Someone stole our Christmas lawn decorations this evening. They weren't anything fancy...just small Tigger and Mickey blowups from Home Depot. We've only had them out since Sunday.

Joy...tomorrow's my birthday and I get to start it out by explaining to DD and DS what happened.

People suck! :sad2:

Wow that is so petty. Who steals Christmas decorations? That's not exactly the right mindset for the season...

ok Wow... How Rude!!!

Sorry that your decorations were stolen

I have really sat and thought a lot about how people are just getting worse and worse, lying is common place as speaking for some.

Some folks will steal any thing they can get their hands on. You can't even go to the grocery store and walk though the parking lot without hearing some of the fouling language in the world.

I could go on and on but you get the jest, I really don't know how people are getting along without the Lords help.

A friend of mine feared to put out his yard decorations because kids were going around his neighborhood slashing them with knifes. :sad2:

This is for the Holiday looters.......

This is for your family: :grouphug:

There is a growing attitude in a minority of people that says "if I can't have anything nice then no one else can" its the its not fair attitude that some people have that someone else has had the nerve to work hard to achieve something good and because they are too lazy to then they will try and distroy anything good someone else does. I would say more but its a bit hard to type round the fluffy bottom of a tabby cat and she is having a me moment :lmao:

That just stinks. :sad2:

I imagine people will sell anything for drug money, and even simple decorations have value.

This is just indicative of a more general attitude many folks in our society have -- that basically anything they want to do that they feel they can get away with is fair game. Such an attitude seems to be used to rationalize a whole host of transgressions, from petty theft, to copyright violation, to cheating, to just plain lying.

I'm sorry to hear about your decorations. It makes me so  to hear about people stealing holiday decorations! It's a shame that we ("we" = everyone) can't decorate without worrying about theft.

I hope that the rest of your birthday will be a happy one.

:sad2:
I am so sorry. I don't understand why people do this.

Just wanted to offer you a hug.

Hope you have a better day!

Ugh, that sucks. This place is getting crazier by the day.

On a side note, I'd like to wish you a Happy Birthday. Hopefully the day will get better after the explanation. Kids are great that way.

What a bummer. My heart goes out to your kids

(and happy birthday)

That really stinks!

A few years ago a grandson of my parents friends had an issue. He was caught stealing the "stable" set-up from outside a church at Christmas time. He got caught. :cool1: Not sure if it was a first offense or not (probably not) but he did actual jail time.

Hopefully your creep will somehow get caught.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

We had a Santa stolen one year. It was one that probably costs $15-20 basically a metal frame with lights on it.

When we reported it to the police, they said it was probably teenagers as it had been unusually warm that year and seemed a rash of really dumb things to steal were getting stolen. Really, who steals a light-up Santa/Christmas decorations? It's not like there is a hot underground market for these things.

The worst part of that one was my DD thought Santa wasn't going to come because he was stolen. Apparently she thought the light up Santa was THE Santa and if he wasn't there, he wouldn't come ??? She was probably about 4 at the time it happened.

We still live in the same area and have never had any other yard decorations stolen since, so it definitely was a weird fluke.

yep you are correct. Punishments are a thing of the past and law enforcement has been streched so thin, they don't have time to deal with things like this.

I live in a town of 60,000. We have 5 police officers because there is no money to hire more. There have been 2 murders here in the last month and the entire police force is tied up trying to solve them (and rightfully so). Smaller crimes go unnoticed.

Kids and adults can get away with almost everything because noone wants to get involved for fear of being sued. It's sad and I don't see it getting any better.

That does suck!

They just arrested a woman in Maryland for stealing Christmas decorations. The cops said she had stuff everywhere in her house from at least 3 different houses and probably more.:sad2:

Sorry about the decorations!

But, Happy Birthday! I should have remembered your birthday since it's the same as mine. :rotfl:
