....it now sits on our mantle!:teeth:

In 1989, we were taking our two children and going on our first trip to Walt Disney World. My wife and I had decided to ask her parents if they wanted to go with us. It was going their 50th Wedding Anniversary and they had never taken a "real" vacation in all of those years. They were as thrilled to go as we were to have them. So, off we headed to Florida on Delta Airlines (the Official Airlines of Walt Disney World).

We chose to stay at the Polynesian. On our first evening there, my wife was busy getting the kids to bed, so I wandered out onto the beach by myself. I remember standing there and staring at Cinderella's Castle. I couldn't believe we were there. All of those pictures in the Birnbaum Guide had come to life. The trip ended up being one of the most memorable vacations of our life. We had so much fun that my mother-in-law cried when we left. They couldn't thank us enough for asking them to come along.

Today, both of my in-laws have passed away and the kids have grown up, but still, everytime my wife and I return to Walt Disney World, I can't forget that first trip and how fantastic it was.

:D My fav. memory would have to be when my DD was chosen to demonstrate the monkey jambo at the FOTLK for the different sections. It was also her birthday and the great CM, Dave, introduced her and told everyone it was her bday. Later she was also chosen to participate at the end in the little dance! It was really a very magical moment!:sunny:

My all-time favorite memory is October of 2002, the first trip which included my youngest, who was 4 at the time. We drove down from TN, arriving at the MK a little after lunch. We enter the park, round the corner on Main Street and get that first view of the castle. She starts jumping up and down with delight exclaiming, "there's the castle, there's the castle". It was a moment of pure joy in a little girl's life. We have that on video and have watched it countless times.

I love this thread! All these memories that are springing to life!

It reminded me of when my parents took me to Disneyland in '84. Even though I was only 5, I remember how HUGE IASW looked to me, and also the fox (and another character) from Pinnochicco took my sneaker and started running down main st. I was so upset! I was crying and putting on a fabulous show in front of the guests entering through the gates because I wanted my sneaker back, and didn't understand that he was playing with me! My dad still teases me about that moment to this day.

I posted this story on another thread.... but It is one of our families favorite memories....

May 2004 we were lucky enough to be able to take our DD and our DGD to WDW. Our trip had been planned for DH and I for over a year and we were able to add the other 2 one week before we left. Disney was great in working this out....anyway....We had dinner at Cinderellas Royal Table for dinner planned our 1st night there, our DGD was 11 months old at the time and was just starting to walk around the furniture while holding on to things, and had never wanted you to let her hands go...we were sitting downstairs waiting for our names to be called and in comes Cinderella, DGD had been walking around holding her mommy's fingers the entire time, well when she saw Cinderella she let go and took off tottering all the way across the room, Cinderella kneeled down and held out her arms and took her into a great big hug, the entire place was clapping and cheering her on...probably because my DD yelled to me from across the room....mom "Chloe's walking" Sitting here typing this is actually making me tear up...anyway it was probably one of the best memories of my life. Talk about "MAGICAL"!!! We will never forget it. I think it made my DD year, she is always telling people that her daughter learned to walk at WDW!

(I posted this on another thread, too - but it's a wonderful story!)

Last Christmas week was my very first trip to WDW ever, to see my two older children march with their high school band in the afternoon parade at the Magic Kingdom. Now, you would think that THAT would make me cry, and it did, but what happened to me before they came down Main Street is the very essence of WDW for me, and why I have totally lost my heart to this place.

I left my husband and younger son sitting on the curb, holding our space for the parade, and went to the store to get a pair of Mickey ears. There was a lovely older woman behind the counter, and when it was my turn, I said the first thing that came into my head - "I've waited 42 years for this, and I'm here to get my very first pair of Mickey ears." For some reason, I just welled up. This sweet woman took my hand, and asked me if this was my very first trip here, and when I told her that it was, she broke into a huge smile, and said "Well then, let me be the first to welcome you, Mouseketeer, and the ears are on us!". And she embroidered my name onto a pair, then carefully placed them onto my head, and secured them with 2 bobby pins she took out of her drawer.

Magic, indeed . . .

Thanks for giving me a chance to remember that wonderful woman, who showed me the truest example of all that is good about Disney.

Sept. 19th 1994 3pm, Honeymoon... walked into MK for my very first time and Mickey Mania was rolling down Main Street. I've been trapped by the mouse ever since.:goodvibes

Here is mine. Its more of the neatest pixie dust I got when on a trip.

We were vacationing to the world at the end of Nov 2001. We were on a bus on the way back to Coronado and my son (10 months old at the time) was flirting with 2 ladies in the seat behind us.

Long story short. The ladies were on a trip paid for by their company TORO. And they were leaving the next day. Well they had the tickets that actually expire and had one day left on them and were not going to use them because they were leaving. They were very kind to give their tickets to us :)

It is something I just tell people all the time about the nicest thing that happened to me at WDW.

So if the two ladies who are from TX and work for TORO are reading this and were in the world at the end of Nov in 2001, THANK YOU ::yes:: You truely made that trip magical :)

These stories keep getting better and better.
Billmel, I know that you truly cherish that moment, and are happy you were able to be a part of that...let alone the fact that Cinderella herself was able to inspire it ;)

I have a lot of favs but this one comes to mind. Our 2nd trip my mom and dad went with us. We took DD who was celebrating her 8th Bday that day to CRT for a surprise breakfast. Well you know how your emotions can get the best of you at WDW sometimes. My DD is opening her presents, I look over and my Dad who was 68 is wiping tears from his face. Such a magical and memorable moment.
