What is up with Drs. this week?-A vent

This is week has been just weird: I took my DD7 to the dentist for a follow up to check her new space maintainer that was put in last week. I get there 15 minutes early and the hygenist comes out and says oh he hasn't been here all week, he had a family emergency. Ok, well no one called me to let me know. I had to take my DD out of school for this appointment. She says she can look at it but can't adjust it if it needs it.
Okay, if you can't fix it, why would you want to waste my time, but I had her look at it anyway, then she says DD hasn't brushed her teeth-lets see she just had lunch at school about 2 hours before. So they have to make me another appointment for next week to bring her in after school to adjust the bar. When I signed her in the receptionist didn't say anything, but when I left wanted to charge me, hello, if I don't get to have the dentist look at my kid, I am not going to give you money. then the hygenist told her not to charge me.
Today: DM had a appointment with one of her doctors. We go there, guess what? There is a sign on the door saying they are closed for renovations until monday. Guess what? No one called to tell us this and this is the only office the doctor has. So I get to call on monday and reschedule the appointment that they had all ready called a few weeks ago to change for today and tell them they can give DM a check for the amount they would have charged her if she hadn't shown up .

I can't believe the dentist's office was going to charge you. I would have right in their face.

I alwyas like how THEY charge for missed appointments but if they cancel on you...

I also had a receptionist not tell me yesterday. I figured it out when I'd been waiting a long time and heard her tell someone ELSE. The doctor was delivering a baby. I honestly don't mind waiting since I usually clear my schedule for the appointment anyway and I know what the Dr. is doing is important - but I get really ticked off when they don't TELL ME!

A receptionist not calling to tell you the Dr. isn't even going to be in that day is pretty inexcusable. Someone should be in trouble with their employer.
