What park will you be at for the meal you are looking for? We love the Plaza Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom for a "change of pace" from all the heavy meals--they have great sandwiches, shakes and desserts; we also love the Crystal Palace for breakfast at the MK with Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore and Piglet (we've never done lunch or dinner but they have gotten good reviews). We went to Yak & Yeti at the Animal Kingdom in September for the first time and really enjoyed it.

not sure what park we will be in...but we usually take a mid-day break...then go out to dinner and back to a park...so it doesn't matter the location so much.

not looking for another character meal, really....unless it is really good...more-so looking for good food

thinking...maybe Jiko?? never been. any reviews?

Victoria and Albert's is my absolute favorite - amazing food, atmosphere and impeccable service. No kids under 10 and very expensive - may not work for your group, but I thought I'd mention that one too since you asked.

Jiko - Wonderful food, atmosphere and generally wonderful service. Children are welcome here, but it's not the most welcoming environment for children. VERY good date night though!

Crystal Palace - Favorite with kids. Food is fine, atmosphere is good for children, and I think it's pretty and enjoy dining with a view of the castle.

I really like Kona Cafe. First off, the Hawaiian bread is AMAZING. Their steaks are always delicious, as are their Asian influenced dinners. Service is usually very quick, and the chocolate fondue for dessert is bowl-licking good.:worship:

Also have to throw in a vote for 50s Prime Time- love the pot roast and we love the atmosphere! Fun! And a good way to have a meal in DHS.

i had this booked originally, and changed it since we have o'hana. would both be too much polynesian? or is kona better than o'hana? i just thought o'hana would be fun for the kids.

I would change Teppan Edo for Chefs de France..we just returned and this is our new favorite restaurant. Everything was great! DH had the french onion soup which he said was the best anywhere. I LOVED my baked mac and cheese dish (check out pics from others on the food porn thread w/pics from here)...the desserts were awesome, the kids even loved their noodles and chicken here. I have to redo my schedule for the next trip to fit this one in again.

What about 50's Prime time? We are eating there again this trip and it is loads of fun. Yummy comfort food and great CM's.

Boma breakfast is just incredible. If you are looking for dinner I would say Jiko or Flying Fish

I would suggest either Kona or Boma. They are both at resorts which will make it easy to go to any park that day. Boma is incredible! Its a must do on every trip for us. It is a unique buffet, but there is something for everyone. :goodvibes

Haven't done Boma dinner but do agree with Boma breakfast...unbelievable buffet! by far the best breakfast we had.

I loved Kona Cafe too. It had great meals and great sushi too. I passed Ohana a few times on the way to the restroom and it seems much more upscale and fancier than Kona. However, Kona was fancy too - just not that fancy. :) I think kids would rather eat at Kona, in my opinion. But then again, I've never been to Ohana - I'm just going on atmosphere.

We also love Yak & Yeti and 50s Prime Time. 50s Prime Time is a MUST for kids. You'll never find another resteraunt like it.

If this is on a day when you will not have another major meal, then a buffet would be great, and we really liked Boma.

Just a note about 50s PT. Our food was amazing!!!! We ate there last week. BUT, we had ADRS for 1:50. We checked in at 1:25 and were not seated until after 3pm. It was a lot of wasted park time and while I practically licked the bowl clean, I can't see us returning anytime soon because it has gotten so busy and just took up too much time. Just a thought. A quick note about our favorite meals. We LOVED LeCellier. I was getting nervous hearing some bad reviews but it was just perfect. Other great meals, my potroast at 50s for sure. The BBQ beef melt at Wolfgang Puck Express (had it twice it was soooo good,) but that's a CS. Still, a great meal...

We aren't even home yet and I am missing the food already... We didn't have a single bad meal. Yes, we liked some more than others, but all were great!!!

We ate at
WCC, Kona, 50s, Cali Grill, Chef Mickey's (Thanksgiving dinner), CRT, LeCellier, Akerhaus, and Chef Mickey's breakfast on our last day, yesterday.

I would also have to cast my vote for Boma. We live in Florida and make several trips to WDW each year. Jiko is very nice, but Boma is the highlight of all our trips. The food is great, the staff is very accommodating and the restaurant is kid friendly. It's a win win choice.

Also have to throw in a vote for 50s Prime Time- love the pot roast and we love the atmosphere! Fun! And a good way to have a meal in DHS.
:thumbsup2 on the pot roast. Love the PTC. But be worned, there are characters, like Auntie Sherry and Cousin Vern, and they'll give you all you can take in antics. And for the long wait, there's a great bar attached. We had to wait an hour and a half last year, but never minded at all. The bar was as much fun as the Diner.

I would vote for Boma if you've never been there. We went last year, and it was SO good. There were a lot of different flavors, but not so much that most people would be weirded out. I probably tried a little of EVERYTHING, and I felt like it was just such an adventurous and fun meal. The service was great, and even my DD (7) loved it. In fact, when we return in Feb, we are wanting to try all new places, but this is the only restaurant we both felt we MUST DO again.

Good luck with your choice!!!

Another vote for KONA!!! We love Kona...everything is good from apps to desserts. My kids enjoy it and we love the Poly resort. Its nice because its close to MK and enjoy being in the resort. Food is great and we, like many others, just walked right past it for years. Now its a cant miss!
