is it calm, plain ish room or a dramatic room.

i would say mine is quite plain and small

Calm. My furniture is from 1990, along with a few hand-me-downs from family long before that. Bedding and curtains are in shades of blue and light green. Pictures I love on the walls. It has looked the same for years and probably will until I move to senior living. We just redid the adjoining bathroom to kind of a coastal/spa vibe - so grey, beige, off white and blue.

Rather plain, and not as large as I’d like for the amount of furniture we have. My furniture was all hand made by my grandfather. It’s black walnut wood, so very heavy and sturdy. It‘s beautiful, but rather dark, so I try to lighten it up with accessories. Walls are yellow, bedding is grey. We also have a HUGE tv. That’s DH’s doing, and I hate it.

Recently painted cocoa brown so I can switch out the bedding for whatever I like without having to worry about matching the color it was before, standard wooden furniture except for my bureau and nightstand, which are pink and aqua Formica and came out of a 50s-era motel that was upgrading to more modern pieces. I got both for ten bucks. The room is smallish, so I decided to go with a twin bed. One large bookcase filled with my WDW souvenirs. Some quirky objects I've collected over the years. My desk here with my computer is where I spend good chunks of my day.

Small, minimalist. earthy/cabincore. Sideboard for TV. Headboard. Quilt. Throw. No wall pictures because 3 walls are windows. No night stands or dressers. Working on finding a floor lamp light.

Utilitarian. We've got nice furniture and bed linens and draperies but our room serves no other purpose - no TV or reading area, and we don't spend any other time there.

Big, sorta plain, I guess, but I love it. We share the room with kiddo, so while our things are somewhat tidy (me moreso than my husband), there's toys scattered throughout. Even though we have a small toy box for him, they inevitably end up everywhere else.

It’s got an upscale safari vibe going on, or at least that was my intent. Brown walls, wood furniture, and earth tones. The bed is a four-poster king with mosquito net-esque swags draped over the top. African fabrics and paintings add color to the walls. One corner houses plants. There’s a beverage bar for coffee/tea/wine. The sitting area has a 125 gallon aquarium with Congo River fish and the windowsill is lined with African violets. The fireplace is flanked by built-in bookshelves that house some of my sentimental items. It’s one of the few mostly finished rooms in my house. 😩🤣

large and calm.
Furniture from the 80's. Cedar chest from the 70's.
There is a small alcove with a built in bookshelves and a recliner

Very exotic! :lovestruc You had me at African violets!

I have a large master bedroom with a large master bathroom and closet. We have a tray ceiling and recently bought a new chandelier. There is a sitting area with 2 recliners and a fireplace.

Large master bedroom with a deck and view. Feels very resort-like. One of the main reasons we bought this house.

Our bedroom is large and "national parks" themed, in an understated way. That mostly means lots of dark woods and low lighting--I tried to style it similar to the old lodges at some of the national parks, like Old Faithful Inn, Awani Lodge, etc. So kind of like Wilderness Lodge, haha. I have botanical prints on the walls, wood-framed vintage national parks travel posters above the bed, a couple old-style slingback safari chairs and oversized dark wood furnishings. We have an attached sitting area with a huge, comfy leather armchair and ottoman, a wooden side table and reading lamp, and an antique wooden desk with shelving where we display our travel books. The fact that this sitting area is also where we keep the treadmill and the Peloton hinders the ambience a bit, though!

My husband and I have what I call a "sleep incompatibility" so most nights I do my sleeping in my office upstairs. This room is small and cozy. I have a little daybed that is decorated with pillows from my travels, I have a mid-sized wooden dining table that I use as a desk, so the desk takes up a large part of the room, and I have a huge whiteboard over the desk. There is a faded-looking (but not actually old) Persian-style rug covering most of the floor, I have interesting framed posters and photos on the walls, and all in all it's a snug and very pleasant room. Eventually I'd like to get an artificial fireplace with a decorative mantle. I know the advice is not to sleep in the same room in which you work but it's not the least bit of a problem for me. I do everything in this room--work, read, yoga, watching movies, sleep. I love spending time with my husband and family but I also love having my own space where I can be all by myself whenever I want.

it has 24 hours of fresh air, I can hear the train whistle at night, in the fall I can hear the coyotes. the bed is covered with a southwest border theme blanket.... to match the cactus in the garden . Arizona rooms are wonderful bedrooms. ....from October to June.

I consider my room to be relaxing and slightly “fancy”.
My room is large, with a sliding glass door right into the back yard, and only steps from my hot tub. Half the room has my “office” and the other half is my bed. It’s in the lower level of my raised ranch and encompasses what would be two bedrooms upstairs.

I don’t have a private bathroom, but could if ai knocked down a wall (I’m considering it). The room is painted “Romance” pink with subtle glitter added to the paint. I have small chandeliers on dimmers in both halves of the room. I have IKEA Hemnes dresser/night stands and a dusty rose crushed velvet comforter. My bed, purchased in June, is so high that I almost need a step stool.

Ah... it has a bed. And some stuff on the floor. A couple of blinds still in the boxes leaning up against the wall. That's about it. I don't live fancy and nothing in the house is for decorated purposes.

Mine is nice and big. I actually have a weird bonus room attached, connected by louvred bifold doors, so I have a TON of space and storage. Currently one wall is a deep teal color and the rest are the gray the previous owners put all over the house, but after living with it for over a year I want to paint the whole room that color. I was hesitant at first, because it is very vibrant, but I love the color (Sherwin Williams lagoon).
