It is so annoying! I will be watching a show, and out of nowhere, it will flip to the NOW PLAYING page that lists all the shows that have been recorded. The remote is not being sat on or touched in anyway.

I called CS, and got someone who is CLUELESS. I just wanted him to admit he has no idea why it was doing this, and he kept going on about how my hard drive was probably too full, that I probably only had 30 hrs of record time, when in fact we have 70 hours. So, I needed to get off the phone with him, because I was going crazy. So, I made it seem like he was so right, I needed to delete some programs and that should fix the problem.

NOT. We went and deleted a good chunk of shows, and less than 5 minutes later...flip. It seems to be happening more frequently, and it is the most annoying thing. How do I explain this to them so they understand what is happening? It has absilutely nothing to do with what has been recorded, what is recording or what will be recorded. :confused3

We actually had this problem twice--the first time it was the batteries dying just put in new batts and it worked fine---the second time was more aggravating but then we found that the top button with the left, right ,up down arrows was actually sticking on the left arrow side -some soda or something had gotten in between the side and the button try with a very litely damp Qtip or the edge of a paper towel to clean on that side (because the left arrow side when pressed from "Live Tv" will bring you to the "Now Playing" list) then try to pull up on it gently this worked for us!!

button sticking was my first instinct.

Ours is not a directTV box, but, when we have weird quirks it sometimes needs to be unplugged, wait for 5 minutes or so and replug it so it 're-obtains' it's programming information. Don't know if that is helpful to you or not! Good Luck!

The only other thing I could think of was that a neighbor just got a DVR. :)
