What Is Your Family WDW Tradition

Run, Run, Run to the Haunted Mansion and then to Pirates of the Caribbean!

Love those rides!

I'm with Mouse Man on this one! It doesn't matter how long the line is, the first thing we HAVE to do is go on Peter Pan. Just standing in line, listening to that music makes me all giddy! lol! Now, if only I could make the next two months go by faster...hmmm.....

I love this thread:D

After we arrive and unpack it's off to the MK. There's something about walking down Main Street towards the castle that gives me chills. It lets us all know we're here...:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Then it's off to BTMR, our favorite, then Peter Pan, POTC, Space Mountain and anything else we can fit in before dinner. On our first night we always have dinner at Chef Mickey's. Where else can you see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald sometimes, Chip and Dale all in one place. It's such a happy place and the kids love it. I can't think of a better way to start our vacation:D

We always have a picture in front of the castle by one of the park photographers. We have one 8x10 photo frame at home that we put the most recent picture in front and display. All the past photos are kept behind the most recent picture. It is always fun to look at the past photos when we put the new one in the frame.

It kind of started as an accident (since it is the first ride you come to in Adventureland), but since it is my FAVORITE ride, POTC is our first and if I have anything to do with it, the last ride of our vacation.

We also always eat at Chef Mickey's, and have cheese soup in Canada.

Our family tradition is Chef Mic's on our first night. That really gets things started off! Another tradition is eating at Boma the night of the half/full marathon -- red meat!!!

We always do Chef Mickeys our first night there and Magic Kingdom our last day, so we can end our trip with FIS and one last ride on the monorail.

First ride and last ride.... BTMRR. But not this october

But first, as soon as we get into the car to go to the airport, I look at my dd and say "Hey, sweetie, I've got a great idea!" "What's that mommy?" "Let's go to DISNEYWORLD!!!!" Then she takes a turn. We do this the whole way down, and on and off during our trip.

On our first day we eat at Donald's Breakfastaurus and spend the morning in Animal Kingdom :)

This is exactly what we do. Only, my DS the animal lover and Future Biologist or Veteranarian (sp?) insists on spending the whole day at AK, mostly at Conservation Station (is that the name?).

We always eat at least one meal at Crystal Palace too.. That is for me... 'Cause I can't go to the World without hugging Tigger at least once.

My wife and I always have our picture taken at the wishing well at the side of the castle
Also an unplanned but regular always do (at least once in every holiday) is managing to get lost in the van and ending up on the toll road ??

The first night we arrive we always hit DTD to get into that prime Disney mood. We're usually having to stay at some off site motel that night as our ressies don't start till the next day. The only other tradition I can think of is we always eat breakfest at Rainforest Cafe outside AK before going right when it opens.

OH...one more!

We also get new caricatures made outside the Brown Derby each time we go. Actually we get one of the newest person in the family to go with us. Which means next trip we'll have three new pictures to get made; Brynn, Maggie and my mother-in-law.

Our Derby picture wall is going to grow out of control!

We usually check-in to our resort, unpack, then head to downtown Disney. We then have a PS at one of the resorts (next one is Polynesian Luau). We always wait until the first full day before hitting the parks (we use PHP tickets) and always start with Magic Kingdom.

I always head to our room and IMMEDIATELY turn on the TV for my "Zip a Dee Doo Dah.....Tip for Today". I can't wait to hear that tune again.

Next is, if any of my DD's are with me, we HAVE to ride IASW. Even though they are all grown with families of their own now, we still ride IASW together. Most of the time we end up in tears because of the many happy memories that return.

We drive to WDW - so

We always take the wrong exit getting there.

When we finally arrive, since we're tired and stressed from being lost - we just do our DTD shopping to get destressed.

Thanksgiving is becoming a tradition since the last two times were during the Thanksgiving holiday, and we're planning our next trip for Thanksgiving 2004.

We usually eat at RFC on the day we visit AK.

We're always sad to leave:(

We always eat at Tony's Town Square and Teppanyaki. We started this 7 years ago, and we make it a point to eat there each trip. Also, there are always two pictures I have to get on each trip: Pluto licking my daughter's face and my son under the POTC talking parrot. We started this when he was one-year old and he will be twelve years old next week.

Every trip we get silhouettes done of the kids on Main St. - it's fun to see the changes in faces/hairdos/hats, etc in the last 25 years! The teenagers always groaned when getting it done, but now they're all waiting for the will to kick in so they can take theirs to hang in their own houses! (we've recently thought to add a couple of 'double-head' ones of us -mom and dad, that is) - next trip we're adding a new grandbaby to the collection:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
(pinkbounce because they say it's a girl!):smooth:

We also take the mandatory series of 'pictures in same place' - DS next to the wooden troll in Norway - each kid holding hand out with SE in their palm - oh, they just love standing there while I line that one up!!!;)
