what is your dream car?

BTW, I saw one of these on the road in the Chicago area this weekend:

Did it have the "Flux Capacitor"? If it did, then that would be my dream car. :thumbsup2

Actually, my dream car is the one we have. A Honda Odyssey EX-L with Navigation. We can pack everyone in there. It has the DVD player for the long road-trips and it has the navigation, which I JUST helped my wife with over the phone, since she is lost right now. And have you seen how much you can pack in there?!

Well then...................I'm glad i'm leaning more towards the saturn :moped: . Susan

Well this is what I have to say for the Crossfire... Not many people have one, so everyone always looks. But it's slow, the transmission has a mind of its own, hard to take it anywhere, and very uncomfortable. Plus it's fairly expensive. (I'm a Mopar girl too, so you know it's gotta be bad when I don't like it, hehehe.)

I haven't test drove a Sky yet and I probably never will. But both my boyfriend and I think its a good looking car. It's got the dent resistent body, I would assume its fairly cheap. I would def get the Sky over the Soltice. The Soltice is junk.

Squirlz: I LOVE MINI COOPERS! OMG and you think you get a lotta attention with that, wait til you see an old one. OMG they are like the size of my big toe! ;)

I love my car. It's a 2002 Chevy Blazer...one of the last 4 door models ever made. It has almost 150,000 miles on it. I plan to rebuild the engine and transmission when the time comes. It's just perfect for me and, since they don't make them anymore, I'm keeping mine until it disintigrates into dust. pixiedust:

A red 1961 Corvette convertible. :sunny: :goodvibes

Or possibly a teal colored version.

For anyone interested in the SKY--the base price is about $23K. It's going to be hard to get one for that price, most of the dealers are adding dealership installed aftermarket items to boost the price. Additionally Saturn is already talking about a large base price increase going into the 2008 model year. Why? Because they can. They are only building 10,000 a year, and dealers already ahve orders for about 30,000, about half of those with deposits. Yes, people are putting non-refundable deposits on a car they've never driven and won't get for a year or more. Many dealers aren't even taking names to get on a list to order a car anymore. How did I get mine so early? I was on a waiting list for about 18 months at the dealer I bought it from. I ordered a standard (the list is a LOT longer for automatics) and I ordered it from a high volume dealership.

The dealers are getting allocations based on their overall sales volume as well as convertible sales in their area. So a dealership in AK is probably getting one a month allocated, while a high volume dealership in FL might be getting as many as five a month. Three a month is the US average.

Bottom line, at this point there are two ways to get a SKY. Either get on a list and wait, or tell a dealer that you'll take any SKY that comes in regardless of color/options that someone else passes on.

A Porsche Cayman, in silver! Heck, I'll never afford one though.

"Dream car" is an oxymoron as far as I'm concerned. I care that my car is reliable and gets good gas mileage. Otherwise, I don't give a hoot what I'm driving. I guess in an ideal world if the Toyota Camry got 50 mpg, I might like to have a new one. ;)

They have a Camry Hybrid but I dont think it gets 50mpg yet, could be wrong though!

Just sold an MR2 Spyder for a Scion tC....love it, Toyota relability, quick, stylish, lots of features and unlike my MR2 Spyder it has actual storage space!

Dream car is a McLaren F1, realistic dream car is an Acura NSX

This really surprise's me. I live in a small town but the average income is up there so I see Jag's and BMW's on a daily basis but surprisingly see more crossfire's. I also see a lot of soltise. I watched an episode of car and driver and the other car show(can't remember the name) and they both gave the crossfire and soltise high mark's. My son has told me to ignore those show's and go for the saturn :rolleyes1 . Before my husband passed away he always pick out our car's after much research and how they looked :teeth: . This deciding on a car is much harder than I expected, after all I must also look good behind the wheel princess: . Susan

I want a car that has been enchanted a la Harry Potter ..... ya know, is small on the outside, but can magically fit anything you want in there comfortably! And heck, while we're at it, let's enchant it to fly too - that will help immensely with the traffic I face every day! :rotfl:

Seriously, I'm not that picky. My only requirement right now is for it to have enough seats that all 3 of my kids are properly secured in safety seats, and it is fuel efficient. My current vehicle fits the bill, so i'm good. One day I'd like the same thing but in a much newer model, one that has automatic door unlockers etc. like DH's car does.

Well, I didn't ask my boyfriend, but he might choose the Crossfire for the whole fact it's a Chrysler and not a Saturn cuz it's a GM...

I follow Car and Driver religiously, but I do think that their views of cars are a bit biased. There was once this tv show, Fifth Gear, they did really good at judging cars.

And I do agree with your late husband about doing research. I've done research on the car I want to buy for the 8 years of my life. I finally decided what I am going to get. Part of it is because it's a Chrysler and my boyfriend told me if I bought any other car he wouldn't fix it, and I just drove it and it was absolutely lovely. I went over the bumpiest road and it was like there were no bumps. My only argument is the speed sensitive steering, and at city speeds you have to turn the wheel a lot to take a 90 degree turn. It all comes down to that test drive!

Here's my attainable dream car:

Chevrolet Corvette Z06
505hp, 7.0L V-8 -- 0-60 in less than 4.0 seconds.

Unattainable dream cars -
That list is too long to mention.

Here's my current car (except I don't have chrome wheels):

One that doesn't require fuel ,registration, never gets "sick" and doesn't require insurance! :rotfl:

I built the car mostly from scratch. I built a zz430 from a GM performance crate motor ,with roller rockers, pink rods. swapped out the cam , Holley 750cm carb, 9.5 to 1 ratio. Hooker headers trailing to a 3" Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust. Backed up by a TH 350 turbo and BF Goodrich for the skins.
455 Horses
435 foot pounds of torque.
It'll leave the stock 454 standing there like an ugly prom date.

I would take a Mercedes (any kind will do). I am not picky

Living here in England Mercedes are very common and I had the chance to buy one for only £400 which is about $720, it has about 120000 miles on the clock but was in great condition and it's white and drives like a dream. Mercedes will go over 200000 miles no problem so I figure the amount I drive it will last me another 6 years before I need to buy anything else.

We just bought a Land Rover LR3!! I love it but.....but I really want is the Range Rover ;) . I would also love the Mercedes Benz G500 otherwise known as the G-wagon! I am a luxury SUV girl. princess:

We also have a Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition. So much room in that car for the kids but, I prefer to drive the LR3. ;)

HAHAH! I'll run this by my boyfriend so he can explain to me what some of that is... the only thing I understood was the Flowmaster and the BF's....

Most people don't do engine swaps though... well if they buy their dream car that is..
