I got a phone call from my daughter earlier today. She was on her way home from work and going through an intersection when a car decided to only slow down not stop. DD gave the occupants a look and continued on her way to pick up my DGS. The car turned and followed her. When she got to her sister's house the female in the car jumped out and attacked her. Fortunately she is ok and was able to get the license number but, seriously, what is wrong with people? The other person attracked her because my daughter gave her a "look".
We did call the police and my DH, who is a deputy sheriff, intends to pursue this tomorrow when he gets home. He wants the other girl arrested.

 Here's a hug for your dd.

:sad2: There are some real nut jobs out there.

Good, and I hope she does get arrested and charged and taken to trial. That's completely rediculous. I'm so sorry you all are having to go through this, and that your DGS had to see that.

:scared1: OMG! Now she knows where your DD lives....people are absolutely freakin' nutso....

Must have been one heck of a 'look'! Thank goodness the other woman didn't have a weapon!!

Hope all is well......

I've got no answers for you but I just wanted to say, when teaching both my kids to drive I told them in no uncertain terms, when driving keep your comments, looks, and hand gestures to yourself no matter how wrong the other driver is because in this day and age you just never know what kind of psycho you're dealing with. This is one of those circumstances, unfortunately:sad2: . I'm sure your daughter was shook up; that had to be scary. Glad no one was hurt :flower3: .

I am telling you, its insane anymore. I hope that girl has to face the music! And I am glad your daughter is okay, that must have been really scary.

Nobody can admit to doing anything wrong anymore and many people are just unable to channel their anger. I agree with a previous poster, you can't even dare give anyone a look, a horn beep or anything else when they do something wrong. And I don't mean to imply your daughter did anything wrong. But there are too many pyschos out there these days. Who will follow you to teach a lesson apparently.

Thank you all for the support. The "look" was just looking over at teh car to make sure she didn't get hit as the other car was ignoring a stop sign. I am really glad my DD is ok but I am more worried about my other DD. This happened at her house and her DF is on night work this week and she is homew alone with 3 kids under 4 1/2 including a 2 week old newborn. I told her to make sure the door is locked and to call me if anything happens at once. I live around the corner as does my DS so we will both be there in a heartbeat.

Let me tell you what happened to me two months ago...my neighbors cat was under my car whenever I was backing out of my driveway, I didn't see her and hit her with my car :scared1: I grabbed her up and put her in the car and I drove like a mad women to the nearest vets office, in doing this, I zoomed around a car with a women in it that flipped me the bird, I was alright with that, after all I was speeding, the women followed me and whenever I got out of my car with the cat and was running to the door, the women drove up to me screaming profanity at me and I just raised the cat up so she could see the blood...a normal person would have put two and two together but this chic keep screaming until I got into the vets office, after I got though explaining about hitting the cat and the nurse took the cat, I went back outside to punch the ladies face in but she was gone and had key my car.:headache:

What is wrong with people, good question, I don't know!

Wow sorry to hear.

Okay, I don't normally rejoice in others' misfortunes -- but that story brings joy to my heart! lol God bless a good sheriff in the right place at the right time.

I'm so glad your DD's OK. People are INSANE :scared1: I'm always ready to give stupid/ignorant people a good look, but you have to be careful these days because you never know what they'll do back :headache:

OP, I hope everyone is safe and that woman is taught a lesson on proper behavior. I have a similar story that happened back when I was 17. My brother had picked me up from work one night and we were exiting out of the back entrance. It opened up onto a pretty dark side street and as we were exiting we suddenly see this car coming down the road without its' headlights turned on. We couldn't see them until they were right on us and we had already pulled out and couldn't stop so the other car had to stop on a dime. We then went about a mile down the road to a video store and hadn't even had time to get out of the car when a man appeared at my brother's window and commenced calling him every name in the book and cursing a blue streak. I was pretty mild mannered and sweet back then(oh, what a difference 10+ years makes....) but after a couple of minutes of constant beratement from this jerk and my big bro just sitting in the car tolerating it I decided to take matters into my own hands. I got out of the car and screamed at this moron telling him exactly what I thought about him, uncut and uncensored!:scared1: Well, he just looked at me like I was crazy and got back in his car and left. After I calmed down I just burst into tears and couldn't believe I broke my New Year's resolution to be nice to everybody.:lmao: I guess it had been a long day at work and I just wasn't going to take any crap from anybody else. Some people are just rude!

I agree! You never know who is carrying a gun and whether they would use it due to road rage.

Add to that: if you think that someone is following you, don't go home. Go to a well-populated place where there are likely to be a lot of witnesses, then get out of the car with your phone in your hand ready to call 911. You never want to let a psycho like this know where you live.

::yes:: My parents always said to drive to the nearest police or fire department and honk your horn non stop. Never go to your home or someone else's home. And don't get out of the car.

OP, I hope both your DDs are ok.

And don't get out of the car!!! Lay on the horn. Call someone on your cell phone, drive to a police station if you can. For some people driving brings out the very worst in them.

I'll never forget reading a story about a woman that was cut off and she yelled at the driver. Both women got out and things got heated. Fighting ensued and the other woman's friends got out and helped her. They killed her while her children were in the vehicle watching. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: I'll never forget that story.

OP, I'm glad your DD is okay. I hope the other girl gets the book thrown at her.

I went to the police station and here in Philly if a cop doesn't see the crime it is as if it didn't happen. They did go to the car owners address but there is no proof they were in the car, that they were there, etc. We have to wait until my DH gets home tomorrow night and is downtown in the courts on Monday where he'll be able to talk to a few DA's. The girl will most likely not be prosecuted however. I'm just thankful that my DD's are ok.

I have told my girls to go the police station if they think they are being followed as it is right down the street from my house. My DD never thought that they were really following her until the car actually stopped a few doors away from her sister's. It is a scary world out there sometimes. I can't wait to go back to Disney.
