I was inspired by the "What is your least favorite household chore" thread to ask this question:

What is your biggest household chore pet peeve?

Mine is when my DF leave their socks inside out, pant legs inside out (often only one, which angers me even more!:headache: ), and shirt sleeves inside out. DH has told me that it's something that happens in the washing machine, but i don't believe it. I hate turning other peoples clothing right side out when I am sorting the dirty laundry. Especially the stinky socks!!!

I hate it when DW and DD always come into the house and put everything on the kitchen table and leave it there. Also when they throw away garbage when the garbage can is full and it just falls off to the side.

Mine is when my husband puts dirty dishes on the counter right next to the sink or dishwasher instead of in the sink or dishwasher.

The inside out shirt sleeve or pant leg is also a biggie too.

In addition to the housekeeping pet peeves mentioned above:

1) Not changing the toilet paper roll when the old one runs out - how hard is it to put a new one on?!?!

2) When you take the last of something, not throwing the empty box away - drives me nuts to think I have something, only to discover that I don't!

3) After mopping the floor, leaving the mop bucket full of dirty water for ME to throw out - just throw the water out and put the bucket and mop away!

I hate how someone people (COUGH COUGH BOYFRIEND COUGH COUGH) will leave unfinished food on the dirty dishes in the kitchen overnight for me to clean in the morning....YUCK! :crazy2:

Hey, I was gonna say that. Does your rinse his dishes? Mine rinses the dish, then sets it 6 inches away from the dishwasher on the counter.

I hate it when DS6, goes to the bathroom & has not taken time out of his busy life to perfect his *AIM* then it dries on the rim, down the side & onto the floor. I keep telling him to wipe the rim when he's through, but like I said - he's got a busy life & I guess he thinks that I have nothing better to do than clean up his pee.

Agree with Kristikelly-

Men with bad aim!

I agree with everyone so far.

DH throws his dirty clothes on top of the hamper, not in it. I'll never figure that out.

DD leaving wet towels in her room - nice way to attract mildew.

My cat tracking kitty litter - of course, he only has a pea sized brain, so I'll let him go on this.;)

I think we must all live in the same house!

I am the only one in the house capable of loading and starting the dishwasher apparently, as well as the only one with enough education to replace the toilet paper rolls. I've actaully tested this one: they will use the rolls, just perched on the top of the old cardboard, until the next one is empty!

I blew it!!

I spoiled everyone rotten.

I do it all!

They don't even notice when I go on strike!

The surprising thing is, they all know how to clean a house, they know I can't stand a dirty house so they figure eventually it will get done.

My son told me he won't put me in a nursing home when I"m 65.

(please no disrespect for people that need to be in nursing homes.)

When my BF leaves things in his pockets then puts them in the laundry basket.

BF is no longer allowed to do the laundry after the great shrinking fiasco of 2002. How he managed on his own before me is beyond me! I know he took almost everything to the dry cleaners...

So I do it all, except the socks and towels which he is allowed to do.

I can't count how many times I have started a wash then found peices of mushed up wet kleenex all over everything. Now I triple check all pockets before starting....

i would also have to vote for men with bad aim and not replacing the toilet paper on the roll.

WHY DO THEY DO THAT!?!? My BF made this big fuss in Target last week about how we need another hamper so we have one for towels, one for clothes in the bathroom, and one for the bedroom.

He has YET to put anything IN the one in the bedroom! On top of it yes. On the floor next to it yes. But lift the lid and put the socks IN it? Noooooooo.....

Thanks for the laughs. I agree with all::yes::

I truly believe the problem begins with the Y chromosome. My dh does all of the above. We've been together almost 20 years and he still can't put down the seat:mad:

I think he is allergic to the dishwasher & the hamper.

But my biggest pet peeve is after sweeping & moping the floor he has to come home( timing? I think he watches me with a secret video camera) and walk all over the floors with work boots - argh:teeth:

We have a rule in our house that whoever cooks dinner the other cleans the kitchen after the meal. Well, dh always fills the dishwasher and then leaves the rest of the pots, pans, plates that won't fit in the sink instead of washing them. Oh how i hate that!!!!! If i do that to him in return he will sit there and say...what you can't wash anything by hand????

I also hate it when the boys of the house can not aim properly in the toliet!!!!

Oh maybe someday.......

DH actually does all the laundry and helps out every Saturday morning (we split it up so we can play in the afternoon). I AM the only one that can figure out the mysteries of the grocery store, though. And I hate the game he plays where he tries to see how much trash he can compact manually in the trash can so he doesn' t have to take it out. It's like some kind of game to see how much we can balance on top--it makes me crazy. Of course, if I get frustrated and try to take it out--he'll come rushing over to take it out. He has very good manners and won't let me carry anything heavy so I really shouldn't complain.

I, however, am guilty of not replacing the toilet paper. I don't know why...I just perch the new one on the cardboard tube and so does DD. Drives DH bananas!

Sadly, he now knows I'm not perfect! ;)

My pet peeve is actually the opposite of some.. putting the dishes in the sink rather than on the counter. If the dishes are in the sink and they need to be rinsed or wiped before putting them in the dishwasher I have to take them out of the sink, put them on the counter to have room in the sink to rinse them....

My DFiance would be a godsend to some of you... no fail, he always puts the dishes in the sink! :) Drives me nuts, but I am wierd....

Okay, I have to say that I honestly think that men DO know how to change the TP roll, they DO know how to do laundry, wash the dishes, aim, make a bed, use a hamper,... but if they show us that they know how, then the secret is out. If they show us just once, then we will expect it everytime. It's not that they don't know how, it's just a little bit of laziness. I have a feeling that it takes a lot of practice to *pretend* not to know how to do these things and I believe that's what they are doing - pretending, so that we will not even ask and just do it ourselves.

DH & DS went camping this pastweekend and when I got home, he had actually washed a load of laundry- all of the socks, underwear, towels & washcloths (all in 1 great BIG load) that they had taken, oh, I forgot to mention in that load was also 1 bright RED shirt!!! Fortunately, it had been washed several times & didn't bleed.

ugh! cleaning the litter box! Even though we have a "litter maid" for the cat - I still gotta empty it!
